What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Well well its starting to take shape!
A little update on the outdoor holding of the otters. I really like the fence for the pons and think it turned out quite nice. Only need to do the part behind the bridge and some fencing for the bridge so that people dont fall of, but its a great start id say.

For Inside the house, i build a little on the galapagos giant tortoises habitat and build an actual backwall. Still rough but will be worked on soon.

So today i got a bit more work in, trying to define the right side. Im not sure how happy i am with it, i like the first steps of the pigmy hippo holding but the shell, while in line to tropical houses ik rl and obviously just very rough so far, im not so sure with. I also started building on an implied aviary in the back left corner of the lower image after taking the screen, so lets see how it will be. This would also leave the right hind quarter still unworked, where im propaply gonna continue the tropical hall from the left side with some kind of monkey, maybe inside areas for lemures and/or siamangs, but we shall see.

No pics, I forgot, but Longview Zoo is now finished. I have a bit to fix up, like decor, an entrance, and barriers to hide the open areas, but yep.

Oh wait, lemme get into character...

Well hi, y'all. Welcome to an update for the ever growing Longview Zoo. We are pleased to announce that our final area, the Amazon Adventure, has now been built. It is a building with an area to walk around capuchins, boa constrictors, yellow anaconda, and our stars: a pair of jaguars.

The zoo now has a full roster, and we are so happy to go through this adventure. Unfortunately, the camera roll was corrupted, so we lack photos, currently, but we plan to fix up the surrounding areas to beautify the zoo. This was truly an adventure, and the zoo is now the official HQ for the World Zoo Organization (WZO).

We are privileged to begin a brand new organization that will feature many zoos from all over the zoo.
Very soon, our CEO, Mr. Quell, will begin construction on Moonshine Oasis Zoo, set in New Mexico. This will be a unique experience of housing warm climate animals from North Africa, Australia, and Asia. What will also make it special is that it will be open only at night, so visitors will be able to enjoy the nocturnal lives of the species we have planned.

Thank you for your support and donations. We also have a special thank you to [NAME REDACTED], Mr. Quell's very special friend, whom without her, the organization wouldn't have been a success...

Well well well, guess whos here again.
I really had a lot of fun and inspiration the last days and had multiple sessions per day with many new habitat idears, but for today i actually got another one allmost done.
Let me show you the outdoor habitat of the pigmy hippos. The path right of the tree in the foreground doesnt have some foliage between the rocks and the path, which is the only thing left to be done about them, but yeah planet zoo got me back into my grove and im having more fun then ever with the game. All you need are some good fresh idears and the game allmost plays itself!

I decided to have a change and start a sandbox zoo. It will be very loosely based on my closest zoo which is in Dudley, Birmingham, UK. When I last visited I took hundreds of pics to help me copy some of its features. Tonight I worked on the shop/entrance area leading up from the car park. I need to do some kerbstones, some kind of stair railing and the car park, but all the paths through the shop and out the other side are done (what a pain they are!)

Started the Australia section for Stringybark Zoo, which is more specifically focused on temperate south-eastern Australia, with the first of my top 3 favourite animals to be brought into the zoo, the dingo! The elevated viewing area was mainly inspired by the dingo habitat at Cleland Wildlife Park, which has always been my biggest inspiration when building for dingoes even through I've seen them at several other zoos.

The whole Australia section is planned to be within a large walkthrough enclosure with both emus and red-necked wallabies (once again inspired by particular exhibits at Cleland Wildlife Park), hence why there's a guest gate visible in the first image. However, they'll be the last animals to go in.

Back already with more dingoes! I honestly wasn't totally happy with how the original habitat turned out (can't even put my finger on why, it just felt off), which obviously is not something you want for one of your favourite animals, and so I ended up almost completely remaking it! I'm much more happy with the final result this time around, it uses many of the same ideas as the original habitat but in a way that feels less messy and more zoo-like.

Woah, that is one very big cafe @Captain Callum I would never have the patience! I love the solar panels :)

I added some kerbing and extras to my 'Dudley Zoo', made the Candy Cabin, a playground and the iconic wave entrance (which no longer gets used these days, but they keep it there unaltered).

The real zoo has a gondola ride just after the candy cabin, going up to the higher section, but I have decided not to add it, it's too much of a pain.

The cafe is actually even bigger than one thinks, wait until I finish the area around it then you can see basically a warehouse attachment for the staff rooms. I wonder if you are gonna attempt to make Dudley castle or I should say mudley castle

More work on my sandbox zoo yesterday and today... I'm neglecting my franchises lol.

Toilets and drink shops:

A bit of decor:

And my first habitat, what a pain in the neck it was!

I don't know whether to turn any animal requirements etc off, I've never really played sandbox before. I would like to put more plants in there but the flamingos do not like any more, I put in the max for them already.

Edit: see post two below.

Also, if anyone can help me with a suggestion on how to do a 45 degree angle info board that will look decent - please help! I tried to do it with wood and had trouble because of bits of the wood sticking up through the screen (angles!). I gave up for now and just stuck a standard frame and metal legs on but I know it looks really dreadful.

What material are you looking to make the sign out of?

@Captain Callum preferably I was going to go for wood.

So sorry! I shouldn't have wasted your time to ask - I never even thought of the workshop, I can look there! I don't normally use it, I guess there is a wealth of stuff available that I am missing out on. Sorry, Captain!
