Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Yeah, I wait for pirates to leave rocks … so get some peace mining.

But inevitably on the return trip I get interdictions … esp, as in the bubble seems you gave to travel a bit to get decent platinum prices. perhaps I should just selll to FC , some of the prices are reasonable , given the number of jumps I’ve had to make to get to stations ?!
I've just brought my carrier back from the Parrots Head triple platinum overlap. I paid about 250K per ton and have over 1400t on board mined by others. I'll need to wait a couple of days for the right price to sell. It's something I would do again in November, but I need to be careful and ensure enough gets mined and sold to me to make it worthwhile for me. 1400t is OK, but not an amazing return on time after expenses. Fleet Carrier Owners Club discord channel #229 is mine if you want to keep in touch with what I'm doing. A deep space expedition departs 3rd October with core mining opportunities

I did a bad thing (killed two guards) and now I have "notoriety 1". I think this will clear in time but not sure how long. I found an IF but they won't let me pay fines due to it. Do I just wait it out?
I haven't done it on foot, but any time I have gotten something I want to get rid of at an IF, I've had to wait at least a half hour to an hour before they will let me pay it.

Was either 1, either 2 hrs per point. Waiting counts, so when i've accidentally got it to 10, i've kept the game running for a while. Leaving for another faction territory should work, but idk if i checked. I think back then i accidentally assaulted smth big, like Feds (or Imps, can't remember), and police interdictions were rly annoying me, so i've waited out. Ah or not, now when i'm writing this, i remember. It was somewhere during Colonia Bridge. At the day when CG started, and i wanted to take part, and ofc it was in a system where i had 10 notoriety. That's why i just kept the game running while doing smth else.

And I'm looking forward to it.

I'll probably dock on my birthday (the 2nd) and have my Python transferred on board and then just take a day off until you get us where we're going.
There is a fair chance most of the fleet carrier jumps will be done on the 3rd while you are sleeping. It depends on me being able to press a few keys every 20 minutes through my day. I managed to get to Rackhams Peak inside 8 hours which is the same number of jumps as where we are going. You'll have your Phantom, so you've always got the option of racing the carrier the last 1000ly or so to the target system if necessary.
So far only one other commander has chosen an exploration direction despite two others saying they are coming. It's going ahead regardless of how many of us there are.

how do you abort the ADC if it does go wrong? de-activate power? set throttle to zero?
I really wish ADC was a simple on/off key bind.. but I dont think thats the case? no?
Just increase throttle to slightly above zero, all the docking computers only activate at zero throttle. No key binds, you can kill the power on the modules tab and disable some options on the ship tab in the right hand screen.

If it works as for ships it ought to be two hours active in the game per point, additionally Odyssey IF won’t deal with you if the faction that is upset with you is present in the same system.

Very interesting place...

Good luck explorers...

When just following a road with a carrier (i. e. you don't explore on your way, or just are busy enough, but want your carrier still be jumping while you are elsewhere), a table with jump systems is a nice thing. I've used ED Discovery Expedition tab that i just filled with my Spansh route plotter data, but i guess Spansh site or even an Excel table are just as good. Basically you just need to keep cursor on your next system and to alt-tab every 20 mins, and paste that system on your way. That's the matter of seconds, and then you return to work, or whatever you do. Sounds like obvious advice, idk, but anyway...

I'm currently wondering if I shoud report it as a bug or what, but I find it funny that a route from Byeia Thaa BA-A g2 to HR 6944 is 46 jumps, while making one jump "sideways" (i.e. in a direction perpendicular to the destination heading) to Byeia Thaa AD-K b22-0 and plotting from there makes it 36 jumps... plotting "fastest route" with boost option, 70.28LY aspX.

Hmm... already dropped to zero.
I think there are thresholds of some kind in each notoriety level. You can kill a couple guards, get 1 notoriety, but it wears off pretty fast. But if you kill 3 or 4 you might still have only 1 notoriety, but it takes longer to wear off.

That's my theory anyway.

If you get 2 or more notoriety it does seem to take quite a long time.

Nah. The route plotter is actually pretty good considering that it has to consider thousands and thousands of possible routes and yet has to do it quickly. Change one of the end points and you're going to get different results, it just can't be helped. Well, unless you want it to take an hour instead of a few seconds. It's not a trivial problem to solve for.

Well, I've learnt my lesson :D

That lesson is "take nothing for granted". What happened is that I sneaked into a restricted area and got back out only to see guard right in front of me. He started shooting. I went all CZ.

The settlement went into kill the infidel mode...
