What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I finished the crocodile habitat and I'm happy with the result. It has a main viewing area, a side area with seating for the animal talk and an underwater viewing area.

Looks really great. Reminds me of the Fact that I definitely need to update the Crocodile Enclosure in Marine Center Hawaii. So far it is the worst Enclosure there, so this will probably be the next big Project after finishing the Bottlenose Dolphin Tank (I hope it won't take too long. That Thing is over 12 km² big. Even way bigger than the Polar Bear Dome which might also get a Update on the Inside at some Point. Not really happy anymore with how it looks)

Fir lake zoo recently teamed up with children in the local areas to design a fairytale-inspired habitat for the European Badgers. All proceeds and donations made for this habitat go to a fund that aims to safeguard the environment for future generations.

The first thing the children mentioned are mushroom houses for the badgers and fairies. Our habitat designer originally only made decorative ones. However, the children insisted on having mushrooms that the badgers can live in. After many hours of hard work, our team created artifical burrows with a mushroom entryway.

Our team were initially sceptical whether the badgers would accept their new homes with such non-discreet colours. After a few days, the badgers made these two burrows their new homes. They have even recently welcomed a new member to their family.

Frequented by families near and far, this popular habitat still has a little-known secret. Legend has it that between the hours of sunset and twilight, children and those pure of heart can see magical creatures in and around this enchanted mushroom forest.

Finally, this habitat would not be complete without the contribution of this community. The tiny Fairytale Mushrooms - by Humposaurus and the tiny fairy houses by beccaabboo.

Wow, fantastic work! Those two little wooden huts in the foreground must have been a pain to make.

@Ashmund_zoo : Oh thanks, I must have skipped that.

So, I started a lion habitat in Biopark today. Only the outdoor part which will still need some work of course. I'm going to add an indoor area and a second, smaller enclosure, too. The moat in the foreground will be filled with water. The moat in the back will stay empty and is the barrier between the lion habitat and the savannah habitat which will be built behind, so yeah it's another predator/prey habitat complex.

I've also built a carnivore proofed fence with overhang and hot wire (for which I used the new cables that came with the Europe pack).

Welcome to my nocturnal house! This is quite a big building, so I wanted to keep it as simple as possible to avoid having to use million pieces for the roof. All the habitat animals inside have also a small outdoor area so that they can have some direct sunlight. The building has two sides and a central corridor with entrances on both sides. People must go through the house when they follow the main route. It's a bit difficult to take a perfect picture indoors, so I'll do my best.

Exploring the right side of the house, you first come up with the lovely badgers:

Then you see the red pandas:

And lastly the binturong:

You will have to wait a little to explore the other side of the house, but I show you an overview of the building with all the outdoor areas too:

I really like him and am satisfied.
