And the last remaining one:

Enhanced it a bit. I have a degree of color blindness and it was hard to make out the pattern.

NGC 40 aka Bow Tie nebula is... interesting. The Wolf-Rayet is sandwiched between two essentially opaque "structures". I have hard time believing this is just a shoddy skybox - given the amount of attention FD spends on visuals. Anyway, this is the closest I've ever seen to something resembling a Dyson Sphere in this game.

The whole place looks very "artificial" and not particularly "human-made".

Edit: I've been looking through some older videos to compare and that's not what it used to look like. Hmm.

it's possible the newer upgrades to the cobra engine could have borked the skybox too. The flame nebula is a good example of that. It always gets broken.

That's a bummer. I was really hoping it wasn't that broken. Given it's green, and those are pretty fine geometric shapes... Also, honestly how cool of a sci-fi narrative.

Well seeing how connected Elite and the 2001 odyssey series is I wouldn't be surprised if what we are looking for is a black ominus monolith out in deep space. Or something that resembles an object from the books. But to be back on track within the game. Is it possible to increse the speed of a Gravity well or do they all just slow a ship down? There's something i want to try around jackson's lighthouse.

I enjoyed Starfield, as long as I ignored the supernormal stuff (lost interest at the end when it was time to go through into the multiverse ), it was nice to get interesting dialogue and depth to the missions.
Get the bartender's shotgun asap from behind the bar down in the Well!

Never been thrilled by the NMS graphics.

Those 1st few days of 'Starfield' were pretty amazing & fun.
Then i finally discovered this Elite Dangerous and realized what a real SPACE-SIM is all about. 🌟

Agreed. And tbqh, i often wish Elite D had just a bit more story-driven mission arcs. ( to give players a bit more direction sometimes )

Agreed x 2. Way too cartoonish for me.
However, broken-record as i may sound, gosh if Elite D somehow someway somewhen implemented similar on-ground habitable/diggable ( fauna/flora, etc. ) type content as 'NMS' seems to have ... well heck there'd be no stopping this game as the undisputed SPACE g.o.a.t. !

Back more on-topic...

Yesterday, in between foolishly trying to "argue" on forums about Fleet Carrier times/ranges ( sheesh lol ) , i was continuing my newb yet fantastical effort to help our 'Search for RAXXLA' and i stumbled upon a system ( in or near the bubble i think ) whereby i dropped into an instance i thought was gonna be just another "random" ICE Megaship ( it had the same icon & "mercenary" designation on leftside Nav panel-1 ) but instead it turned out to be some floating BEACON....which i of course decided to scan.

Once i scanned it , my game automatically prompted an in-game mail with 3 voice-logs attached to it by someone named "Joy" . So, of course i listened to each log, captivated thinking yet again that i had somehow "discovered" something special pertaining to RAXXLA. Eventually, after re-reading each sub-mail log, i saw a system mentioned called HIP 22460 ( relating to Thargoids , but also seemed sorta cryptic ) .

So then, of course i head over to HIP 22460 , pilot-palms sweaty from anticipation.... And when i arrive at that system, it's totally discovered already ( each planet & body ) and i then realize i must've stumbled upon something from years past?
Regardless, i started exploring and found 2 strange ( well, strange to me ) instances i dropped into.... The 1st of which, shown here, also prompted me ingame mail msg:

neestar25_hip2246oh1 - Copy.jpg

...and then later this other one....

neestar25_hip2246oh2 - Copy.jpg

...Which of course made me wish i had brought my last remaining 'Trinket of Hidden Fortune' in cargo hold. UGH the one time i didn't bring it!!!
Anyways, i'm going to presume neither of these 2 ^ screenshots/locations are valuable nor relevant to RAXXLA search at all ?

Yes. I keep returning to ED, cos I love the graphics..every time I descend down to a planet surface, see the atmosphere bridging between the planet and space. But if FD would learn how to give decent missions with depth and dialogue and a story, this game would be a world beater.

Still, I'm currently getting fed up in EDO trying to get the mats to befriend engineers and upgrade suits & weapons. Im getting stuck on Chemical Superbase, Graphene, Manufacturing Instructions at the moment. Ive got to Friendly with the factions in my current system but cant seem to get to Allied to get better missions. So, Ive been flying around ED for almost 10 years and got Allied with lots of minor factions and that doesnt decay with time (while Superpower status does), so how do I find the nearest system where I'm already Allied with most/all the factions?

Edit
Found a way - you start to set up a squadron you don't need to compete that setup), which provides you a list of the factions you're allied with. However there is another way- EDD has a Factions pop out panel that also reports this. Faction status appears to be reported in the Journal file after an FSDJump event, so Ive suggested that would be a useful thing to add to EDD's history filter page. Knowing when I became Friendly or Allied to a faction would have been useful in testing several Raxxla hypotheses, and if progress through a "personal journey" in ED is part of MB's path to Raxxla then it may prove to be of significant assistance .

So yes hip 22460 was just recently liberated from the thargoids control. It was the straw that broke the camels back for the thargoids and the thargoids got angry at humanity after a sol human was trying to silence them. To take their anger out on the human like pest they sent in their Titans to teach the humans a lesson. Well it backfired on the thargoids and now they have Pieces of what used to be their Titan war machines. There's a ton of unfinished stories in that system and it prob hides something still other than the 2 permit locked moons.

My squadron and many many others fought along side Salvations bright sentinal ship securing it from attacks and communication distruptions by their mighty hydra's so that the proteus wave may fire and silence the thargoids. This for the human's side of the battle at start backfired and it empowerd the thargoids to use our weapons as a means of immunity from our attacks.

Exactly which system is it , CMDR ? ( if you're allowed to say? )
No, these are the destroyed megaships that were delivering materials and holding off thargoids until the surface site Salvation pulse.
ah ok , sounds very cool and thanks for the reply!

Sounds super fun & EPIC and i'm bummed i missed all that! Any old videos showing it or official 'Galnet' articles about it? ( i'll check Thargoids section later )
Since joining the game a year or so ago, i only managed to participate in 4 Titans i believe, of those 9 "post lesson" versions , but i had an absolute blast on each battle . Really unique content, imo.

yep that was gonna be my next question lol i been trying for hours to figure out why/how or if it was even possible to get access to those 2 permit moons....

yeah youtube should have videos of the hip22460 battles before, during, and post war. There should also be videos of the game's intro's that introduced the war both as the wave fired and when the titans arrived.

Well we all want the moons unlocked originally it was just the moon with the Proteus on it. But someone figured out how to yeet themselves to the other moon since being in an srv to the planet negated the pushback barrier. They will be unlocked when fdev decides to unlock them. But yeah explore the rest of the system. There's a hidden base there that Azimuth once owned.

Makes me miss DW2 all over again.

Noticed he avoiding using the blue teleportation tube to get into the ship, opting to "walk" in instead. A subtle dig for ship interiors? 😁

Beautiful video! 👍
well we are suppose to get a new ship feature at the end of the year. I and many others are hoping maybe. this time. Hopefully. If they did that they would be attracting way more users.

Only if they put a real coffee machine in, with biscuits (chocolate digestives)!!!

Yep, DW2 was great. I tried to find my favourite pic- high aboove the galaxy at Goliath's Rest (?), but couldnt paste it in.
