Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

I'm going to build myself an AX ship (Krait). Have read on suggestions etc and modified a build I saw to this:

Coriolis Krait Build

Any feedback welcome! I've yet to research the Guardian shield/module reinforcements.

I should add, I plan to start with scouts before moving on to bigger bugs.

If you try to fight scouts with that, you're gonna fry faster than an egg in the Sahara, just for scouts at least consider some AX multicannon turrets as they provide decent DPS while you try to get your Gauss cannons lined up.

I'd have a look at putting those guardian shotguns in the large slots, I haven't been able to try them myself yet, but I hear they're pretty good. Also how about a fighter bay? Again I don't use one as I fly an FDL, but I hear they do a decent job of distracting the swarm.

Definite:
Heavy Duty on the Hull engineering, and fit decon limpets.

Optional:
Maybe collector limpets so you can stock up on mats from kills (if you don't already have them).

As said above AX turrets will give you easy kills - if you fit 3 you can practice with the remaining gauss (or 2 AX + 2 Gauss). If you are used to fixed then go for it!. No need for Flak launcher yet - that's for swarms/Interceptors.

I wouldn't bother with so much HRP/MRP for scouts, but if it makes you feel safe it won't do any harm ;)

Just drop into some NHSS3/4 to get an idea and you'll see why I suggest Heavy Duty and Decon limpets :)

Hah, drop into the swarm, take 8 missiles then pick your targets.

Yea, for fast scout kills, load up on MC turreted. If you want practice, the gauss will do. It will be a lot slower.

I wish they had a loadout button at the outfitting yard to make swapping easier. These days I just stay in my interceptor build because I am lazy and can actually take out the scouts with fixed weapons better than I used to. Still not as fast as all mc turreted.

Brilliant thanks for the tips! Seems I was building for after scouts so that's really good advice - I've fitted 3 AX MC/s and kept 2 Gauss Cannons for practice. I'll hopefully get out this weekend and start bug hunting.

wut???

How is that even possible, according to counter it was damaged with more than 4k kills [where is it] :O [woah] :| ..... [haha]

edit: fail in matrix

Targets this week : Gertrud, HIP 9141 and Nogambe

Li Tzicnii attacked this week

Hydra in Celaeno, also Merope. Not seen recently.

High level NHSS only spotted in HIP 9141, others have been NHSS 3-6.

Eagle Eye targets this week:
EE1 Same as 4
EE2 aries dark region py-r b4-1
* Conn Almeida Landing (INRA)
* Gertrud Walker Ring (mainly Scouts?)
EE3 aries dark region mx-u c2-8
* Hermitage Hollis Gateway (INRA)
* HIP 9141 Karachkina Orbital (NHSS8)
EE4 aries dark region mx-u c2-10
* HIP 15329 Stuart Retreat (INRA)
* Nogambe Bunnell Dock (mainly Scouts)
EE5 not checked
EE6 same as EE3

Systems are saved by kills in the target systems- each kill counts the same, so a Scout is as useful as an Interceptor. Bonds do not matter.

Locations of the Aegis megaships Acropolis and Vanguard.

* NHSS will be found in systems within 10 Ly of target, these are not important.

Most kind sir, I'll trot off to Gertrud this evening and help the cause.

My opinion up till now has been let the galaxy burn, but hermitage is part of the area i think of as home. Anyone have a link to a good ground up alien fighting tutorial?
If i have to go to some godforsaken far end of the galaxy and grind for geegaws, i might just move, otherwise im up for the fight i guess.

They're not attacking Hermitage - just interested in the old INRA base, so no need to go on a rampage (unless you want to!)
