What the hell? When did this get introduced?

Vin, you've been there, how much do they pay for UP?

You know, I didn't check. One thing I did check was the GalMap, though, and let me tell you - this place is about to have itself a Thargoid problem.

BGS has been a part of the game since launch, no?

This is what Elite is - a vast, impersonal galaxy. You arent the hero, you're a brick in the wall and thus subject to the slings and arrows of galactic circumstance. The station in question is a popular one, thus the Lockdown should lift pretty sharpish thanks to concerted player activity. And IIRC its already been UA bombed, so I dont think it can get shut down like that again...?

So there's this thing called a Background Simulation...

Marmosets took over Borscht, so I moved. :(

The Chicken Coop is a better system for prices, and there is a nice GG for mining.

BGS can be annoying, if you have little interest in it. The only solution is to move.

I don't know about the last part. You can, however, go into lockdown over and over again. And lockdown is a faction-wide state, so...

I'm on my way home, OP (gotta get back to the work week, you know?), and am meandering all the way back, murderin' and robbin' and... taking... what I want along the way. Currently in Wolf 1301, where Exo has a strong presense. So definitely don't go there. Picked up some nice stuff from their pilots though :)

Lockdowns are far less of a faff than UA bombings though, lets be honest.

Move to Shinrarta then. No lockdowns, no black market (=no UA bombings), best outfitting in the galaxy, and the neighborhood has everything you may ever need (all three material traders, powerplay anarchy, pristine system with all four ring types, and so on).

Murder hobos are fairly common, though, so don't go there in Open.

I actually think that sounds pretty cool. A nuisance at times of course, but I like that the BGS have genuine effects on the gameplay and that you can help avoid it or "cure" it.

You should be able to fly to another station, then transfer your modules or ships. As Koen points out, you could also help to get the station out of lockdown.

This.

I recall, a while back, a bunch of people were losing their poop because their combat ships were "stuck" at a CG delivery station which went into lockdown; complaining that they couldn't get their ships in order to help resolve the lockdown.

Hello? Ship transfer. ;)

Then go play those ones & cease your pathetic whining. I'm sure you can get all of the titles you mention in some Steam Sale.

Mr. Positivity over here, folks....

That's sweet!
Its Diaguandri...

God knows, it also seems to lay directly in the path of the advancing Thargoids ^^

Okay, this bugs me. There's dozens upon dozens of LYR systems that are *just as viable as Diaguandri* - if not better! - to buy ships and equipment at. And that's just from me browsing eddb.io whenever I've bought something!

Why is it that so many players try to congregate on singular systems when there's *hundreds*, more like *thousands*, of perfectly viable options out there???

There's really nothing special about Ray Gateway except that people keep mentioning it on reddit or in "quick Elite guides" and whatever. It's deeply misinforming to act as though Ray Gateway is the only stop-and-shop location available. Gah!

My HQ went into lockdown the day before 3.0 dropped. I always pick a planetary base with at least one other on the same planet for just such an emergency.

I flew to the other base which wasn't in lockdown, and transferred all my ships and modules over to the new one. Being that the new location was like 3.00mm from my original it cost practically nothing to do and literally took less than 5 minutes for all the stuff to come over.

Maybe try that approach next time?

Being able to work around with ship transfer is no twisted logic but rather unintended by FD.

Should be no problem to fix this :D

Just don't allow transfers from shut down stations.

Or just do as I do and have a bunch of ships dotted around the bubble. I'm usually a hop and a skip away from whatever I want at any given time 😁

You are wrong, you do but you don't know. We all do. Every time you earn 1Cr, it affects something in the bgs

Yeah I know. But what I should of said is I dont care about bgs or try to change it.
Its like in real life. Things happen I just continue what I'm doing. For example in real life if you lived in a place that was under martial law ( equivalent to lock down ) you go out a kill a bunch of rebels or whatever your not going to affect martial law.

Bringing real life here doesn't work, but if you want to try, then think as if your system is your building, and someone going up and down broke the elevator, now you have to go up 7 levels by foot until it is fixex. This is closer to what has happened to you.

And again. I know the bgs is there in the background. But I dont care about it. I dont purposely go out of my way to influence it. If something happens in the system I'm in that I dont like I leave. Some people may like trying to influence the bgs and get all excited about it. But I dont and thats all I was saying I dont play the bgs.

I agree the lockdown is horrible. Prevents player from playing their game with stuff they earned or paid for and being forced to do something else. Another example of game encouraging people to quit game. Also a waste of life transferring ships just to transfer ships. I did so much fricking grinding to get my Anaconda and now they give the player a big FU, you can't use it in lockdown, go play another game. It seems so funny that they advertise and promote: "Hey look at these great ships, hey the new Chieftan, buy these cool laser colors, buy this great paint job, buy these great custom add ons, so customers do, then ED says great new lockdown concept, you can't use anything you paid for. ED always erring on the side of boring and foolishness. Why don't they advertise lockdown and put it on the front page?
