Ship names?

Hell, Forums are back, I need to post something, so
the best names I could come up with:

SYSPHOS: My Anaconda, does all the grinding, brave ship it is
REQUIEM: T9, I am really in love with this monster hauler
RUNNING WILD: Orca, I like Iron Maiden too. And it's a fast beast
AX FUNDRAISER: My pirate python. It raises funds for my AX ship. Give those Low Temp Diamons. NOW!
THE ROCK: ASP, deep core miner (#Mine)
CURIO: DBE, for exploring (#lost)

That makes me happy.
I love space/sci-fi TV shows, but they are usually about insta-travel between stars or whatever; The Expanse is great because it's focused solely in one system; and it takes time to get places. Love it.

Makes me wonder what a MMO-style game would be like set in the The Expanse universe. Anyway, that's Off Topic. :p

I either name my ships after either:

1. god/goddess because mythology names are cool
2. WW2 Tanks/ships I like history
3. japanese words translated in latin lettering. Most of my character names are from anime.

Here are the ships names:

Sidewinder - INV Chiisai(means small in japanese)
Imperial Eagle - INV Maki(A pirate ship from a anime called Kenran Butou Sai: The Mars Daybreak)
Viper MK 4 - Yurei(means ghost/spirit in japanese)
Diamondback Scout - INV Yamada(Explorer from japan)
Diamondback Explorer - INV Rinzo(Explorer from japan)
Type 7 - INV Orora(From same anime as the Imperial Eagle)
Imperial Clipper - INV Kreutzer(pretty obvious)
ASP Explorer - INV Artemis(Greek goddess of the hunt)
Type 9 Heavy - INV Aoki Hagane(from anime Arpeggio of Blue steel)
Imperial Cutter(Combat) - INV Black Prince(A upgraded version of the Churchill class tank from WW2)
Imperial Cutter(Trade) - INV Prince of Whales(A play on words met to be Prince of wales a British King George V class ship from WW2)

Beluga Explorer: Naked Sigularity

It’s an anomaly, only ever demonstrated in theory. The ship proved be quite an anomaly as well, being an outstanding combat ship, despite being built as an explorer.


Federal Corvette: Dainsleif

A sword from Norse mythology, which must kill whenever it is drawn. If I’m flying this, something is going to die.


Orca: Steely Dan

As is Steely Dan III from Yokohama. Read Naked Lunch. ‘Nuff said.


Dolphin: Dee Snutz

Because you’ve seen Dee Snutz. And because it’s funny.

I’m a weeb…

Asp Explorer – Yamaneko (meaning wildcat) > My Asp looks like a panther with the ship kit+paint, plus I find the sound it first makes when scooping fuel resembling a purr/cat noise : ) and it’s also a nod to a character in Golden Kamuy
Vulture – RYO > Inspired from Ryo/Satan in Devilman. Made it look like their angel form with a golden paintjob and kit parts to resemble the 12 wings
Orca – Jojolion > Named after my favorite part in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
Cobra MkIII – Blue Oni
Viper MKIII – Red Oni > The famous blue and red onis, find it fitting for those two small legend ships.
Type 6 – ECHOES > Named after a stand in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Abilities of said stand slightly inspired with my use of the ship, a long-range trader.
Type – 7 – Colonel Moutarde > The oddball, painted it mustard so I was inspired by the Colonel lol and I primarily speak French so a little of that in there.

And I got a Clipper and Krait still needing good names

Python: Muneris Cursor (rough Latin for mission runner)
Orca: Slingshot
Imperial Cutter: Heart of Gold
Federal Corvette: Scorpio (Due to the similarity to the ship of the same name from Blakes 7)

On my Second Account:
Sidewinder: Singularity (as this is the only ship on the account ) - going for Triple Elite in just a Sidewinder. Currently Elite in Both Trade and Exploration, Master in Combat.

And an AspX called Last Scattering and a Diamondback Explorer called Zenith for the old stellar cartography work.

Dolphin - Silent Lucidity / Echoes of silence / Resplendent in silence

FDS - Dolores / Desdemona / Deidre

Python - Swanheart / Black swan / Swan of Tuonela

13A FGS Rocinante. The Gunship reminds me of the Rocinante in The Expanse
24B Krait Mk II East bound and down. For smuggling;)
13D Krait Phantom A leaf on the wind. Firefly, nuff said?
