It is a bad gameplay element... far worse than massacre stacking. If devs had to "fix" that they should also "fix" the AX limit. ;)

Those weapons are experimental. Unstable. So you can't have more than 4. That's not bad gameplay, that's a choice for their game and their story *for now*.

Just deal with it, cause it's a lore/story decision. Same as the thargoids adapting to the compound in the AX missiles.

Edit : that doesn't mean that we won't be able to equip more later on.

I'm hoping for regular RNGneering versions of the AX-tech later in the game.

Hi there aRJay
I see you're still telling people they're wrong even when they're right.
I have a Cutter and it's my main ship for just about everything.
I earned it the hard way. Never taking advantage of the exploits even when it was easy to do so.
Guess what. I'm far too frequently having to park it while I earn the rebuy in my Python or Asp-X
Why is that?
Because the rewards for flying around in a Cutter are rubbish. It takes me a week in the cutter to earn 40Mil credits, and that's putting in 4-6 hrs a day. What between finding the best trade routes, or ferrying stupid passengers who want to go everywhere for next to nothing, then changing thier minds and demanding stuff from stations on the way. Only to lose it all because some idiot scanned you when you docked at that station the passenger asked for and you've never been there before blah blah blah.

I'm not a noob. I now how to fly and find stuff and I say that the rewards are too stupidly low for owning a big ship. There should be more "Big Ship" missions that can offer rewards commensurate with their size and abilities.
For instance where are the Missions that require 720 tons of X to go to Y for 7-20mil?
And don't you dare to suggest stacking. I have to suffer the "Ship too large" messages when I try to find missions, Where are the "Ship too small" messages?

Well, there are already activities that scale with cargo bay size - bulk trading and CG's. No limit on cargo there.

The payouts to Colonia are not a bug, the devs said they do not intend them to be an incentive for you to take a 20k ly trip. They are missions you may take to make a little bit of money from the trip in case you already have plans to go there.

This would make sense if, and only if, these missions didn't then expect you to make the return trip to drop off the passenger. ;)

UI

  • We now update a Commander's subscribed to community goal data in the Transactions tab every ten minutes, allowing players to keep track of the results on the fly

Love little details like this [up]

If that's the case, it'd be nice if those missions weren't everywhere, clogging up the boards.

Repped! [up] It might be better if a separate menu was used for missions that headed for the "Restaurant at the End of the Universe."

Greetings commanders

Are there any upcoming plans to give the AI "system security/police" some anti-depressants? I keep seeing suicidal cops at res sites/CZs and sometimes bouncing off my ship at stations. Either that or make them switch to decaf.

If it would be some kind of energy weapon it would make sense. But we have just missiles and multicannons.(at least devs could increase the ammo limit for bigger ships)
IMO a story is no excuse for bad gameplay design.

Don't get me wrong. Thargoids show the huge potential of challenging (and cooperative) gameplay.
But compared to the gameplay we have the story progress is too slow and so the Thargoids become boring and uninteresting. For me thats the worst case of what could happen in 2.4 .....

There are lots of ways to earn enough money to rebuy a big ship they just need you to invest a little playing time into the game unfortunately too many of us seem to want to achieve anything in one quick session.

The fact that you need 83 million to rebuy your cutter just means you need to earn more before you buy it, after all once you have the recommended three times the rebuy before you start flying it means you only need to be earning 83 million between each loss of the ship which shouldn't be that frequent an event.

As to the other point he is more likely to say sign this release and we will get back to you after the background checks are completed it shouldn't take longer than a month.

It would be true if mission payments stayed the same all the time. But they don't. Some good paying missions were nerfed so they aren't valid anymore for grinding money. If someone got expensive ship this way the it means that this person isn't able anymore to earn the same money in the same time. There can be lots of way to make money but it's not lots of ways to make reasonable money without sacrificing all of free time of a person with a job for boring credit grinding that gives almost nothing for missions.

Personally, I'm against that entire credit grind and I think that credits should be much easier to earn. Why? Because engineers. Engineering makes ship powerful and without it ship isn't very strong. Let's take Anaconda as an example because it's the most common ship and probably main goal and a dream for every beginner. In my opinion for example Stock Anaconda is nothing compared to engineered Anaconda.
I got my Conda from Sothis/Ceos. I couldn't spend too much time on the game so it took me some time before I bought the ship, bought some basic things and got money for 2x rebuy. I spend who knows how much in grinding for Python with Cobra in RESes. But it took me 2x more time to engineer my Conda than it took me to get from Sidewinder to stock Conda and a gap between stock Conda and engineered Conda was for me much bigger than between stock Python and stock Conda... and my Conda is still not fully engineered.
So why not letting people get their dream big ships faster? Buying Anaconda is not an endgame, it's just a beginning on the way to have a big and powerful ship. Getting it fully engineered is the endgame. It would be a motivation to play for a person that can fly their dream ship even if it's nothing compared to engineered version of this ship. I have fully armed 400t cargo Conda that can jump 44ly unladen and has shields that can withstand for extremely long time in CZs. Stock Conda wouldn't be even half as effective. I would take engineered Python over Stock Conda in anything that doesn't involve cargo hauling 100% of the time and also it would be much more effective for earning money. So why putting insane grindwall by giving crap rewards? Of course I'm not asking for instant money, yeah, it should take some time to buy a ship like that but it shouldn't take insane amount of time. There are enough moneysinks in the game if credit rewards would be much better for all kind of activities. And also, buying any ship isn't an engame goal. Engineering, exploration, CGs, there are things to do even for a person that could buy every ship and item in the game.

Personally I liked engineer grinding more than money grinding, well, maybe not all engineers, some are ridiculous but most basic ones are quite enjoyable. Ship with at least most of modules 3-5grade engineered is already enough for serious action. With money grinding there's usually one or two activities that give reasonable money so the player needs to grind to death because the rest of activities gives almost no reward. It's super boring. With engineers it's at least varied, some materials can be earned without even noticing.

I'm not experienced player, but I could see friends that struggled and ended playing the game before even getting to Python. I can see why credit grind can be a reason for people to not even buying this game.

there IS no endgame.

my adoptive mother was a thargoid and now you remove ability for thargoids to be allies. you picked a side and forced me to humans WAAAAH (throws toys out of cockpit) :D
