What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Played a bit the Myers Castle scenario. My actual Zoo is lagging as hell :cautious: (I hate this, I absolutely love the zoo and would love to continue building, but if the PCdies quickly when I "plant" the Buffalo Grass)

I'll guess, I need to build smaller Zoos...

So today I am working on some adjusting on my North African zoo named Anubis. The zoo is North African themed and only has African animals from all biomes except tropical. I intentionally excluded tropical as previous failed African zoos were too big, plus I have a successful tropical African zoo named Shikaka.
Anyway I have previously made several empty habitats for future animals, in particular the 2022 dlc animals fit perfectly in the empty sections. Now with the Arid dlc, I am seriously struggling to figure out who will go where and which habitats will allow multi species.
Determined the Dama Gazelle will live with the Ts, springs and sables. I may merge my gemsbok and oryx habitats and welcome the addax. Camels and donkeys are gonna have to live together, I took down my flamingo and hopeful Shoebill habitat and relocated them to another are to make room for our new members. Hoping the sand cat will be ok with a small habitat and will allow a few members. I had made a habitat with hopes of porcupines and Secretary birds, may need to use it for new members.
Now the big struggle is black rhino habitat, was thinking of sharing them with the white rhino habitat which I have 4 members, yet their space requirements are a lot and I don’t know if I’m gonna pull it off.
I made an empty baboon and gelada habitat along with a designated aviary section yet I am afraid I may tear those down as adding new sections may look strange and may bug me in the future. Maybe I am having creative block.

I set up an 'action shot' for my latest video. A few extra pieces on the jeeps and some smoke effects help to sell it I think!

I've continued renovating my Etosha area and did the wild dog and gemsbok/springbok habitats. Some surrounding planting and the interior of the ranger hut still have to be done but I'm already really happy with the current look, looks much better than before.
Maybe you notice the fake electric grass in the antelope enclosure. Recently I've seen a youtuber creating this and I liked it very much, so I recreated it myself.

While I was trying to prepare everything for the new pack, an idea occurred to me, sell all the animals from my main big zoo that are from DLCs and instead put only animals from the base game, and while I was taking a tour of my zoo to see how they looked ( i did a little new save, so my main zoo is ok xd , just was for fun) I found this beautiful frame and I had to capture it, simply beautiful

I am very pround of the extreme jungle theme that i did in that part of my zoo, I challenge you to try to guess in which biome my zoo is made, but i know some of you will guess easy :)👀

The new dlc has inspired me to take on a new summer project, a zoo in the south of Spain. I am starting with making enclosures for the new habitat animals.

This was going pretty well until I was tidying up my work in process projects (too) late last night and I deleted it by mistake.

I am hoping for support beyond this year whilst mentally preparing myself for only two more DLCs after Arid.

There is one project I have decided to return too, a typical Japanese zoo with different kinds of animals. I thought this was the most versatile approach and the best way to find a home for hopefully all of the coming species for the rest of this year.

Just here to say that everyone builds so fantastic. Lots of inspiration, cool and neat ideas, all that jazz.

@markun, so sorry about that. This reminds me to have a backup save file somewhere, just in case it happens to me...
@abigenius, you said you built a jungle zoo, but you were a bit ominous about the surrounding environment. Did you build it in a desert?

Happy release day everyone!
Just built a simple, little habitat for the porcupines in Biopark. They got a spot opposite of the large savannah. I really, really like the model and movements of the porcupine in the game. Also, it's great how good the traversable area of these guys is! They can easily use my hollow logs (ON the log was acutally unintended :D ).
