Has anyone setup or tried to setup an FC as like a starport, like with fuel and repair services?
I was thinking its a cool idea to get residual income from explorers in between Colonia and SOL as well as other places.... But I heard you yourself have to collect the resources that others use? im a bit hazy on the deets....

I wouldn't "need" any. I just passed by 4 starports in nebulas around. I just don't need it any when faster then in 6 months :D Most likely will be back in bubble 1-2 weeks later.
Damn. Tripple star with 9 earth/water/teras and distances like 300 000ls :( This will take an hour.

hmmm... mobile base wouldnt be half bad for my own exploration, though expensive, ive never had a problem with just my amfu even with nutron jumping.... meh, guess ill never get one lol
Yeh, that what I think too. Base can be useful, once in couple months :D But most time it is 1500ly/hr at best = slow down.

There is a beacon left by cmdr Cannon in Hecate system saying it is nice view of rings. Well, using FC you will have 20 times better views for sure :D Each time i was swapping to miner on beta I saw incredible things. Steady orbits there are cool.

HOLD UP, WAIT A MINUTE!!

Has everyone took this Codex entry in properly? I know I missed it until right now....

I thought it was ".. to the whisper in witchspace..." but its not....

its whisperER...

So when the toast is read, it can be read a different way....

To the jewl that burns on the brow of the mother of galaxies! -- Thats one statement, by the punctuation mark being used

To the whisperER in witch-space, the siren of the deepsest void! -- Thats also one statement

The parent's grieft, the lover's woe, and the yearning of our vegabond hearts. -- one statement

To Raxxla!

Im not sure what exactly im pointing out here, but I just thought it was important to make the destinction that its whisperer, not whisper, meaning a reference to a person? like the mother of galaxies reference?

IDK, just felt I should share my discovery for anyone who also missed it themselves and thought it was whisper. Maybe it sparks some more ideas in someone....

personally ive come to think the toast is 3 systems, or two systems and a description of life as a raxxla hunter.... but if only 2 systems, why and what and huh? two systems would be unlikey as there is no infer anything from that besides a distance calc, unless we are too assume a 3rd system like Shenz

CMDR "Validating" ...when I pick deepest nowhere, getting 20 of 1st visits 1 by 1 ...and then meet system scanned by him :D Like he is always with me.

Oh ...found who is it :D

Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/4bf1cy/who_is_cmdr_validating/

LOL yea id believe that, I know that my first discoveries that ive made, as an xbox user, always take several weeks before they show my CMDR name in the galmap on my console, sometimes say validating forever, i remember my very first set of systems i got first discovery on took over 3 weeks before i saw my CMDR name instead of Validating....

My buddy said it was because there are lots of CMDRs who go out exploring and never return to a station, either they die, stop playing, or even worse, stop playing for months, and return just moments before me with the data. And that the server needs the time to validate I was infact the first person to discover and sell the data at a station, and that an other player, on another server or platform, didnt make it to a station before me, even by a few seconds, and sell the data before me...

In my opinion these 3 describe ONE system. System that will match all 3!
Ps Someting dangerous. Siren - like one that pulls sailors in to the water (White dwarf or neutron)? Whisperer (Pulsar)?

''The parent's grieft, the lover's woe, and the yearning of our vegabond hearts.'' Just refers that for the parents of many adventurers that went to seek it and died, is a grief. Lover's woe - just that it is dangerous to the adventurer who is finally close to it.

''the yearning of our vagabond hearts'' - just that it is seeked by those who are charmed by this myth and are obsessed with it, like the TDW is.

Also there is popular children stories in russia where beautiful princess witch has a star on her brow. What star might it be?

Oh wait I remember something. It is from Russia's MAIN legendary writer Aleksandr Sergejevitš Puškin. He is regarded as the father of modern Russian literature.
He has a story read and known by every single Russian -
«Сказка о царе Салтане» or «Сказка о царе Салта́не, о сыне его славном и могучем богатыре князе Гвидо́не Салта́новиче и о прекрасной царевне Лебеди»
''The Tale of Tsar Saltan'' or ''The Tale of Tsar Saltan, of His Son the Renowned and Mighty Bogatyr Prince Gvidon Saltanovich, and of the Beautiful Princess-Swan ''

The story is about three sisters. The youngest is chosen by Tsar Saltan (Saltán) to be his wife. He orders the other two sisters to be his royal cook and weaver. They become jealous of their younger sister. When the tsar goes off to war, the tsaritsa gives birth to a son, Prince Gvidon (Gvidón.) The older sisters arrange to have the tsaritsa and the child sealed in a barrel and thrown into the sea.

The sea takes pity on them and casts them on the shore of a remote island, Buyan. The son, having quickly grown while in the barrel, goes hunting. He ends up saving an enchanted swan from a kite bird.

The swan creates a city for Prince Gvidon to rule, but he is homesick, so the swan turns him into a mosquito to help him. In this guise, he visits Tsar Saltan's court, where he stings his aunt in the eye and escapes. Back in his realm, the swan gives Gvidon a magical squirrel. But he continues to pine for home, so the swan transforms him again, this time into a fly. In this guise Prince Gvidon visits Saltan's court again and he stings his older aunt in the eye. The third time, the Prince is transformed into a bumblebee and stings the nose of his grandmother.

In the end, The Prince expresses a desire for a bride instead of his old home, at which point the swan is revealed to be a beautiful princess, whom he marries. He is visited by the Tsar, who is overjoyed to find his newly married son and daughter-in-law.
Her description:

''The Swan Princess - the character of the fairy tale A.S. Pushkin "The Tale of Tsar Saltan." The heroine is endowed with a kind and sympathetic soul, she helps the young prince Gvidon build himself a wonderful city, get a magic squirrel and a powerful guard. The princess has a magical gift: she repeatedly turns Prince Gvidon into insects (a mosquito, a bumblebee) and herself turns from a white swan into a beautiful girl, from whom you can’t take eyes off: “In the daytime overshadows the light of God, at night she illuminates the earth - moon shines under the scythe and a star burns in the forehead(brow). She is of course majestic, appears as a pava(?); her sweet talk is like a little river babbling. ''

Also I found on wiki that Brothers Grimm has ''Virgo with a golden star in her forehead'' but I need someone who knows to elaborate on this.

Just a thought, has there been a group of players that just decided to start calling themselves the Dark Wheel? In the codex it says if something like that happened it wouldn’t happen for long but it might force fdev to do something if the group got big enough
I had a moment ago typed out that yes there was one but it only had one player in it and I assumed they had stopped playing because they didn't have any other players. Afterwards I had went to inara to get the link to show you all and unfortunately inara says there is no such Squadron. Take that however you would like

In a russian book ''Northern capital. Metaphysics of St. Petersburg''
There is discussion of that story. It says that a source and inspiration for Puškin were oral folklore of his time (early 1800s) around Petersburg's region villages that had mixed Finnish-Russian tradition.

The apperance of Swann princess is clearly slavic-finnish. Swann is often Russian motif, good bride often compared to good hunt. History of apperance can be traced to ancient goddess Vellamo.

The star on the brow and moon under scythe is very atypical for russian folklore of that time, but is widely used by people of ''Kalevala'' culture. Widely known particularly in Ingermanland.
Runes were written, where heroine, often daughter of a smith, embarged to the Pohjola (Mythic place that is in the north, Kalevala)(Also Northern star-Polaris is connected) to rescue the stolen luminaries.
watch the picture in https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pohjola_(Kalevala)
It is literally a portal under polaris.
800px-Northern_lights_lithograph_partial.jpg
The heroine is often depicted coming back with luminaries carrying them on her head, eyebrows or shoulders.

P.s. α UMi / Ursae Minoris / Polaris in Ursa Minor or Little Bear constellation
Polaris, the brightest star in the constellation, is a yellow-white supergiant and the brightest Cepheid variable star in the night sky, ranging from an apparent magnitude of 1.97 to 2.00. Beta Ursae Minoris, also known as Kochab, is an aging star that has swollen and cooled to become an orange giant with an apparent magnitude of 2.08, only slightly fainter than Polaris. Kochab and magnitude 3 Gamma Ursae Minoris have been called the "guardians of the pole star".[3] Planets have been detected orbiting four of the stars, including Kochab. The constellation also contains an isolated neutron star—Calvera—and H1504+65, the hottest white dwarf yet discovered, with a surface temperature of 200,000 K.

Also a heads up for everyone. I visited surface point in the INRA storyline and it appeared as GEOLOGICAL SIGNAL on the panel before I landed there, I don't remember how it was on screen when I selected it. Just a reminder that Elite Dangerous is not a perfect game and Raxxla or wheel station might be never found because developers never bothered to check if it is not bugged lol

P.S. I remember it now. I knew INRA site was on that body. On the nav panes it only had GEOLOGICAL SIGNALS, but I started eyeballing each one and pointing my crosshair on it in free look mode in cockpit. And yes, there was the site with correct name, it only appeared geo sig on the nav panel, put if you checked each signal on the planes by pointing at it would show correct name
That kind of things genuinely enrage me. We are probably wasting our collective time playing this folly project.

The 2 squadrons exists called "Dark Wheel" and "The Dark Wheel" (and not The Dark Wheel probably because the minor faction exists). "Dark Wheel" is just for fun, nothing serious with 12 members. Afaik anyone can join. "The Dark Wheel" only has 2 members though.

Polaris is sometimes refered as Aurora, but in game it is not near Polaris but in another direction near Sol under Felicia. There is second star with that name in Colonia named Aurora Astrum
