I am losing money, so I built a small pavillion with exhibit animals. It's an old building that has been modernized, so the interior is simple but cosy with the new wooden ceiling.
And the last enclosure of the petting zoo finally, decided to switch things up and add the Ring Tailed Lemurs. Does it match the size requriements for in game? no, but given this is a slightly less expensive zoo, it looks accurate imo.
I've barely played PZ this year and haven't managed to make any progress with Stringybark Zoo since the Oceania Pack dropped way back last September, but today I finally got the inspiration to return. First I added to some of the previous enclosures with cool mods that had released since I last played, starting by adding a small gang of long-nosed potoroos to the koala habitat (a mix I've seen irl). After that, I released a pair of black swans and a whole bunch of Pacific black ducks into to the Floodplains area, meant to represent wild birds that have taken up residence on the swampy lake that makes up this part of the zoo. The difference the presence of waterfowl makes to this section of the zoo is incredible, it feels so much more alive, and I spent a good while just watching the waterfowl and taking pretty pictures (none of which I can post here of course).
After the great waterfowling, I started on the new habitats, finally making progress on the Drylands area that previously only consisted of a red kangaroo + yellow-footed rock-wallaby enclosure. I was originally planning to put southern hairy-nosed wombats next to the macropods before progressing onto exotic desert/grassland animals, but I was struggling to come up with ideas for them so I decided to go straight into some African carnivores instead. I built these two simple enclosed habitats for the fennec fox and serval:
Directly across from the serval and fox I'm planning to build habitats for the meerkat and Cape porcupine (using African crested but they look identical so I just change the name on the info board), keeping all the smaller African mammals I want to include in the Drylands together in an area close to the start of the section before it progresses onto all the ungulates and large carnivores.
Given it's been a long while since I've posted about Stringybark Zoo, here's a species list for the zoo I made to get everyone back up to speed:
Entrance/South America (complete):
Capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris)
Spectacled Caiman (Caiman crocodilus)
Tufted Capuchin (Sapajus apella)*
Maned Wolf (Chrysocyon brachyurus)
Native Wildlife (complete): The Temperate Southeast
Finally started with the last major missing area of Biopark - the tropical hall in the Indonesian Islands section - and laying out the rest of the outdoor habitats in this section.
As the Research of the Veterinarian revealed, the crowned Sussex Chicken almost went extinct once, so I've decided to send a Group of them from the Farm to a Bird Park for Conservation Purposes
