Coriolis.io - A new ship builder and comparison tool

Was able to test it on an other computer.
Could be pretty, but police used is far to tiny and not really lisible. Hurt eyes badly.
I don't want to have to zoom only for the use of one unique site.

wow - love this - excellent work good sir - the only thing missing a is a donate button - work like this needs rewarding!

Outstanding work. For a long time that I was hoping for an outfitting tool with good design and a more polished implementation. Coriolis.io definitely seems like a major step forward. It adds to the immersion of planning ship builds that is such a major part of this game. Well done.

cmmcleod, I have to ask. Is there any chance that you release a similar tool for the iPhone in the future? I understand that coding and deployment works entirely different in this platform but it would be just awesome to have a good native Elite tool on iOS. I know that many others would delight in such a solution.
If not possible, please at least make the webapp a little more friendly and adapted to mobile interfaces. Even on the iPhone 6 Plus it's hard to use in its current state.

Thank you for your efforts. These are the things that deserve praise from all in the community!

Works on iphone, but you need to click on actions for over one second to register as a lmb click.

I don't think I'll build a native iOS app (essentially redoing everything and only for iOS). I will however improve the layout and add responsiveness to support Mobile displays and improve tablet display. The layout as it is needs plenty, plenty of work and improvement. But it will come!

Yeah, that touch handler plugin I used (ngTouch) is crap. Will replace with something better, and already have candidates!

That is good news. Thanks! Looking forward to it and I'll be glad to test it on different iOS devices with as many builds as possible.

There is something I'm missing from your current version though. The units you are using for rating in Fuel Scoops is relevant but not ideal. Take the example of a 5A Fuel Scoop, in Coriolis it states a rate of 0.577 t/s while in ED Shipyard we get a rate of 577 kg/s (55s to fill). The rate is the same but I believe that the rate we get in-game when scooping is presented in kg/s right? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but mostly I'm finding the usage of t/s units confusing as they differ from the ones we have in-game. Additionally the information of the time to fill the tank, in this case 55s on a Python is interesting to see at glance and I wish you would consider adding it.

Keep up the good work. Right on commander.

Yeah fair enough. Good suggestion for kg/s (I was going for consistency of T's throughout the app, but I think you are right). Fill time is coming soon. I'll get around to it this evening!

Way BETTER than ED Shipyard! Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary of PROs Over EDSY:

* Nicer more robust Layout

* Shows fractions of % (Will show 100.34% vs 100%) letting you know that you're a hair over unlike EDSY or ED itself.

* Incorporated each SCB recharge stats in MJ from this wonderful SCB testing thread and chart (link below)!!!

This is a much nicer layout than EDSY!

You can even turn off modules like EDSY which is great. I couldn't find it at first but then started clicking on stuff and viola!

Plus the power percentages account for fractions rather than rounding which is even better. Using Coriolis I can see 100.34% vs the rounded 100% which takes the guessing and trial error testing when you're over by a fraction. No need to test the config only to realize you couldn't see it was over by a hair.

Another BONUS with Coriolis vs EDSY... It shows the SCB recharge stats in MJ per this wonderful thread:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=137188

Now I don't need that SCB chart open as the info has been incorporated into the SCB stats in Coriolis! Nice!!

Thanks again. It's really nice how you're dedicated to improve this and further polish.

Just another input, this time concerning consistency and elegance of design (UI). It's a small detail but it makes a big difference visually in my opinion. Also makes it easier to compare at glance several ships and quickly see how many hardpoints of each size they have without mixing them together. Tell me what you think of this suggestion.

Thanks for the ideas. The general consensus is to move to 2 seperate columns one for hardpoints, and another for utility mounts. This should make things a bit better. Will update tonight.

I'm using a 1440x2560 res (whqd in portrait mode) and I think the new layout borked something for my resolution :'(
