Dear CMDR Puffler,

I know that this situation looks awful, and you don't hear or see anything connected to Guru and Raxxla. But could you please read at least this letter - at least because I can help.

I can hardly imagine what could happen with Guru to behave his so. But I really think that investigate this can be still useful. But, of course, not only through ancient Greek Myths. It is really a hard work to look through every name you see to find a connection - I've tried it on my home station, and found what Guru could name a Key to Raxxla. So not. But, as you see, the weakest part in every conspiracy is human. Even if it is all bull, making a riddle that will create a hype wave among several Discords, explorer groups - from USA to Russia - is not an easy task. So creating a kind of masterpiece always leaves traces. Some photos, strange words, and so on.

You are a happy man, CMDR Puffler. You are the chief of 46&2, and you are the man who has not keys to Raxxla, but keys to Guru. Of course, I understand you wanted to be famous not through your subordinate's craziness, but well, happens. I can help. I can take all this on myself (and, of course, on the shoulder's of Guru's fans), if you just contact me that we can exchange with the materials, clues and all the work Guru left. Don't worry, you'll not fill sorry for that. In the memories of all CMDR you'll be known as Guru's Savior, a man who did everything right.

You can write me in Discord - naukogriz#7452, or directly on my organization's server - https://discord.gg/NXKYAGW , or on email - naukogriz@yandex.ru

This is clearly directed towards CMDR Puffler. I see no reason it being posted publicly

Out of curiosity, has anyone seen a phenomenon where a star in the galmap has another star next to it but then has it disapear after looking at it for a while? Like it's absorbed by the other star. I keep getting this. (NVM, I think it might be because I set the galmap settings to high quality.)

I'm also getting this. It's a previously visted star with the lines coming from it without focus.(I think that is just a neutron with the map being funny.)

And I wonder if the cost of planets has any signifigance to anything in game... https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ants-w-life-pay-less-than-Gas-Giants-w-o-life

I do not know if it has already been answered, but it is not a mistake
They are systems that have binary stars, it will show you the two stars at the same time, but when tracing the route the direction is unique, drawing a straight line to a single point

Well, Canonn works with a hypothesis that Guru really found something. So they take his info and try to solve all this Greek Myth. Well, I think it is too difficult task - especially when Guru asks us to check every system, station, NPC, if he is connected to Greek legend. Well, as I've said, I've tested this on my home station, and found that it does suit Guru's criteria. So what - checking ten thousand systems to see if they are related? Too difficult. Try to solve Eleusian Mysterias? Ok, maybe real, but what will we do when we start getting multiple interpretations of the same symbol? I think Guru could really save our time and his keyboard resource as good as his reputation with two simple things - a)post a photo of Raxxla and b)try to post systems that are relevant.

I myself think that now it is easier to find traces of Guru's research. You see, he could leave traces, footprints and so on while working. So gathering all info of his activity will help us to understand what really happened in his mind, or how he came to this situation. So I address to CMDR Puffler and CMDR Mapudan, along with Guru's friends - if you have any real info about his activity last month - journeys, words, screenshots, etc. - fell free to contact me or at least those Canonn guys. With your help we'll easy find the true meaning of his texts.

And, of course, I want to address to Guru-951 himself.
You see, this has gone too far. I understand you may have reason to be silent. But then even the crumbs of information that you give out need to be rethought. I want to see not clues - check every stone if he is Greek, but some facts that could help us. Even if you walk through this pdf file and highlight those places that are relevant (or, on the opposite side, not), it would be better than thousand words about how to use google and wiki. When you repair your car, don't you go through some kind of algorithm instead of reading books like "the theory of the internal combustion engine"? And, of course, you don't expect to hear "use Google or Wiki" when asking what oil is to be poured into the rear axle.

I could myself post you a thousand words like "look at youself, how guy who cracked the Galmap and found mass rating could melt down to a prophet-conspirologist"? But I understand you really may have some reasons to do so. Well, the worse you can do is continue pour water from empty to dry, giving us labor-intensive enterprises. I still consider that if you really know something, thhen you info should be more constructive. Not just a pdf with anchient myth, but facts - what is relevand, what is implemented, and so on. Not a statement "the Raxxla is there, google to find it", but concrete facts - it could be just the list of needed systems or planets. Be a scientist, speak with facts and to the point.
You said we need to look at Kore (a planet in Persephone system), Mars. What else? Cupid's arrow? Demeter? Is planet Persephona's Gem relevant? Is Demeter generation ship relevant? Delphi was renamed a month ago - is it important? To the sea = to the Earth or to Elyssian Shores or to the Mat' Zemlya? NPC's - do you rally need to stalk them? To where - to low'wake, or to the next system, or to the Raxxla? Takurua Anomaly - is it relevant?
Even your answers on this simple questions just with "yes" and "no" cost more than your whole recent post.

And remember one thing. We want to help you, we even can help you, but it is difficult to do if you are ruin yourself. We can get you out of the swamp, but please take the cord and hold it tight.
Fell free to contact me.

I'm thankful you clarified this. Especially, because at Canonn, it created sorts of a sect. Believers, throwing their blatant faith around without being able to accept facts. Not only that, but even labelling everyone, criticizing either Guru or his theory, as trolls.

Sad to see Canonn ended up being rather a church to non-evident based bull.

That being said,

Etherealreality: You're one poopy Ambassador.
I've been in that discord for weeks now - that never happened. If it did - i would've been the first to receive the flak from "sect" since i was sh#tting on guru the hardest.

Splendid. Seems some kind of trouble spilling over into this thread. First a post by Guru that leaves me in doubt then dementi from elsewhere.

Ok. *Unrolls tinfoil - loads of it - and leans back*

Let us assume, Guru is telling us the truth and really has found Raxxla, but for one reason or the other does or can not tell ust the way clearly (man I currently keep imagining a popup with a direct message by DB after finding Raxxla: "Hey Dude, we spent a lot of time and effort into making this experience as exciting as possible. So please don't spill the beans and write a blatant walkthrough somewhere"). Ok, so here he is happy and full of pride for having solved the riddle but at the same time somehow hindered to tell it directly...

Let's further assume he has given us hints he assumes will guide one or the other to the destination. This is what I deduct:

a) Go to Mars/ read text: I for one must admit I have been to Sol some times but never went sightseeing. Guru is right in so far as going into space started with the Mars relic in 2296. So next time I come to Sol I will head out there and check whether there is anything meaningful. Concerning the texts at stations I also must admit I rarely read them, but changing that won't hurt, so I can see for myself.

b) Kore/Demeter/Persephone: I fully well know what this is all about. It's a myth basically as old as peasantry concerning the change of seasons. Persephone spends the time when everything ist dying i.e. Autumn and Winter in Hades and returns with spring. You can see this myth repeated in the legend of the dying god (Tammuz, Dumuzi & Astarte, Ishtar; Attis and Kybele and several more). I had been thinking about this when riddling about a place that is no place some months ago. Have been checking for Systems or Stations mentioning the other gods but found zip.

c) Concerning Eleusis: This is where Guru, if he is truthful gave us a real hint. Someone had the idea of getting near a Demeter Class ship and scanning it to retrieve whatever might be needed. I think this is not the right way if one wants to follow eleusinian rites. The quest if taken by the word has to start at Athens. Simply because of the fact that one is the neophyte with the desire to become initiated and not the priest already initiated travelling with Demeters Hiera from Eleusis to Athens. Best guess so far is Athena system.

*uncoils tinfoil, folds it and neatly stacks it away*

Well as there currently is no other theory and I have been spending the past weeks nosing around Delphi and doing nothing but killing Thargs (becomes boring), I'm willing to give it a try - as I even tried shooting the Maia Blackhole with an FSD Interruptor Guru's theory doesn't seem to weird...

I will report.

I’d join in that bet, unfortunately I can’t see that we’d get a payout since we still have absolutely no idea where or how to look for Raxxla!

fernweh is fernweh is fernweh in all translations
if only there was a way to transform that
into a partial sector name
it could be scoured like mad

Polaris is a good this, sweet thing, especially if it locked in different way. So we can't to jump to it directly. So we should jump to it using something. Some tunnel. High wake? Black Hole? Yes, I know BHs is a old thing and was investigated from all sides by many people. Did some tried to scan it using wake scanner?.. Probably yes. So if this system lock isn't bug, then there must be a game mechanics. My minds about Guru's messages? He found something what give him absolute happy or absolute unhappy. It may be Raxxla or maybe nothing. And he try to save the miracle or legend. For our hopes. Sorry friends, I don't know right words. Also this thing (even "nothing") is hard linked (tied?) to his way.

I think mouse is better than either joystick or controller. I use my HOTAS for IL2 BoX as well, and joysticks don't last forever. I can't bring myself to use a joystick for what is, essentially, a turret. I wouldn't use the joystick in a rear gunner position in a WW2 plane either. It's unnecessary wear on the equipment, and doesn't feel right either. Most other FSS controls are mapped to my throttle, and the combination does work pretty quickly.

Mouse & keyboard are out for me, desk too high & hotas is in the way. Not a big fan of the mouse at all, tends to trigger off my arthritis. Thinking about splashing out on either a Virpil or VKB all-metal joystick

Hmm, which INRA base did you check? The Hermitage one worked fine for me when I checked it, and I also found one of the other ones completely randomly while flying a new alt out to the Pleiades. (Wasn’t looking for INRA bases at that point, Hermitage is the one I know off the top of my head, and I haven’t got any of the other systems memorised, so didn’t realise where I was until I actually reached the base.)

Think it was Taylor Keep on 12 Trianguli. Purposefuly hadn’t been there. Human (actually showed as Guardian) signal showed in fss scan. Expected that the base would show when I got within 1000ls but didn’t. Did a planet probe but that didn’t localise it. Had to get down to about 60km away for it to show, thereafter shows up fine. May have been a bug ....

They don’t show up on the NavPanel or HUD prior to mapping the planet, but it should have done after. Just to double check, did you fully map the planet (as opposed to just probing the relevant area)? And did you try switching from Analysis HUD Mode to Combat HUD Mode after mapping the planet?

If you don't believe FDev would task development with adding it in the past, why do you believe they would add it in the future? This makes no sense.

In any case, just because the development team wage bill is undoubtedly not small as a whole, that does not mean it cost hundreds of thousands of pounds to add something around Raxxla to the game. That would depend on how much effort Raxxla took. Even if no-one ever finds it, if it meant MB could say 'it's in the game' without lying, think how many players and how much time has been spent looking.

I fear you may have misunderstood. I think they will add it as future content, meaning they will work on it on the future and make it something that everyone is involved in, much like thargoids, rather than some insane rabbit hole.

From what CMDRGuru951 has posted thus far, it sounds like there's basically a (long) series of quests missions given by various NPCs, triggered by various factors (mostly finding the right stations, possibly having specific names for your ship, etc.), that we can decode and follow to find Raxxla. All very confusing and convoluted, Braben-style. And it's all about the journey, rather than the destination, possibly because the destination is a big whoop. Like, what you guys are guessing, Polaris. "Epic mission arc" with the rewards being a permit and possibly access to a Dark Wheel station with all ships discounted 40% or whatever.

So, basically, he COULD post a step-by-step guide for all the missions, like they have for MMO's or single-player RPG's, but such a spoiler would basically ruin the experience for everyone interested in trying to figure out this mystery. And the reward at the end is basically not much.

That's my take on it.

Now, whether or not I feel like unraveling the whole thing anymore, not really. Because it doesn't sound like he had a fun experience.

But, I guess, it's one epic mission arc, in a game that's otherwise a sandbox. Might be fun for someone.

a) Go to Mars/ read text:

The Mars text is a brief paragraph about that non-human artifact found on Mars. He quoted it in his post announcing the finding of Raxxla. The only thing of note was that the ships coming into the tourist spot were mostly Orcas with typical tourist names, and one Hauler named Red Planet Taxi belonging to Pirigen Guardians of Tradition that flew around for a while and waked out when I followed it for a while. I did not have a manifest scanner or wake scanner, unfort.

b) Kore/Demeter/Persephone:

Persephone is the last planet (system map, not orrery) in the Sol system, a landable 2G ice world, 400k LS from the Sun. Has a government installation in orbit named Primary Transport Authority. T7 named WayFinder piloted by Neil Horsburgh flew around for a while. Scanning the installation starts a scenario where it gets attacked by ships with names like Dark Aspirant or similar. The installation asks for help defending, but I had to run away as I wasn't in a combat ship.

c) Concerning Eleusis: getting near a Demeter Class ship

The following systems exist: Athena, Demeter, Persephone, Hecate, Zeus, Tartarus, Styx, Eleu.

"A series of scenarios" at certain locations related to Greek mythology seems plausible. Bring a combat ship (he suggests a Cobra, heh).

EDIT: Unrelated: Pirigen is near Kappa Doradus (K Doradus, I guess, comes before L Doradus / Eldorado, and, rofl, Lambda Doradus does exist, as do Alpha - Nu (half the alphabet)).

I definitely did a full map with the probes ‘cos that’s the first time I used them. Fairly sure I switched to Combat mode fater the scan to check for any signals. That’s when I was surprised the base didn’t show up. I had the coordinates from Canonn page so homed in then it showed up.

As I say, may be a bug. But worth testing if there are other bases that someone hasn’t visited before. It would be a real pain if this mechanism isn‘t actually doing its job, we’re relying on it for DW2, and Raxxla Questing....

p.s. thought I might see some of the old FRifters on DW2, surprised you’re not involved, but I think the only other is Spock. What’s everyone up to nowadays?
one of the reasons I signed up for DW2, apart from having missed the first one & never having done an organised expedition before, was because I suspect FD might release some new storyline out in the black. I took weapons because I’m half-expecting to encounter AI (rogue human or Guardian) or something else of significance. Though I may be wrong

From what he posted I suspect he’s either trolling the thread or having a nervous breakdown. This thread requires proof, i.e. a photo (& video) of a significant find. The photo he supplied as “evidence” was of a mission target to kill an NPC FDL named Vicious Hades piloted by Alexander Macdonald flying in a wing whose faction was Hand Gang of LP102-320. He implied the mission was found by decoding the Eleusinian Mysteries mythology with a rambling discourse which contained no facts as to how this was supposed to reveal Raxxla. He was in a wing of 3 but his wingmates (clearly named on-screen as Markodan & Markospliff) have not come forward to support his ramblings in this thread.

I really don’t know why there is so much ongoing discussion, have the participants never encountered trolling before? Ignore it unless there is real revelation with evidence!

I have been playing with keyboard and mouse for a month now, and I'm really starting to like it. Controlling ship trajectory and velocity is slowly beginning to feel stable. Combat is fun again, now it makes sense, and there are things to achieve. I have been bounty hunting close to the Omega Mining Operation lately, this used to be such a quiet place before. I have no idea what happened. I wonder if I should ask if these expedition people would let me go along. Jorki, have you ever listened to the Elite Dangerous soundtrack? Such nice background music, and fancy pictures too.

You spelled my name wrong

A small warning regarding mythological system names in ED. There is hardly a deity from European or north African mythology or religion that is not represented by a system in the bubble. If you cant find it, it probably has an alternative spelling.

It is easy to go mad, if you take system names as a confirmation of any hypothesis. Anything can be made into a plausible connection.

Stay sharp and be skeptical. Your idea is probably wrong, but you should still check it out. One of our silly ideas will one day, turn out to be the right one.

Good luck in the void.

For a variety of reasons I am not going on DW2 but I have helped out at the recent mining CG (over 1200t contributed but still never reaching the top 10%!). If I feel up to it I may help out at the second CG but I might not have the energy for a trip to Sgr A*. If anything storyline-related happens on DW2, like finding Guardian Exiles near Bleia, then I may try and catch up to take part, unless it's combat-related as I have stopped enjoying that aspect of the game. I'm currently more interested in near-Bubble mysteries, like the GCS Sarasvati, Raxxla and the Dark Wheel and taking part in Buckyball Racing Club events. My energy levels haven't been that great for a while and I also want to spend more time doing out-of-game things (including EDRPG) so I'm at liberty to take things at my own pace and follow testable hunches. Right now, I want to see if I can get the Mbooni permit, which some people have reported is possible, and check some local nebulae for possible sister ships to the Sarasvati.

I got to Combat Elite back in ‘84 with mouse & keyboard; nowadays I’m too old for combat, I don’t enjoy it & only do it when necessary. I do like hotas, it requires less movement, less spreading of the fingers/bending of wrists & is more immersive (no plane ever came with a mouse & kbd, you couldn’t control it in even a low g manoeuvre).

There is a secondary DW2 roster open for a short while for late signups, though the Fleetcom PG is currently not accepting new entrants due to the backlog but will reopen shortly. Mobius or other PGs can be used (not Open, gankers are following the fleet!). Not sure if Fleetcom Discord is open to new entrants at the moment, I gather everyone was caught out by the huge rush following FD newsletter & livestreams-fleet membership currently around 13 thousand! But you don’t even need to join the roster or PG or Discord to tag along, the itinerary is published in a forum thread.

which soundtrack do you mean?
