Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

Technical question on this: I did a bit of scout hunting yesterday. When low limpets, I dragged my T10 to Haberlandt Station. For some reason, I got a number of USS detected on the way, but was unable to see those USSes any more.
.
Is that a sign that Thargoids just retreated or anything? Or did I experience some strange sync bug? (I didn't spend the time to investigate, it already was too late for that. )
.

Mrs Miggins has been getting a bit hot under the collar. Been to both Attacked Stations.

Even had some company along the way via Ship Crew in that oft neglected co-pilot seat in the Cobra MkIII.

Targets this week : Atroco, Byeru Bese, and Lusonda

Chiang Prospect in Jambin attacked this week

Eagle Eye targets this week:
Eagle Eye this week:

EE1 hip 14909 2a
* HIP 16824 - INRA Base ‘Carmichael Point‘
* Atroco - Lasswitz Port
EE2 hip 16704 5a
* Pleiades Sector LN-T c3-4 – crashed scout
* Lusonda - Lee Orbital (again)
EE6 hip 18368 2h
* 12 Trianguli Taylor Keep
* Byeru Bese - Garnier Station

Three old locations and three Targets again this week - Lusonda was targeted in week 12, but saved the first time.

Systems are saved by kills in the target systems- each kill counts the same, so a Scout is as useful as an Interceptor. Bonds do not matter.

Locations of the Aegis megaships Acropolis and Vanguard.

* NHSS will be found in systems within 10 Ly of target, the systems are not being targeted for attack - you can kill Thargoids from them, but it won't help save any systems.
* You can also find NHSS all over the Pleiades - within about 166 Ly of Merope, but it won't help save any systems.
* And you can get (bugged) missions from the Aegis megaships to kill Thargoids, but they also don't count to save systems unless the destination system for the mission is also a target this week.

Guess LHS 2524 was saved! Cool :cool:

Awesome :)

I forgot to refit my fuel scoop when I was leaving the system yesterday. Got to the next star, tried scooping and nothing. Facepalm. Had to fly back again which took absolutely chuffing ages. Hauling lots of cargo to rebuild that station would have been horrible.

Why didn't you just fly to the nearest station, and have the new scoop delivered?

So the Thargoids are having another attempt to hit Lusonda? I wonder if they're just attacking random Ammonia Worlds within a particular region but it's a shame that they are all over the Bubble, as it's hard to get a sense of where the battle lines are being drawn and where the attacks are originating from. I would really like to do more than just shoot at scouts to influence the course of the conflict. An army needs supply lines, communication infrastructure, information gathering and planning. We're reacting rather than being proactive. The only thing I think we might be able to do (and it's a long shot it will have any effect) is to mine the smithereens out of the Barnacles so that they are all wrecked whenever the Thargoids show up to do whatever they do there (it looks like the Interceptors are transferring something from the Barnacles when they visit). Otherwise, I think we might have to wait until Col 70 Sector is unlocked or there are actual Thargoid motherships that we can attack (I don't think we can damage the Thargoid Structures at all and we do need some of them for Eagle Eye).

Remember that it's rumoured that the Thargoids have much greater ability to fly in witchspace, and may even live there. In which case all of their logistics/command structure is coming out of there and all we see is the sharp end of their force.

Totally agree - in the early attacks it seemed that there was a definite direction, and that they were heading for Sol / Achenar. Then we pushed them back from Sol and they seemed to turn towards Alioth. And we wondered - why would Thargoids be interested in the Capitol Planets?

Then they started flying about randomly, and we shrugged, looked at each other and said "Fdev!".

That's one reason I'm not really looking forward to 3.3 unless there is more to reveal, as it seems the story for next year is 'find incursion, repel incursion, repeat' - and that's just lame. But we will see, hopefully they have added some research missions (or anything!) so we can do something other than fight the same fight each week.

Just docked at Garnier Station in Byeru Bese - Acropolis in system - picked up 3, 6 and 8 NHSS's on way in (toasted the scouts in the 3).

edit - Now at Lasswitz Port in Atroco - lots of NHSS 4's here - saw several 9's in Veja Manto enroute to here from Byeru Bese - might be worth alook if your hunting bigger game.

Been at Chiang Prospect trying to evacuate people. There's only so much I can do with a Cobra. I've had a few CMDR's drop in in Multi-crew to observe what's going on. I'm afraid I didn't get any shots of the 1000's of terrified people clinging on at death's door out there but I did get some footage.

It's ok guys, just had a treaty with the bugs; they are apparently willing to limit their activities to clearly marked CZ's, so thats civil of them.:rolleyes:

Well, they're already breaking that treaty - appearing at Megaships, in NHSS, as well as hyperdicting innocent travellers. Back to the negotiating table with you!

I'm returning to Lusonda tonight, with a T10 tank, full of shard cannons and multi's rather than my krait. I shall hopefully despatch a great many more. Last evening was my first foray into these illegal scout immigrants. Tonight, I shall be wearing my Mr MacKay peaked cap and will not be listening to any appeals.
