Great to see what people are up to. I still have issues just making enclosures - gotta spend more time watching tutorials I think.
Time for Königs Beginner Tipps:
1. Rocks are your best friend, especally the faux rocks. If in doubt, a rock + some lowkey foliage like some grass, nettles or bushes do the trick
2. Sink in Trees for better bushes. Thats a huge one, i recommend you try that with the tiny beech tree and you will see what i mean.
3. Custom Fences >>>>>>>>> ingame Fences. Think about it, most enclosures especally for something like ungulates are quite empty when you go to the zoo. The framing around them is often what makes them pretty. + the ingame fence options are also kinda ugly. Try to experiment with all kinds of pieces, but as a starting point a stone base with mesh on top and some kind of post on one side allready does wonders. You put the post only on one side as your gonna copy pace that blueprint and its easier to just align the new one as the others second post then trying to make them overlap perfectly
4. Try to make a base foliage selection that you can build on for more special habitats. For example my standard europe pallete is the tiny beech tree, brumbles, nettles, fern and the pea bushes + a few different trees like beeches, oaks, pines, etc. Now if you want something stand out, you can simply mix up this foliage, for example i build an asian garden where these are still a rough baseline, but much less so with more asian plants like the ones with orange leafs and bamboo being allowed a leading role. Having a clear natural baselines makes the purposefully planted stuff for theming pop much more and make everything seem more cohesive
5. And finally like my art teacher in school allways told me, dont force yourself to work at any specific spot at any specific time. If you feel inspired in the moment to build on your main project, thats great! But if you dont and just want to decorate a staff section or something, just do that instead. Its very visible where you put your time, love and effort into your builds and where you just tried to get something done. So really, just have fun and do what ever you feel like and everything will not only be much easier, but prettier
