Hotas or at least joystick..
Buy VA too if u can...

Edit:
I started with kbm.. and took me awhile to adjust to joystick.. mouse might feel more precise, but you should be able to do the same in joystick too..

And it's better IMO coz it has hat butts, trigger, thumb etc that nicely placed..

Play with hotas for a week and get back to kbm.. you'll know the different...

HOTAS... Saitek X52, plus a 10" touchscreen running Touchbuddy. :)

Just ordered that tonight as well. My other HOTAS didn't have enough buttons. :D

When I got my X55, I immediately fell in love with the rugged construction and feel, but thought I would NEVER use all the buttons & switches. With ED I have used every single one and actually thought I could use another couple ;)

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick and KB. the only base button I use on the joystick is one I have bound for landing gear. I find the KB much easier to use when a button press is needed.

Not sure where joystick and KB are supposed to be on your poll though so I'll check "Combination"

Joystick and pedals. Throttle integrated into the joystick. Not enough buttons to fly with FA off, so I need to revert to keyboard controls when needing lateral thrust (as in docking).

The HOTAS system would be nice, but so far the plain joystick and pedals combo has been sufficient. Perhaps when the joystick breaks I'll go full HOTAS..

Keyboard and Mouse here, I would love a HOTAS setup but sadly I am left-handed.

Now if only Saitek and FD would come together and do a custom ED left-handed HOTAS.

I was thinking of getting a joystick, but then found the M+K worked pretty good so I held off. Also, I play on the couch with a laptop, so joystick probably would fall over without a solid base, while the mouse works fine on the armrest.

Is that thing more robust than the X52 Pro? The X52 turned out to be a $10 toy in a $200 box.

Keyboard & mouse. Have tried joystick but frankly it felt horrible. Haven't tried hotas but I suppose without the throttling thing it's just a regular joystick so it wont be any difference. Is it so?

x55 Hotas here. Bought for this game. Saitek/Madcats must love FD! I think they haven't solt a tenth of the numbers they sell now.
