[B]why no space legs ot atmo planets and planetary bases[B]

They have said yes. Not when.

yes? i haven't revived a legit confirmations on this from Fdev. i didn't knew that you worked at Fdev.
and "when" can mean tomorrow, a month, a year, a decade, or a thousands years. vage answers are the same as excuses. when i mean yes or no. i mean "yes we are working on it or" "no we are not". stating that it will release on the game's lifetime. at the moment they are not working on it. so the question stands its grounds. will there be or will it not, vage answer wont stop people from waiting for a real answer.

Elite Dangerous is a remake of a spaceship flying game.

Patience is a virtue. You are not entitled to an answer from Frontier. When they are ready they will us all know.

Well, to put all the nuts and bolts into one jar... Whether you like the idea of space legs or not, or atmo landings or not, or whether you like Star Citizen or not. ED is in fact in direct competition with SC... If Elite/FDev doesn't lite the fires and start producing content for Elite at a faster pace I can tell you right now there will be a mass exodus when SC releases. You can say whatever you want, I've heard "it will never release blah blah blah"... Trust me, it will release... I like elite, I've bought many many items from the store to show my support of their continued growth. Even with that said though, unless you like blowing up ships over and over again or trading point A to B point over and over. The game is very shallow as it stands right now and Elite could be outstanding with a little imagination and sometimes I wonder if too many coding people work at FDev and not enough artists. However, if SC were to release with what content they have shown right now and then build upon it with future releases like ED has done. ED would be sunk, dead in the water...

Come on ED!!! Get off the mat, get out of the corner, and start swinging back!!! hehehe

Im not demanding and answer but rather asking for one. if you dont like space legs u can say it nothing wrong with it. i want ED to have those features because it has the potential for it. and regarding SC i believe that the game will flop because they are doing the opposite of elite they are promising too much almost overkill. If you are happy and pleased how the game plays right now good for you bro. but i want to see more. and please dont take it like im demanding the Devs to implements this features because i dont, if they never come up with it im ok with it, i can live with it. i wanted to ask you if it bothers you that people ask the devs questions about it. and also saying that it will be boring without even imagining how it going to play on the game isn't it a lil bit lazy from your part dont you think?

Don't assume I am happy with everything about the game, because I am not. What I do know is that there are updates this year including paid content that we know nothing about. I have played enough walking games to know that the sooner you upgrade to a vehicle the better. If you could walk around your ship (for whatever reason) or maybe EVA tasks, that would do for me. But please don't make me run around massive stations or planets just for the hell of it.

i hope what u say happens, right now it feels like they are chilling because they dont have a threatening competition at the moment, f it comes out im pretty sure that Fdev is going to have get their together

i think that you misunderstood my point when i compared both games. im aware that the tech is diferent. but the NMS team focused on what players wanted and make the game fun-ish. what my point is that ED is releasing very bad content instead good one. let me give you a recent example.

NMS is little more than a cartoonish representation of the galaxy, like marvin the martian, the question is if you want NMS style gameplay why are you here in ED?

I think what players want, and I can only speak for myself but I am sure there are a few who agree with me, is as accurate a representation of a galaxy as is possible. Sure they could bodge it up and throw in poorly designed crap like unrealistically small planets and simplistic gameplay, but your idea of what ED players want and my idea of what this ED player wants appear to be not congruent. The worst thing to do to the game would be to destroy it's physical accuracy to try and satisfy some poorly thought out game design.

If we get atmospheric planets I want proper atmospheric planets, not the rubbish from NMS, if we get legs I want proper missions and interaction, I want governments and cities I can walk around in, in other words a realistic galaxy, and that simply takes a huge amount of time and effort. The tech from NMS is not just different, it's just not capable of doing anywhere near what the tech in ED can do, so lets not compromise what's possible by destroying what we already have, lets keep what we have build on it.

Lots of people want EVA, player own planetary bases, and atmospheric planets. It's taking Frontier a (very) long time with delivering these things and we had hoped it would come sooner.

If you check the ED Wiki. It says space legs is planned and will come. Not with beyond, so we'll have to wait longer.

On April 11 2017, The Commanders Release Livestream, Braben confirmed that space legs is coming and is planned, but it's not imminent (check around 10:10).

So it's not a matter of If, but When we'll get the first iteration. Hopefully, late 2018 or early 2019.

Yes, I think the galaxy with land-able Earth-like worlds with procedural cities full of NPC characters is the end-goal. The first iteration of space legs will likely be inside ships and maybe around it (ship maintenance, walk on planets).

NMS is crap. Lol

When ED gets atmospheric planets, it'll be far better. FD wants it done properly.

I've played NMS on a friend's PS4 and I found it to be very pretty but ultimately disappointing.

No-one's said that there won't be atmospheric landings and space legs in ED but no-one's said they would be dropping in this iteration of season 3 (or in season 3 at all).

ED is a now a cross-platform online game. I can imagine that the coding to get these complex features to work, and work well, across all this tech is no mean feet of coding.

No-one said it would be now.
