Sounds more like some kind of glitch to me. Anyway next time you post something that might be conspicuous remember to reset your router before and after posting and returning to the game, as the only way I could think of something like that can be done would be via IP Address logging. But actually nah - glitch. I cannot believe someone from FDev constantly monitoring the forums for content taht should not be posted...

Post was made with my in game name. Resetting my router won't release my IP. Flagging a post using a tool and monitoring it's existence is not difficult.

The Lovers WoW

Ok, here comes CODEX screenshots of what is important in my opinion:

At first, it's the DW article about joining DW:

So, you "unknowingly" follow some path, and afterwards you are contacted by DW.

Next one is that spacestation part:
In CODEX:

In main menu video:

We safely can assume that in this video we see that darkwheel station (if we forget about lower part of the video, with SRV)
Not much data for triangulating the exact location, but the star seems to be at least F-class, and it's rather close. Can't decide on the type of a planet, someone with better experience in exloration could give a hand here.

Now that toast/pledge part:

That one looks exactly like a path somewhere:
1. To the jewel that burns on the brow of the mother of galaxies! = Cass Z
2. To the whisperer in witch-space, the siren of the deepst void = ??? (may be should be split in two, bt most likely is one)
3. The parent's grief, the lover's woe, and the yearning of our vagabond hearts. = ??? (may be should be split in 3 parts).

I'll check the theory about part 2 when i get to cass Z (and find out needed apps to do spectrum-analysis)
Part 3 puzzles me most.

As for other clues from the CODEX:

Artifact - Omphalos Rift (Greek mythology link?) That myth about 2 eagles and all that. Either another myth about stone which was given to Kronos instead of feedig him Zeus (that one was called Omphalos too).
Children's story "Princess Astrophel and the Spiralling stars" (Link to Sydneys' sonnets?).
Also, "Hints for those with eyes to see" in that Astrophel story.

The best we got is "Princess Astrophel and the Spiralling stars" = "Astrophel and Stella", but personally i doubt that's the one.
IMO most likely it's some other story that we should find, and that "Princess Astrophel and the spiraling stars" is a metaphorical link to some other story. Could be a story from greek mythology also.
Any children's stories about princess and stars that come to mind? May be some short animation film, for example? I'd guess it also should be connected with the next part:

And that one is intresting because of that "fernweh" sensation, which is a german world: "From fern (“far”) +‎ Weh (“pain”). Can be literally translated as farsickness or longing for far-off places, as contrasted with Heimweh (“homesickness, longing for home”)." (quote from wikitionary).

If the Princess Astrophel and the spiralling stars = Astrophel and Stella theory is correct, then the key to part 3 of the Raxxla path is hidden in those sonnets (and songs also), but it's possible that understanding it is possible only after exploring part 2 of the path.

The Lovers Woe may pertain to Zhinu and Vega. Star-crossed lovers Zhinu – represented by the star Vega in the constellation Lyra – and a humble farm boy, Niulang, represented by the star Altair in Aquila.
just a thought i have been combing this thread for 3 days now chasing leads. Going to check this out tonight.

Commander PublicStaticVoid's independent investigation into the mystery of Raxxla

Preface:
To the commanders who have been to Raxxla already, what you seek to keep secret I seek to unearth... To all the explorers out there searching, we aren't done yet... To the troll master and his group of petty assassins who will undoubtedly attempt to disrupt peaceful scientific research and exploration into Raxxla "Press [X] to doubt" and move along.

Spoilers Incoming
Why is my report incomplete?
Before I wrapped myself up into a binding blood contract that could cost me everything, I have stopped short of my initiation to write this report in hopes my safety will not be in danger. In the hopes that whomever/whatever spooked other commanders who have been to Raxxla will not come after me. I am not technically initiated yet, no oath has been taken. To those who continue reading this, there may or may not be risks associated with this quest, if you are uncomfortable with possibly being completely destroyed turn back now... If science is your life, lets drive this mystery home...

What you will need to begin the initiation and gain the whereabouts of Raxxla:
A firm understanding of the story of Persephone and Demeter's as well as Persephone's abduction, a wake scanner, and 4 slots of cargo space. Outside research materials are provided below:

http://thingsinthree.blogspot.com/p/homer.html

Circumstances that may or may not make a difference
I am Elite in Exploration, have traveled across the galaxy and Sag A*, I have only a couple of system permits, nothing relevant. I am flying an 'A' grade sidewinder with a Wake Scanner and full suite of exploration tools. I research only in Solo mode and the events detailed below have occur in solo.

Persephone's Backstory for the reenactment:
Persephone was stolen from her mother Demeter while out playing far away from home in the "plains of Nysa" at the behest of her father Zeus. <Where our journey begins, and yes 'Nysa' is in the Galaxy Map>.

Notable points about Nsya

  • Where the story begins in the Greek myth
  • https://www.edsm.net/en/system/bodies/id/18452/name/Nysa
  • Nysa is in the bubble, not far from Sol and right under our noses.
  • Nysa cannot be searched for in the Galaxy map unless it is by the full name.
  • Nysa is a trinary system with stations being well over 550k out from the mains star forcing you to cover vast distances. It takes dedication to research.

Zeus knew Demeter would not willingly give up her daughter so he had Hades steal her, ripping her from her mother while she was being watched by a siren. Ultimately she became the queen of the underworld. She is worshiped by many cults throughout history who swear a vow of secrecy as they are initiated, the punishment being death.

Eleusinian Mysteries

Outside Research Materials:

There is a shadow cult that resides in Nysa... And they hold initiations in that system based on the Eleusinian Mysteries. The 3 steps to the initiation can be found at the link above and are as follows:
1. dromena ("things done"), a dramatic reenactment of the Demeter/Persephone myth
2. deiknumena ("things shown"), displayed sacred objects, in which the hierophant played an essential role
3. legomena ("things said"), commentaries that accompanied the deiknumena.

Each of these steps are staged as a series of events in game.

Initiation Phase

The initiation begins with domena. It is basically a reenactment of Persephone getting abducted. There is a ship with the name "Child", acting as persephone, that roams through open space of the system Nysa. You can find this ship by flying between Nysa A, Nysa B, Nysa C, and finally terminating at Arend Station some time. It is important to be conscious of your fuel consumption as Child flys by the stars.

https://www.edsm.net/en/system/stations/id/18452/name/Nysa/details/idS/17310/nameS/Arend+Station

Child

Child, as of yesterday, appears only to fly a Viper MK IV. It may take some time to find but I have never seen the actor playing "Child" in any other ship model, I have noticed that Child may or may not be in a wing and am unsure if there is any significance in this. Either way follow the actor to Errand station. I am not entire sure what triggers "Child" to Frameshift to a new system but she will at some point jump. I think it is because another actor I haven't scanned yet jumps into Errand and chases "Child" out of the system.

When "Child" jumps, scan the wake and follow the ship. Eventually you will end up at another station. This is where you will find that "Child" is now gone, vanished from thin air just as the myth suggests. However, a new ship "Siren" is present for a short time before disappearing too, also indicated in the story of Persephone's abduction. Jump back to Nysa where you will be greeted with a "Mission Objective Detected" alert. Using the FSS scanner, scan out the signal source (Degraded emissions Threat 0) appearing in a light shade of blue; it will reveal the signal source is 580kLy out in the direction of Bernard's Loop. This objective doesn't have a timer.

This completes the domena phase of the initiation and moves on to the deiknumena phase.

deiknumena
"Things are shown". When you drop into the signal source you will find that there are 4 canisters, the one you will recognize immediately if you read about Persephone is the Grain canister. This is the canister that is associated with Persephone and Demeter. These are the items that will need to be used to complete the deiknumena phase of the initiation.

The direction this investigation goes from this event forward is unclear, realizing that I might be committing myself to an oath of silence as the myth suggests I stopped my research to write this report first before returning to my investigations. This guide WILL get you through the first stage of the initiation. From this point forward you proceed under your own freewill I am not responsible once you take the Oath of Silence.

Steps 2 and Steps 3 of the initiation still need to be completed:
2. deiknumena ("things shown"), displayed sacred objects, in which the hierophant played an essential role
3. legomena ("things said"), commentaries that accompanied the deiknumena.

How this relates to the Raxxla Codex entry:

"The parent's grief, the lovers woe" - the story of Persephone and Demeter which lead to the Eleusinian Mysteries events.

"The Siren of the deepest void" - The Siren who lost Persephone which appears during the Domena phase of the initiation.

"To the Jewel that burns on the brow of the mother of galaxies" - Current theory: This relates to the deiknumena phase of the initiation, where the items recovered from the end of the Domena phase need to be brought.

"To the whisperer in witch space" - Current Theory: This relates to the legomena phase of the initiation. I believe the key here is "Remember Raxxla!". This is supposed to occur after deiknumena. I believe Hades will show you the way to Raxxla as suggested in one particular commanders screenshot of the ship.

"As for me, I am tormented with an everlasting itch for things remote. I love to sail forbidden seas, and land on barbarous coasts"

Calling old FRifters! Got to post here since the FRift thread was locked.

I’m on DW2 and just heading to the Conflux abandoned bases. Didn’t get out here before during the FRift quest, but thought I’d have a scout around and see if I can uncover anything, especially since I think DW hinted that there was more to find related to the Dynasty plot and we now have the fss and planet probes.

Any ideas what to look for? Whereabouts? I suspect there may be at least one other megaship- makes sense to have one per expedition....

I looked on the galmap and I noticed the FRift bases are aligned loosely along the R-R line, but the Zurara is a fair way further out and offset from the line. However the Conflux bases seem to be aligned roughly along a line but it doesnt seem to point to either FRift bases, Zurara, or anything else which seems a tad odd. But I don’t remember any discussion about the actual location of these bases. Any thoughts?

I have looked at the Conflux area and vicinity quite thoroughly. I can give you a list of earthlikes I found - but I found no beacons.

There's this story about the Anaconda, that came too close to a neutron star and had to be abandoned (Conflux Delta logs). I searched about 30 neutron stars but didn't find anything. Maybe you're more lucky than me :-/

[Edit] I'm still wondering, why one of the sites (Conflux Gamma and FR Delta) have that strange, from pieces assembled gate - the other three have the one with the name of the site on it. Maybe mapping this planet may give some additional POIs. But I think, someone posted, that mapping the FR sites has not given any additional clues

My First Post for the Great Raxxla Hunt

I'll start my post with a couple of my questions;

Firstly, "Has anyone looked into Omphalos Infotech?"
Secondly, "Has anyone tried to locate the galactic location shown in raxxla's codex entry?"
Last but not least, "What tips are there?"

With my questions aside, I've a few (Hypothetical, need testing) solutions to a few of the communities’:

-"Siren in the void" possibly refers to an ASTRONOMICAL Siren- Things we currently use in astronomy like landmarks for space.

-Maybe Raxxla is out of our reach, permit locked maybe, or somewhere like The Lemon Bubble. It would be ingame, never to be seen.

-Maybe Raxxla really is "A bit obvious" but SO OBVIOUS we dont give it second thought.

Those are my thoughts as of right now.

Where will Hades show your way? And how? Orcus? Peregrina? I don't get this mythology aspect, but there is some effort in this process. Not that anything has been proven at all, though. Scripted meetings are not entirely unheard of, but those are pretty common names. I think there are pirates with more meaningful names, maybe let them steal some of your trinkets. I love it how Ariel appears in weirdest of places, asking for some tea.

Currently exploring Conflux in a Fer-de-lance. I don't know if there is anything out there, but the chance is tempting. It could prove Salome got it all wrong. It never was about humans migrating.

Going off of the earlier commander's theory about Nysa: I did run into something similar to what he had said. I went through the system with a fine tooth comb after instancing around 25 times and never seeing a ship named Child. For the record, you cannot follow an NPC if they drop at a station. Whether you head to the station yourself or follow their low wake, they will not be there. I believe the commander was reading far too much into the NPC vanishing as it is simply how things work in the game at the moment.

So, fine tooth comb. The system has a Coriolis station, an outpost, a handful of surface outposts, and two dockable surface settlements. Two of these outposts have data points which you can scan, so I figured I would play detective and go snoop around. While both messages received were basically nonsense, upon leaving the second planet I heard a notification for a mission objective. Lo and behold, as the commander said, there was in fact a random mission signal about 500kLs out from the system. I headed there and found a wreck with some food canisters, water, and a black box. The moment I scooped the black box, I was given offered an assassination mission. An assassination with no text from Nysa Brotherhood. Huh, never had that happen before, but, alright. Its suggested rating was Elite. Sorry Ben Wilson, but this guy says your time is up and I'm 10 miles down the rabbit hole. The entire time I'm chasing him down, he's saying things like "Please, I just want to be left alone." "I just wanted to help people." "Please don't do this." But, he's wanted....hm...again, weird....but, the rabbit hole says you gotta die. Did the doormouse say anything about murder? Chase him down, kapow-kablooey, dead Ben Wilson. Head back to Nysa, turn in my mission...nothing. Reputation change. No new interesting missions. Snoop around the outpost, nothing notable on the outside or around it. No notable characters floating around. I sit in Nysa for 20 minutes, relog, jump out and back in, visit a planet and leave, all the while I never get another random mission.

So...I'd love if anyone here could go and try to replicate this, and see if they find something I didn't. Good luck commanders. For the record, my Ben was in an imperial eagle and a somewhat decent fight against my heavily engineered Cobra.

We know the Real Dark Wheel are ruthless, and its a conglomerate.I was offered an assassination mission by DW at SD after just delivering some passengers to nearby tourist system (lucrative Elite mission). So maybe you need to start taking on those assassination missions to rank up with TRDW...

Any old FRifters remember hostile npcs at the abandoned bases? What faction? Where did they jump to? Was there a cause of their hostility?
The DW2 fleet is being attacked at Conflux Delta base & this rings a bell, but advanced age & memory is poor...and babysitting grandson so searching the FRift threads is not on at the moment.

No enemies. No enemy or friendly NPCs at all.

Well, i had a theory that i checked in Frift, that those unreg.comms beacons are pointed in a direction from which the surface sites logs were coming. But testing it didn't give me a result, though it might be that i wasn't thorough enough.
Might be worthy to try the same approach in Conflux.

I finally acquired 3 SAP 8 core containers (can still be found carried by "Military Courier Vessel" in systems with war state). Going to try different things with them. Polaris and HIP 22460 are still permit locked, next i try is Triton in Sol.
Also on the list are the systems with "sap" in the name, getting scanned by a Thargoid interceptor, trigger an emp burst from the Thargoids, activate Guardian obelisk, terminal and beacon, some systems (not going to list all), the new cristaline lifeform things.

Any other things i could try?

Howdy Cmdrs,
I've been deeply reading this thread the past two weeks, taking in everyone's thoughts and views on the subtle breadcrumbs we have been left to sniff in the hunt for Raxxla. I have noticed when searching in the Galmap for star names from the internet that sometimes it doesn't find the star. Does anyone know how to find the star you want to visit but it doesnt have the same name in game?

Many Thanks.

I'll give my rrline generator a reverse and see if it comes up with any areas that way. TBH I don't think it will help, but why not?

After that Gnossis thing, I can't say I'm surprised they tossed in an engagement at Conflux. Kind of expected it.
