Mara is caviomorph. Rodent family that evolved in south america. Capybara, guinea pig etc..Correct me if im wrong but arent Maras lagomorphs too? Those guys are pretty common.

Ok nvm they arentCorrect me if im wrong but arent Maras lagomorphs too? Those guys are pretty common.
Actually they are more closely related to the in-game Capybara (which is a rodent). Through convergent evolution, Maras have developed some physical similarities with lagomorphs. So it's understandable how they can be mistaken for one!Correct me if im wrong but arent Maras lagomorphs too? Those guys are pretty common.
I mentioned petting zoos:Whether its domestic breeds
But I don't count that. You wouldn't say sheep are common in zoos just because a lot of zoos keep lambs around for the kids. I also mentioned pika.outside of petting zoos
I've seen people say this a lot and it's so weird to me. They're an invasive pest in NZ. Can't imagine why they're endangered when they're so hard to get rid of.I want european rabbit:
I actually would say that sheep are common in zoos though. Doesn't mean that I would personally put domestic sheep at the top of my personal wishlist, but I'd be lying if I said that they aren't common in zoos. If an animal is housed and exhibited in a zoo, it's a zoo animal.I mentioned petting zoos:

Prob because NZ has no natural predatorsI mentioned petting zoos:

Basicly we got a tasmanian devil situation on our hand.I've seen people say this a lot and it's so weird to me. They're an invasive pest in NZ. Can't imagine why they're endangered when they're so hard to get rid of.
I find it hard to imagine why anyone would want a hare at all. Lagomorphs aren't really represented in real zoos all that much as it is, outside of petting zoos and the occasional pika.
You could even do what I have seen the last Time I was in a Zoo. Put a Null Barrier somewhere and have them roaming the Park Grounds as wild AnimalsI want european rabbit:
- endangered
- another animal from europe (and africa)
- completly new species introduced to the game
- anyone can pretend its domestic version and use it in petting zoo areas
- absolutely cute and would be popular for average player base
- present in zoos (saw wild version irl)
This one would also be nice thoughI wouldn’t mind a mountain hare having seen them in four zoos in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
They are also kept as a free roaming Animal (often?) in ZoosI agree with you that Maras would make for a fun inclusion in PZ though. They are pretty common in zoos globally, pretty unique in their physical appearances, and would help better represent an area of the world that right now is pretty under-represented in PZ (we really need some South American, Pampas-native species)
Another Man's Trash is another ones TreasureI've seen people say this a lot and it's so weird to me. They're an invasive pest in NZ. Can't imagine why they're endangered when they're so hard to get rid of.
Goats are definitely more important (probably the most common Petting Zoo Animal). Cameroon Sheep seem to be a very common Petting Zoo SheepI actually would say that sheep are common in zoos though. It has Birds of Prey like the New Zealand Falcon though. But sadly this isn't really enough due to the Fact how quick Rabbits can reproduceProb because NZ has no natural predators
Those Animals would be absolutely great to have in the Game and after working in Real Life with a Donkey, I want them even more in the Game than beforeDiverging from the original point a bit, I really want to see a goat, donkey, and maybe either an "exotic" cattle like zebu or Ankole-Watusi
In eurasia they are suffering from both a cancer and illness epidemic, greatly reducing their numbers.
My ideal pack:I personally want more canines. Arctic fox to red fox was an entire cycle of dlcs and the 3rd of both fall dlcs.
I could honestly see frontier throwing an oddball such as a jackal or a coyote in the future.
I think we are probably gonna get a break from foxes for the time being, would be nice to have the bat eared but we got 3 foxes.
I also want to add that maras, together with the lamas, would make a fun mixed-species enclosure (my local zoo, the Wilhelma in Stuttgart has a combined habitat for them), and could really help represent the non-tropical part of SA.I agree with you that Maras would make for a fun inclusion in PZ though. No disrespect at all, but lagomorphs are pretty common in zoos. Whether its domestic breeds, hares, rabbits, or pikas most European and North American zoos have at least one.
They are far more common as a group, than say, Kiwis are in zoos globally. And I still would like to see a Kiwi as well.
Additionally, lagomorphs are incredibly unique both anatomically and taxonomically speaking. There is nothing in-game that is a close substitute for any of them and they are currently impossible for modders to even semi-accurately achieve.
I'm so happy to see more users supporting the addition of rabbits, they are my most wanted addition in the game right now considering how many good reasons there are to have them (common in zoos, conservation-relevant, cute, overall a completely unique and interesting group). Same with waterfowl such as swans and ducks, they are unique and incredibly useful additions imoI want european rabbit:
Not sure if you are joking but the domesticated Dog should get Interspecies Enrichment with the CheetahMy ideal pack:
Coyote
Golden jackal
Iberian wolf
Mexican grey wolf
Red wolf
New Guinea singing dog
Domestic dog (golden retriever)
Terrifyingly rabbit hermoraghic disease is now rampant in North Anerica as well and has mutated to affect all lagomorphs including hares and native cottontails who were previously thought to be imune. :'(Its quite ironic, the european rabbit originated from the iberian peninsula, southern france and the atlas mountains of north africa, only spreading into the rest of europe after the last ice age.
And now they are considerd endangerd in their native range while endangering other species everywhere else.
The devestating threat when a virus crosses an ocean isnt to be underrestimated.
Really hope lots of Zoos keep the native Species thenTerrifyingly rabbit hermoraghic disease is now rampant in North Anerica as well and has mutated to affect all lagomorphs including hares and native cottontails who were previously thought to be imune. :'(
You forgot the tank animal. i propose the chihuahuaMy ideal pack:
