What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Making real zoo education items is always a fun thing to do, the newest kind of education item build was a pair of galapagos tortoise shells for (I assume) kids to crawl into and get a photo-op. There is a nearby sign educating guests on 2 different kinds of tortoise shells found in the galapagos islands.

These look really cool, I would’ve never thought of this. Can you upload them to the workshop? Would love to use them in my current petting zoo project.

Of course, these were pretty difficult to build but anyone concerned about pieces counts they are about 750 pieces each 😅 Spamming gutter caps to get the right shell shape does add up.

Reworked the beaver/bison/pronghorn habitat with a ton more waterscaping, and plant/rock work. The tallest part of the waterfall will be fed by a cliff top lake that will also feed into swimming pool for the moose/red deer/fallow deer habitat that sits just to the right. We’re just pretending they’re North American deer over here.

I tried to make a beaver den/dam but it kinda ended up more like a wooden igloo. Not great, but It’ll do until I can make a proper dam structure. It’s gonna be time consuming. But the beavers only water access point is through the hut entrance. I love watching them swim through.

Your waterwork is impressive.

Your waterwork is impressive.
Thank you! It’s been a lot of trial and error but I’ve landed on the easiest way to make it look natural is start low and then work you way up in height levels creating little pools. Then using the waterfall midsections and building the rock work and terrain around them. Most of the water work is just the rapids foam and splash effects going over rocks with no water underneath them. They are very useful tools.

recently with too much time on my hand I worked on 2 projects.
For all my zoos I have made mock aviaries, made for medium-large or in need of space birds.
Working on my Na zoo, I was updating my petting zoo, I decided it’s time to make small aviaries for song birds and small birds.
Along with that I decided to make exhibits meant for small mammals where a normal exhibit would not suffice.
I don’t know that many small mammals, when I get home Il share photos, if any of you can recommend animals that would suffice please let me know.

Tonight I finished the Armadillo enclosure and started the second to last enclosure in the petting zoo for the Fallow Deers. I haven't really built anything nice for them yet so that could warrant their inclusion in the zoo. Got all the foliage and rockwork done along with the lookout, now I just need to do the shelter.

The past days I've been working on turning my penguin habitat into a walkthrough, following the new update. I also let guests and animals into my zoo for a bit (I usually don't for performance reasons) but realised the traversable area doesn't work, nor do the guests walk through the entire thing, so there's some work to do.

Unable to sleep again, so I've finished the Sheep Meadow on my Farm and added a Area for a Sheep Herding Show.
🙃 A Shame I don't have a Dog. Hopefully no one will scam me by selling me a Wolf, claiming it's a Herding Dog.
Might post Pictures later

They look pretty similar to kelpies
Oh ok. Would like to have a more european looking Breed because the Farm is in Great Britain, but would also be a Option. A Shame it isn't possible to do a proper Sheep Herding Show. Would be so cool 🥰
We need Piebald Wolves😂
Because I would prefer a Border Collie for my Farm
