Well, the good news is long distance cargo and passenger missions are back.

The bad news is they pay about as much as LOCAL cargo and passenger missions USED TO and now local cargo and passenger missions are paying peanuts. Guess I found the nerf!

FDev is so hellbent on preventing players from making decent money so they can not worry about credits and PLAY THE GAME it makes me wonder if the ultimate goal after the Tencent deal was to go F2P and sell ingame credits eventually.

What Tencent deal?

I just found it... I don't know how I didn't hear of it before...

What planet aer you living on? Mission payouts are at ridiculous levels already - I have been taking missions and purposely selecting the Mats wherever possible (whether I need them or not) just so I have something of use later on as I engineer my fleet.

So what you're saying is, the Engineer and Guardian grind is the real end game, not the credits. I've got a fully fitted Cutter, yet it's no where near complete and won't be for a while.

I've been playing this game since 2015 and have been having more fun with the co-op aspect of it in the past few weeks than I have in years. I do not understand the people on this forum that have the incessant need to prevent others from having fun their way. People shouldn't have to play for a year to get into a big ship, and I say that being someone that has done that very thing. Not everyone can put 4 hours a day into this game and that shouldn't be the barrier of entry to have fun.

It is not up to me to decide how the game should be, it's fdev. If FDev think it's wrong, they will change/fix it.

These days the only time I take missions is to get materials or commodities for tech brokers and engineers. For me missions pay way too much so I just do straight trading or combat zones/res sites without missions.

I like things to be a challange, including the unlocking of stuff. Not a walk in the park as it is at the moment. Having a challange is what makes it fun for me.

The only missions I do these days are the story missions (Thargoid and Guardian missions) as I find them interesting.

I am not arguing. Just offering a different view point. You can agree or not agree. It's entirely up to you. As to common sense, nah I don't see it. All I see is personal opinion.

Let me ask you this, do you have an ultimate goal apart from scanning the same planetary installation a billion times or killing the same 12 drones for billions of credits?

Because I do and linear progression is the best way to achieve that right now. There is no REAL economy because payouts are set on the type of mission selected, there is no gold rush and no discernible value to credits which is why having an infinitely amount of credits created out of thin air and inflation never comes into play because supply and demand are non extant concepts.

I'm combat elite but I'm treated by NPC's like the next delivery paperwork boy scout.

I have been playing for well over three years and the only way I could afford a big three is if I sold everything and then I couldn't A rate it.

You are meant to play your way in the confines and laws of the game world. If FDev think missions are paying too much they will be reduced. Nothing to do with other people. These ships are meant to be expensive and take time to get and difficult to upkeep.

To me it looks like poeple just want loads of credits so that the rebuy costs become meaningless and that there are no consequences to ship destruction in the game.

Jeez, what's with all the complaints about 'nerfing' something that shouldn't have been there in the first place???

I haven't even seen any of these so-called overpaid missions - but maybe that's because I'm playing the darned game and not spending all my time searching forums for new cash cows. I mean, my last few days in-game have been a couple hours pootling around in a Hauler doing data runs and max 16T cargo runs, no trading, no long-distances, no wing missions, no board flicking, no serious attempts at stacking. I earned an average of 3m credits each two hour stint. In a Hauler! Maybe it's me not playing the game right...

When will an update make "Cyclops finally able to be a little more solo friendly?" I hate that the only way to reasonably kill one is while in a wing. As it stands the routine is currently 1. Encounter Cyclops 2. Success, or failure 3. Jump out, hobble back and refit. It's kind of annoying. Would more love the scenario of, 1. Encounter Cyclops 2. Defeat Cyclops and 3. have a chance at still having enough integrity/ ammo left for another encounter. They are part of the Elite Dangerous story, not a component proprietary to co-op multiplay. If making them 15-20% easier means 20% less bounty, so be it...fair enough.

Would also love for Guardian modules (namely hull, module and shield reinforcements) to have a real effect against Thargoids. Currently, I can't tell a difference between standard 5D module, and Guardian 5D module.

I personally love the fact that Interceptors are damn hard to solo. sure it would be great if the payout was better when you do kill one, but as it is they are the only NPC's currently in the game that are truly exiting and challenging to combat. Makes for a very anxious feeling when you encounter one.

everything this guys says always rings elitist, he made his money, as such, killing 60 ships for a little less than a mil is "too much" to him, makes sense as he's probably hit the best of the gold rushes, anyways, i have a game to play and pirates to shoot or maybe ill go be that pirate today, who knows

also theres still ways to make an easy 60 to 80 mil an hour if not more, i won't talk about it as fdev will sooner nerf it than fix something they actually need to fix, or focusing on making the game deeper instead of wider. kiddie pools do get boring after a while

Got no dog in this fight just thought I’d join everyone else and have a good moan

Frankly - I don't care about nerfs. I care that when I take Thargoid Scouts mission, I cannot complete it cause Goids don't show where they should. I can't kill them without them being there, can I?

Pity you didn't properly read the post you quoted, Beetlejuice1686.

The update for Xbox one July 2018

Greeting Devs

I have got my best friend into elite, I took him to ceos and Sothis and there has been nothing but trouble even with the new update. Before the update on the day before we found a cargo mission for 22 mill I have been working on transporting my corvette to ceos were my friend has been doing fed rank. So we have been working on the mission for a long time and we have played until the update became live on Xbox with the update it brought problems. We were able to be in a wing before the update now we can be next to each other and can't be in a wing. This update took valuable time from us for our mission. Can you reimbursed us. The 22 mill or at least my friend. If you need to contact me my email is (email address removed by moderator)

They already are solo friendly, a Cyclops has been done in an iEagle, a Medusa in a Krait and probably something smaller.

Go look at the following thread and discord chat linked inside. Plenty of info and help available on how to solo one. The right tactics, loadout and a reasonable aim help a lot.

I have goals in the game, and they are not that.

Because I do and linear progression is the best way to achieve that right now. There is no REAL economy therefore payouts are set on the type of mission selected, there is no gold rush and no discernible end-goal which is why having an infinitely amount of credits created out of thin air and inflation never comes into play because supply and demand are non extant concepts.
There are gold rushed. You need to look at the system and faction state. But it's better to use the commodity markets and direct trading for that, it can be very lucrative if done right (and can be more profitable then missions). Think of missions as contracts not as trading. But yeah the BGS could do with a bit of an update.

I'm combat elite but I'm treated by NPC's like the next delivery paperwork boy scout.
Certain missions are not going to be lucrative depending on risk. Combat missions may look like they do not as pay much, but you also need to add the bounty and combat bonds to that which I assume FDev do with the balancing of the missions.

I do not know what the correct balance is, it is a very subjective thing. Personally I prefer payouts to make some sense regarding state of the economy, my reputation with them etc. Most of the time these days I find the missions pay way too much and I am looking for lower paying missions, now for me, if prices have been "fixed" (in my opinion), thats great as it will offer me more variety of mission .

Obviously FDev thought they paid too much then what they intended for a reason. It was a mistake/bug/flaw. Whatever you want to call it. Therefore it is not a nerf, but a fix for something that they think is wrong.

Baaa ha ha ha ha ha ha. Looks like you know nothing. I think if I sold all my ships and modules I would have about 180million credits which isn't much for over three years of playing. I have never used an exploit for credits since I started or any of the silly gold rushes. It would ruin the game for me.

Try again. Please don't make stuff up about me, jump to conclusions or make assumptions. Nothing Elitist about it, it's just the way I prefer to play.

I think you need to re-read my post.
