Is there a chance that bali mynah, snowy owl and if possible a green and a blue budgie could be part of such a pack?I was convinced by a person to make some bird props for the workshop since my blueprints are gaining quite the following, up until yesterday I was sure that I suck at making custom animals, there was no way I'm skilled enough to build them... and yet again I've proved myself wrong. Thinking off bird models that were needed for the workshop, the bald eagle came to mind with just how common these are in north american zoos. I used existing eagle models on the workshop as inspiration and to study the materials to bring my very first custom made animal which is build as a full model, most workshop birds are only viewable from one side.
As expected bird models will look rather ugly up close, these birds are not designed at all to be viewed up close but rather from a distance.

Place the same eagle in a tree and view it from say 50 metres away and it looks much nicer, the 2 color textures work exactly as I planned as they blend together to make a realistic looking bald eagle.

This does mean a new prop megapack is coming, I am open to requests for anyone looking for a specific bird to add to their zoos as my list grows in size.
Of course! Is there a chance that bali mynah, snowy owl and if possible a green and a blue budgie could be part of such a pack?
Looks soooo good, I love the whole vibe of your park, it really gives me the feeling walking through a beautiful "Wildpark". The foliage work is on point.Got the first half of the wisent enclosure pretty much finished. They will get a second part accessable to the right, for splitting up and stuff.
For the most time they all lay areound together in the shade under the big oak in the middle which looks so cool, ofcourse not when i want to take a picture...
Also found this educational sign about the wisents role as a keystone species which is a perfect fit, i wish i had these for every animal.

Fantastic work, too. Love all the individual signs made of the ingame signs, really giving this enclosure a unique vibeWorked on the Macaque Forest section of my Montana zoo, a small offshoot within the asian area with a troop of Japanese macaque and a small lake for the crowned crane adjacent to the macaque habitat. I have not finished the crane habitat yet so just showing the macaques for now. I did something new this time and actually put the animals in there and said who cares about my computer, i think the game was starting to become kind of lifeless without the animals, which makes sense as they are the point of the game.
Anyways, this habitat is meant to look very natural, with the climbing items interspersed throughout real trees, with a small creek flowing into a pool at the far end of the habitat. I have noticed in the small time watching them that they do actually play in the trees and ropes fairly often which is fun to see. Here is a photo of one in action:

Here is an overview of the habitat, the bottom section is a small plaza in the asian area of the zoo, the archway next to the building is the entrance to "macaque forest." Upper section is the planned crane exhibit.

First, from the plaza, you can see the indoor area for the macaques, with a few climbing features and toys for them.

Now lets enter the macaque forest!

Going under the arch, you pass a wall with an introduction to the area and a small info board with a window into another side of their indoor area. There were no macaques hanging out there at the time so i did not take a photo because the view from the window is rather boring. Here is the path though:View attachment 389140
Next you go up a slightly elevated path that cuts through a dense forest, with some fun facts posted along the way:

After exiting that path, you get to the main viewing window, with signs above with the names of each macaque in the exhibit.

If you look closely you might spot some guys running around!
The path then leads to a second viewing area, which gives a better view of the water feature, where the macaques can climb all over the rocks if they wish.

Still have some detailing to do but feeling pretty good about it so far!
I’m in love with this!Build a beaver enclosure behind the wisents today. Well enclosure isnt really the most fitting name, since like the wisents and red deer before this is basicly just a fenced off piece of nature.
Build this little boardwalk as an alternate route across the water so you can get a chance to see the beavers upclose, otherwise you can take the main route around the water.
At first i wanted to copy what my local zoo is doing where the "core" of the beaver lodge is a wooden box that you can view into via a window, but that felt a little to much for the "hiking trail made wildpark" vibe of this project. Definetly gonna do that for the next beaver habitat i build.
Also threw a very crude and temporary castle ruin up on the mountain to get a feel of that might look like in the future (and to check out the view from up there lets be real)

Looks really good, although i feel the proportions are a little off, like the head is to big and the legs to short.Made everyone's (well apparently) favourite bird for my static bird collection - the secretary bird!

I think it's the beak making it a little too big, im still experimenting on small beak designs that don't look awful. I just adjusted the head and legs a bit, the head took near an hour to build so I just made the beak shorter to hopefully compensate it. It's already 1.6 metres when the actual bird should already be 1.2m although that's still better than previous workshop 2.5 metre tall secretary bird.Looks really good, although i feel the proportions are a little off, like the head is to big and the legs to short.![]()
Oh yeah the scale is a real concern, kinda forgot about that. But this one does look alot more accurateI think it's the beak making it a little too big, im still experimenting on small beak designs that don't look awful. The hopefully better version:
