What is the name of your exploration ship?

DBX: Sifeae Wespe
(“Wespe” – “wasp” in german, Sifeae – a sector in which I’ve made my first Elite rank with this babe)

Jumpoconda: Indie Anka
(for BGS-impartiality, in russian also a carriwitchet for female name Anka, Indians and some “domestic” jokes)

DSSA-Conda: Electric Delight
(also some kind of joke, if somebody still knows a French band “Rockets” with this hit song and video of 1979 – true sight to behold)

AspX (also for DSSA): Gadget Hackwrench
(ad honorem to a character of „Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers“ series: Gadget is a female mouse who is the pilot, mechanic and inventor. Fuel- und Repair limpet controllers included).

My current exploration ship is a Sidewinder names Clarence.
My previous exploration ship was a Vulture named Tribore.
My one before that was a Beluga named Quinn.
I have a Clipper waiting for my next expedition named Mooncake.

All of my ships, not just those built for exploration, are named after Final Space characters (I think I have the entire cast at this point). It's one of my favorite shows.

There are too many stars here,
and the heavens are never truly dark.
Oh, clouds can disguise it,
but even they don't hide the light.

Crowds of people move to and fro,
pursuing their motivations of the moment.
It seems to me a sad thing
to be so crowded, yet so alone.

Growing up on a far shore,
I did not know what a goose was.
Yet, in this time and at this place,
I can clearly hear the call of the wild geese.

I know that soon, I must go.
Humanity and I no longer share the same things,
and soon, I know I must again follow
the Wild Goose on to Distant Worlds.

A Dolphin named FGES Wild Goose

I like to name all my ships, vehicles, guns, etc., be they virtual, OR real. Hell, I even named my crew's Humvee (I'm a Cav Scout in the US Army) Clarrissa, after an old nickelodeon show I used to watch (I had a crush on the main character back when I was a kid).

As for Elite, my Diamondback Explorer was called "Elon's Musk". But my new ship, the Asp X, is called "Golden Apples", a reference to Ray Bradbury's "Golden Apples of the Sun", a sci fi short story about a ship captain commanding a super-cooled spaceship specifically designed to fly close to the sun to steal some of the sun's fire, which, is pretty much exactly what we do when fuel scooping, so it seemed appropriate.

What about you, fellow explorers?

I fly a 50ly jump range Imperial Cutter called: The Oracle

ha ha got 3 of them Krait Phantom is the "Discovery" gues im not the only one using this lol. Anaconda for long Range is the "Far Out" and got some aspx from the old days my first exploration ship the "Sir Jump a Lot" thats the name ill like most xd.

I normally use dolphins for exploration, and they are named:
Silent Lucidity
Resplendent in silence
Echoes of silence

I also have an eagle which I took to BP and Ishum's Reach - The seventh veil

Echoes of silence

I particularly like this one, right up my street. My call sign on all my ships is X4E because ATC always announce it as 'X-ray for Echo' and I like the trippy idea of x-raying echoes.

I'm changing the name of my Dolphin explorer to 'Spirit of the Age' (Hawkwind song, check it out).

It's a sort of swipe (ship name, not the song) at this age of FLEET CARRIERS. Just a lonely CMDR in a small ship, floating around space, not some bloke in his 100ft Winnebago glamping it up at Glastonbury.

Some of my recent ones:

Tensor Anomaly (Beluga)
Void Anomaly (Orca)
Apex Epiphany (Imperial Eagle)
Astral Ascension (Imperial Courier)
Luminous Vision (Krait Phantom)

My Krait Phantom is Stella Alba, "White Star" in Latin. My AspX is Rimor in Caelum, "Sky Traveller". Don't know why, but I like to name my explorer ships in Latin.

Now returning to the bubble to finally buy my FC (yes, I'm a bit late to the party 🙂).

My main exploration ship is my 51ly/jump Asp Explorer, which I chose to christen 'Ranyhyn', after the Great Horses of Ra in Stephen R. Donaldson's 'The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant' series.

One of mine is named Wurd of the Waynhim.
Although I'm out near the core piloting AspX Do As You Ought II right now

Very rusty Cobra mkii - 'Moonage Daydream" and an equally rusty Krait mkii - 'The Roy Batty'.
