And that in a nutshell is why players go to Deciat to shoot at other players
Other player groups go go great length to organize get togethers for their respective purposes. And yet a certain subset of players is content with just the lowest effort to find other players's ships to make them go boom, brazenly claiming to "seek the challenge of a human opponent" while at the same time just going for the low hanging fruit of attacking the weakest enemy they can find - the new player going to grandma Farseer for the first time, possibly being unaware of even the existence of gankers or the danger of going there in open.
I am aware this may only be anecdotal, and for sure I am just Grandpa Simpson yelling at clouds, but within my limited experience with going to places like Deciat, Sol or ShinDez in open, often I only see gankers attack the weaker players, while running from each other (in the rare case they are not teaming up against the weaker players to make the challenge even greater).
I am not saying all PvPers are gankers, and I am aware that there is some effort being made by some to organize proper PvP events (what happened to San Tu as the "PvP hub" - not enough easy targets?), but claiming to be a "true PvPer" and not a ganker (honestly, ma!) and simultaneously stating that Deciat is the place to go because "that's where people to shoot at are" is just... lame.
Quite a few PvPers (not all, mind you) exude just such a whiff of superiority over all the carebears, forum dads and cowards hiding in solo and PG, and yet the only way to get some action is to go to the newbie spots? Either those are really a tremendously lazy bunch of slackers, of this is either just highly hipocritical or just plain lying.
