The Star Citizen Thread v5

I'll honestly admit this:
When I first saw that I was ALMOST to bite the bullet and pay up some cash.
I guess, I was "lucky" that I did not liked their ships design from the start, to me they looked like shiny yet fighters or helicopters...and those cluttered cockpits for some ships, just bad design of end user...
If they looked like Elite ships, i would definitely spend some extra cash then only 80$...

Well we have the same thing in ED (engineer bases, crashed ships which by the way blend quite poorly into the terrain in many cases, now fumaroles and geysers...), yet I don't hear people complaining about it.

Thats because this is the star citizen thread, there's the rest of the forum for incessant complaining about ED.

maybe someone didn't notice it, but many of us had the suspect that the last moments of the starcitizen con
was a short demonstration of a squadron 42 level.

I am talking about that ''beautiful sunset on planet'' moment while flying with a gladius.

In fact, if you re-watch it carefully, at some point you can see the face of mark hamill on the little monitor of the ship..
I am pretty sure that this was the ''missing demo '' of the show regarding squadron 42.

Probably they had a some issues at the very last moment before the show (that's why the delay)
but something was ''free to be showed''.and so they did it, without saying it.
Chris said nothing on it, but i am pretty sure it's so.

I'm pretty sure you are slightly deluded.

Sorry mate but, CIG failed. Hard.

At their own showcase event of the year.

The fact that you are reduced to trying to extract a kernel of comfort from a very brief moment of that sorry showcase which likely came from the abandoned Squadron 42 segment of it, speaks *volumes* about just how bad it was for CIG on Sunday.

Stop trying (badly) to sugar coat it.

Ofcourse. But I have impression that some people are trying to ridicule stuff seen in SC demo, like SRV wheels not always touching the surface, while in the same time SRVs in ED -game which went live two years ago btw- can get goofy in very similar way. It's a bit unfair tbh.

you are kidding me i suppose.
a sort of wierd ironic tentative to make me laugh ?

This demo was showed 2 months ago (not 1 year ago or whatever)

now (citizencon) we had a demo that (in some aspects) shows some improvments of what we already saw last time in august.

And you have the courage to talk about a ''fail'' ?

hahahahaha

this thread is becoming hilarious, seriously.

i can't wait to see what all of you will write in this thread within a year (or so).

One difference is, the SRV wheels can get goofy, but on average they follow the surface very well (coincidentally enough, I have just closed ED beta after observing my SRV driving at 10 m/s, the suspension work was perfect), while SC's not-Mako seems almost floating over the ground. Besides, this thread is one of few precious places on the internet when you don't have to praise SC at every moment to have a honest discussion about its' shortcomings.

It'll be about the same as now though more people will be complaining about the continued delays and someone will be saying we've missed the key point and if you look carefully you can see mark hamill's face reflected in the toilet bowl v3.0 (with accurate physics modelled floaters)

Again this is the star citizen thread so it's the place to go and whinge that citcon was a complete disaster and the SRV was floating along like it was scripted in. Can we play that star citizen SRV yet and do a proper comparison ?, no of course we can't.

Because it was just some advertising fluff that probably won't ever make it into the game, and actually took developers away from developing the game.

If star citizen ever releases in anything other than a mediocre cut down MVP form (very unlikely at this point) we can compare it with he current leader of the genre (ED).

Same as always: "Hey, is that stuff from the last demo reel in the alpha yet <smirk>"... "Yes it is, you don't understand game development, look at the money total now! <sneer>" and round and round we we shall go, until the mighty Sandworm takes us.

And were is the game?!
I have feeling, that now more then even CR spends backers money to make more new demos and jpgs to show "progress" and get new money...
No release dates for ANY of content = massive FAIL....

Not sure what you are about. SRVs look and work in ED very believably.
