The Star Citizen release numbering system is completely meaningless, they haven't yet made it to the heady heights of an alpha release.
Logically future performance is dictated by past performance, it's not looking good for the game.
Actually it is.
But maybe you failed to Notice.
Pushing the Release is something not Originally Planned.
So they will likely Skip Beta Stages and work from the Alpha to Release.
And well. From what I.ve seen and Played in Star Citizen so Far.
Just having this Game I played with lets say 20-30 Star Systems. Would be AWESOME.
Now Given that even when Focusing on actually Creating Map and Mission Content. Instead of Introducing and working on more Features.
You can Expect them to not entirely Stop Work on other Parts.
So Some Bugfixes and Polishing are something that going to happen.
And here we are talking about the 2.5 Alpha.
Now next Month we will actually get 3.0 Alpha from which we actually saw the Demo.
You see Mate.
Features and Mechanics used in SC. Are already pretty Far Developed.
Even if they do absolutely no Additional Work on that after Alpha 3.0
And only Increase the World. By adding more Stations, NPCs, Missions etc.
The Game would be beyond anything currently available.
Its more than enough for an MPV. And since adding Systems, Stations, Missions etc. Is not actually any change of Features. But simply an increase of Content. Its not really a Challenging Work in terms of Difficulty.
But more an Challenge in terms of Man Hours Work.
Depending on how much Deep Coding they use for this. I could likely Create Systems, Stations and Even Missions with my Limited Programming Skillset.
(Albeit I would of course only be able to use already Finished Parts of Motion Capture. And I would not be able to Create Voiced Missions

. Then again I assume not all Missions will be Voiced. The Mission Board Stuff will likely be Computer Terminal Missions you get in Text. As a sort of Daily Random Generated Missions. And only certain Special Missions will be Fully Voiced)
