What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I think the Main Difference is that Spätzle have more Eggs in them (do other Noodles even include Eggs? 🤔). There's definitely a big Difference in Taste. If you can find a English Version of the Recipe, I'd recommend to try it
Either way, it's good, right? So, yes... (reminds me when I wanted to make spaghetti fritters, came out like Asian stir fry noodles instead. Good either way, a bit too much garlic)
I love how this thread evolved into a bashing-round of German Schlager music after Darthquell's innocent question
Ahhh, I'm sorry 🤣 o_O. At least y'all know part of y'alls culture. There's still a lot about Argentina and Texas that I don't know; I can't even make chimichurri

Mine is simply called the "Wildpark". In Germany, as I understand it (@Swjosdotschka might be able to provide a better explanation) a wildpark is a small zoo that mostly deals in native European species. The zoo I'm building is in the UK, and will contain a lot of exotic animals, but the European section is called the Wildpark.
Yep, Wildparks usually have an european animal focus, but also a few foreign species. Basically anything that is rather easy to keep in germanys climate and don't need a big backstage shelter or a lot of heating. Usually Wildparks are low budget.
A few other criterias for most Wildparks: They tend to be in a rather natural enviorement, lots of trees, foliage, natural pathes etc. In my favourite Wildparks the habitats are also rather large. In the one near my home town I have yet to catch a glimps of the wolfes, as there enclosure is that big, that they usually hide far away from the guests and only can be bothered let themself seen when it is commented feeding time.

Really looking forward seeing your progress by the way :)

The fallow deer in the Sutherland Zoo Wildpark. I made it a walkthrough enclosure which dips into a small valley. Out the other end will be the rest of the Wildpark, where I have already put badgers. I'm planning a moose habitat, Arctic foxes, timber wolves, and lynxes at the other end. I'll compile more and better screenshots when I've finished the area, though it's going to be pretty forested.

I finished my staff building "cover" houses and although they aren't as elaborate as the blueprints I used on the other side, I'm happy with what I achieved!

Besides that, I mainly watched my animals thrive and breed and I added some more shops to keep the guests happy. I also experimented with the monorail, so there is still hope for a ride to be opened some day. I also started the Ibex/Sheep habitat, but I don't like it at all. I will rework it, but "next year" - I'm going to take a (forced) break from the game now. But I hope I can use my free time to make a holiday card for the competition.

in the theme of doing smaller simpler things (my only real option lol) my first two restaurants are done. The See-Food Restaurant and Courtyard Cafe. Working on some other themes, definitely plans for a more rustic/log cabin type of restaurant and a Bavarian style "tavern" next.

Hope everyone is having as much fun with the new feature as I am. I wish we had options to offer different type of menus, but as I've said elsewhere, I'm just happy we have this feature at all now.

WIP on that Tavern...but my fingers are cramping up. Probably time to save and come back to it tomorrow!

Today I ragequit from new time scenario :)
That thing is the worst of them all. The staff wages drive you into the ground right away and the layout is terrible. Had to restart as well, hit pause, fired all the staff and closed down all the areas but the Venice one, relocated all the animals into that area as well and added shops that actually made money there. Then it worked and I was able to complete it on gold, but yeah, definitely my least fav of all of them.

Think I'm gonna continue on my challenge zoo today, post those Dall Sheep pics I said I'd show 😅 but first I gotta feed my snakes 🐍

Got Windows 10 to work. Needed to create a new Windows 10 DVD because somehow Files on the other one got corrupted. Now I'm going to start my Zoo that I've been planning in my Head for the last few Weeks. Can't get the Europe Pack yet (which will be very important for this Zoo), but I hope I'll get a Steam Gift Card for Christmas again so I can buy it then

For those that played ZT2, do y'all remember the Discovery Kiosk?

Well, anyways, what it was a short video that looped (really a photo gallery that was supposed to behave like a documentary), and guests would go up to it and get an education bonus.

Well, I plan to copy that and make some "documentaries" about the PZ animals, but I wanted to use in-game footage.

Do y'all know any free apps I can use to record my computer screen?
Or do y'all know any YT videos I can download to use? Preferably without somebody talking

🙁 Wanted to comment that I'd like some Mini Documentaries for the Billboards like the ones that would play during the Animal Videos of a specific Youtube Channel that I can't find anymore, so I can't show a Example. They were made to look and sound like they've been made in the 50s or some similar Time

So much about finally starting that Zoo. As soon as the most important Things are done and Steam is updating, my Computer freezes and also freezes again during the Restart 🤦🏻‍♂️
Edit: it's working again after I've wiggled a few Cables around. The Power Supply Unit might be nice and really good but the Cables of it are pure Trash. They already caused so many extremely annoying Problems 😒

Before my game froze and crashed a second time since yesterday, I built a habitat for wolfs which I'm kinda proud of and also a small habitat for two cougars. The american/european section of my zoo is coming along nicely and I finally like what I'm doing :D

I'm finally back with those Dall Sheep habitat pics :D

Also managed to finish the small staff area beside it and started the entrance building, though that one can't be finished just yet 'cause I'm missing some reseach for the design I have in mind. So until that is done I think I'm gonna get the restaurant area done and maybe think about whatever animal I wanna add next...

But first have some Sheep ^.^

Yeah! (y)

@Nioell Really cool habitat, I like how you play with the height differences here!

I tried to make a logo for my new zoo today:

I think it fits the alpine, cozy, wooden style quite well. (Which is great because I'm not too good with very abstract design.)

So good to hear you are working on some stuff like music and short films @darthquell because it's something I think can really bring the zoo to life. Am still slightly upset that Frontier have left us with so little ambient sounds on the speakers and was just considering that I'd have to go out and find some.

Managed the new timed scenario on easy (firing 90% of the vendors at the start and getting your talks set up quickly did the trick for me.

Messed around in my franchise zoos - am slowly working on one that requires much more building which is way out of my comfort zone so I tend to lose patience pretty quickly but I am slowly getting better at it.

Got frustrated with even starting my aquatic roof section so left that and went to my second oldest franchise zoo 'The Beginning of the Armadillos' which is a north american colder zoo for most of the alpine / tundra species. (Yes I know armadillos aren't very cold weather friendly and we don't have them in game but my franchise is based on the Just So stories and it is supposed to be themed around native cultures and their stories so I wanted the beginning in the title).

Absolutely adore the new restaurant feature - it's not something I ever knew I needed (used it very little in Planet Coaster) but it makes the zoos come alive in a totally different way. Here's my Wolf's Point Pizzaria in the snow...

It's a very fun hobby for me to do during the week when I don't play PZ. And about ambient sounds, I'm planning on releasing some on my non-mod mod
