Don’t worry, unlike NMS, all the basebuilding tiles in Elite will be locked behind a paywall! That should help stave off boredom!
Eventually one gets bored with anything. People have been building bases in minecraft for years before getting bored. People are enthusiastically building massive bases in NMS.
If you personally don't like base building just say so, without the bovine feces, please.
I was hoping the base-building from the old leak was about ship and fleet carrier internal customization, but with "buildings" being mentioned, I'm not sure that's the direction they're going now. If they're planning some type of personal planetary bases, why would they want us to stick in one place, instead of exploring the galaxy? Seems contradicting to the general flow of the game.
If nothing else I want Next Era to offer a pre-order vase. Dont care what kind of vase, just give me a vase.
After watching that video, it seems that a lot of it was accurate, with the prophesising of Planet coaster Ghostbusters and all that, which means that the space legs for elite could be the next big project. It's hard for me to describe how disappointed i am with that, an fps style addition to the game, really? I guess it makes sense, perfect for what developers want to impose on the martyred console players, (many of whom don't like FPS despite the stereotype) Like there aren't a trillion other FPS out there, that will no doubt do a better job. /facepalm
Seems to me you'll be able to own vase and flower shop if you want....it's a base building after all, ingame market is already available.

What a great post! Great reminder of so many broken promises. But check your links as these two videos are not roadmap videos; they're nothing but marketing videos intended to get people to invest in the company. And this was cheap talk back 7 years ago before the game was even anywhere near 'launch'. You do realize this, correct?
It would be great to see a real development roadmap. FDev have never published one. They showed a release plan for Beyond but that wasn't a development roadmap, oh, and the release plan wasn't even followed!
And to the OP's original post: wouldn't it be funny if the so called spacelegs feature turned out to be a separate game where they basically take their Jurassic code and give you a third person view of your character and reskin the dinos to Thargoids?
