What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

After a little break I'm back with the second habitat for the Floodplains section of Stringybark Zoo! Of course, lemurs don't exactly fit the tropical wetlands theme of this particular area of the zoo, but I've wanted to do a classic lemur island habitat for a while and this felt like the perfect environment to slot them in. This time around I just used the default blueprints for the climbing frames because I really didn't feel like spending half an hour fiddling around with them.

I'm thinking pygmy hippos and bongos are next!

People guess who finally finished another habitat? Itse me and im gonna spoiler all the pictures cause i got a few :)
Starting off with a few wide shots from all sides. I really like how much i could make it look forestry even with just one central tree in the middle.

Hope you liked it :)
Ngl quite proud of it
Beautiful! Good job! Love the sign with the Skunk and Racoon tail.
Only one thing: Your fence doesn't work this way. It needs poles. The wood on top would depress the fence. I had a chain link fence at home myself for a long time and without the posts it would have simply fallen over.

Back already with the bongos and pygmy hippos done, but both have fairly simple habitats.

Here's an overhead look at the nearly completed Floodplains area! There's only one enclosure left to build, the largest, which will also form the transitional habitat between this section and South-east Asia.

@Chuditch what a beautiful area with the raised walkway, and I noticed you made your education sign part of something wider - I really need to do something like that instead of just a bog-standard sign all the time.

I was working on a small shop area in Elmvale tonight. I really enjoyed myself, though I have not finished as it is 1 am and past my bedtime lol.

I only just discovered you can put videos on those tv screens haha.

I need to pretty it up with some kerbs and more plants etc. The colours are a bit in your face, but hey ho I'll go with it for a change. And I just noticed someone vandalised my bench, how dare they!

Overall view so far (Aquatic theme):

As you can see, I am building this one on the grid. I find it so relaxing to do that sometimes.

And that enclosure is done! This large habitat contains a small herd of water buffalo, which here are meant to represent the domestic species (specifically Australian swamp buffalo) rather than the wild one it is labelled as in-game. Originally I intended this to be a mixed species habitat with both buffaloes and Asian small-clawed otters, however I ended up deciding against it as I think the enclosure is a bit big for such small animals. They'll have their own little habitat later on within the South-east Asia section.

Some of you may have recognised the big shed in the back that constitutes their night quarters - this is actually a recolour of the large shed blueprint I created for the (currently postponed) Hinterland Zoo a couple months back. It's quite fitting really given water buffalo are planned to be one of the "mascot species" of that particular zoo, alongside the cassowary.

Currently the Floodplains area just needs a few more scenery touches (mostly background foliage work) to be properly complete, and I'm looking forward to working on the next section of the zoo (whether continuing on to South-east Asia or jumping over and starting the Australian area, haven't decided yet).

I did another of the small domes in Biopark Australia. This houses wallabies and platypus and both animals have outdoor areas too.

My original idea was to have platypus and devils, but due to how hard is to get them, the zoo has put a fence so that wallabies can live there instead and don't jump over the fence.

I like how the tunnel log looks underwater even if the animal can't use them:

Trying my hands on another tropical house again, i really like having them eventhough especally the first stretch of building can be a pain.
Can you guys spot all the animals in this first layout? So far ive only got 3 habitat animals in here, but i might expand it eventhough its allready much bigger then it is to my liking, but hey we will see

FINALLY! I got my shiny Chamander in Pokemon Violet 😁
Hopefully now I have a little more time for Planet zoo. So new year new zoo, right?
Nothing to show at the moment. just built the freeway and some fences. Nothing earth shattering.

But tell me, since when can you no longer delete the entrances and paths in the sandbox? What nonsense! I hope this is just a bug and will be fixed

You can! But frontier made the annoying choice of you must have a spawner in your zoo at all times , so place another spawner from the facilities menu anywhere then delete the paths and click on the spawner outside the map and then delete it (or delete the spawner then paths I can't remember which)

Today i started work on the outdoor enclosure for the otters, i think they like it so far. The idear is the that next to the tropical house will be a small "offroad" section to take some pressure away from the main path by the emus and also have a connection to the staff area featuring some smaller animals, propaply also peafowls and caracals. But we will see how it will be in the end
