I don't know how to start this so I'm just going to go right into it.

On PS4 (and, assuming, similar on Xbox One), it's gimmicky and irritating that we have to PURCHASE a PACKAGE of Frontier Points, so that we can then PURCHASE COSMETICS from the Frontier store.

I, myself, feel like I would be more inclined to purchase cosmetics, if I could a) buy them directly from the Frontier store using any device, such as my phone, computer, or console, and b) use real life currency to purchase individual items.

If I want to spend $3 just to buy a paint job for my Viper, then that's all I want. I don't want to be roped into buying a PACK of Frontier Points, only because it's slightly discounted over smaller packages.

It also eliminates having to go through an extra step to get what we want. I mean, seems like marketing 101 to me, but you're stifling your cosmetic sales by adding an extra step in the middle, which gives a lot of players a reason to resist making impulse purchases. Sounds like a terrible thing, but if you're trying to support the development of Elite, I think most would understand getting rid of that protection and letting impulsive buyers purchase their content without hindrance.

It should arguably be set up so that when Cosmetics are purchased on the Frontier store through any device, that those Cosmetics should be available to all platforms signed up to that account. Would that technically mean less income because the user would only have to purchase an item once instead of 3 times? Technically, yes... But how many users are playing on all three platforms at the same time anyway? If anything, this is a fan service that's a minimal loss in exchange for positive opinion towards Frontier development.

I love Elite dangerous, it's arguably the most fun game I've ever played, even though it feels more like a simulator. Even though I previously had limited interest in science fiction/space travel games, I was really blindsided by Elite. The seriousness and immersion level of this game is what drew me in. That being said, selling packages of points so that players can then purchase cosmetics, in my opinion, cheapens the experience, making it feel more like a free-to-play mobile game.

How would you feel if you went to an electronics store, and they told you that you had to purchase one of their gift cards to pay for purchases there? Would you ever go there again? The difference here is that we don't have the option to go to a different store, because the Frontier store is the only one selling Cosmetics for Elite Dangerous, and so we have to buy YOUR gift card, so that we can purchase YOUR goods. To me, that's akin to taking advantage of your fans.

Please give us the option to pay for goods with REAL CURRENCY DIRECTLY, same as you've given PC players.

I strongly suspect that it’s not Frontier’s choice to use the PS4 store system rather than their own. I would bug Sony about it.

There's a very good chance you're right, but I want confirmation from Frontier before I start sending emails to Sony, because as far as I know, there isn't a Sony suggestion board, even though there probably should be.

I agree with this. I think at some point, I purchased some items directly from the frontier site, for the account I created for my PS4 commander, and it didnt show up in game. Completely bonkers.
