Winter DLC Speculation

Arachnophobia's still mostly there though and will probably never end completely
I've noticed that phobias can also be linked to stress. If you're under a lot of stress and/or anxiety, your phobias can get worse (speaking from personal experience). There are days I'm ok with spiders (just a little uncomfortable but not bad), and there are days where I have to leave because I can't stand them

Luckily for me it's only getting bad if Spiders (especially the relatively big ones) are getting close. In the Past I couldn't even be in the same Room.
🙃 Even included Spiders in some of my Zoos because only the real ones strike me with Fear. Can even look at Photographs and be fine.
Those are the ones I mean:
Glad I didn't need to catch one of those since a few Years. Have one in the Room but luckily it stays far enough away from me

It's worth noting that not every fear is a phobia. I was afraid of dogs as a kid, until a german shorthair pointer decided I'm his best friend in the world and I either had the chance to adapt or just die of fear. Cliff made my a dog lover and I will forever miss him and if heaven existst, I'll spend a bunch of time with him before I will be even ready to meet family members. He taught me so much. Much more than just "dog stuff". But the fact that he was able to and I was able to let go of the fear all by myself made it exactly that: a fear.

I have a phobia of wasps and the difference already shows by the irrationally. I get a higher heart rate when I see pictures of wasps, when I see them rhough a closed window because they try to get in, I can not set a foot into a bakery in summer unless someone I trust very much with reacting when one comes to close to me and it's octobre now and I already dread the thought of summer and wasps.
I know a wasp can't do anything to me when the window is closed - my body still reacts. That is a clear sign of a phobia.

To get back to topic: Now I need to watch someone play career mode to get the "foreshadowing", but a mountain pack does not seem unlikely for winter, really.

If mountain pack really comes, and is an animal pack, I hope fourth time's a charm and wolverine finally makes it.

In scenery pack hardly, but in the other case I think one of the 7 places could be spared on not that strictly mountain inhabitant.

Of course, not to mention, mountain is a pretty rich concept, so there's many cool choices that would make me content with Wolverine's absence

I’d think they’d broaden the theme to ‘Highlands’ to include animals that live in actual mountains ranges and also animals that generally live up high.
A lineup could consist of something like:

• Scottish Highland Cattle
• Wolverine
• Alpine Marmot
• Spectacled Bear
• Barbary Macaque
• Gelada
• Sichuan Takin
• Chinese Giant Salamander (E)

Lovely pack. But those salamanders are way to big for the current exhibit imo. They can get humansize afterall. Would love to see them in an exhibit update with bigger tank tho. together with anacondas and bigger pythons

I mean I like your pack and the Visayan Spotted Deer would be a cool addition. In spring I saw them at Opel Zoo close to Frankfurt, Germany. But I really do not share your antipathy against carnivores 😀.

Especially for South America we only have 2 carnivoran mammals with the Jaguar and the Giant Otter. I know the Cougar, but I associate it more with North- and Central America. I really would like to see the Ocelot for example but Fishing Cat is okay, too. The other three South American carnivorans I would like to have are not associated with rainforests but Maned Wolf and Spectacled Bear are a must in my opinion. And the Bush Dog would be a curious introduction.
No offense, but in what world is monkey/armadillo > ocelot a controversial opinion?
That has nothing to do with anti carnivore bias, especally if there is another small cat in the pack

Now that we've gotten some time to analyze the walkthrough exhibit system I think it's most suitable for something like a rainbow lorikeet--not too big, lives in large groups, very common as a walkthrough aviary animal. Maybe the aviary pack could add a feeding station feature for walkthrough exhibits and habitats that could apply to a couple existing species like the llama.

I also like the "Highlands" approach. I like your ideas, but would maybe swap out Cattle and Macaque to include some more "exotic" animals, as last few packs leaned heavily (justifiably so) on EU/NA region.

Here's my take on the idea:

Looking at the meta wishlist, there are a few good choices;
  • Takin.
  • Hamadryas baboon.
  • Markhor.
  • Spectacled bear.
  • Wolverine.
They'd probably throw in the Pallas cat, too.

If we get the baboon it's an insta-buy for me.
Tbh, the baboon would be the only thing that excites me here. Wolverine is nice.
I still fear we won't get the sloth bear if we get the spectacled and I waaaaant one. Even though Frontier hates fluff.

In a perfect world, all 3 missing bear species would be added. ABB (sorry if y'all hate it, but it IS important to NA), sloth bear (🎶Look for the, Bear Necessities...🎶), spectacled (smart-looking bear)

Not that I need the european brown bear, but if we add the american black bear it has every right, too.
That's the one Bear I definitely still need. But I don't really see it making it into the Game due to us already having two Brown Bears and the other ones looking more unique. I'd also like the American Black Bear though
