He cant be a patsy. We dont know his middle name. All patsys are known by 3 names. Most famous example Lee Harvey Oswald. If he had of really done it, nobody would have known his middle name was Lee. The feds are essentially CIA ancestors so would surely follow this tradition :D

Assassins have to have a middle name you mean? Like John Wilkes Booth!

Oswald....did you see the programme on UK tv a while ago where they had a former detective team go over the facts of the JFK assassination (as known) & available video recordings. Seem to remember their conclusion was that the bullet that killed Kennedy did not come from Oswald’s gun; it came from the wrong direction (& maybe wrong calibre? Was a while ago, cant remember it well), but could have come from the gun kept by the Secret Service in the chase car; concluded that on hearing Oswald’s shot it was possible they pulled up their gun which was kept off-safety for speed & they accidentally shot him in their haste. Moral- never hire bodyguards with middle names?

Found two more systems that would fit the Argonautica hypothesis for the alleged toast. Assuming this hypothesis is correct, several of the systems are ~100ly apart so need intermediate jumps and so the game cant be keeping track of consecutive jumps (at gamma release & up till quite recently no ship had 100+ly capability). Might be you have to visit all six destinations within a given time, or a given number of jumps, & maybe in the correct order....Already said a couple of the systems are uninhabited so shouldn’t be a matter of getting allied at all. Mmmm, might be there’s a test at each, the uninhabited systems could be visit a USS or maybe kill a pirate, though didn’t see any until I got to the last system which is an inhabited anarchy with strangely appealing faction description (could TDW be an anarchy? Had assumed until now a cooperative). Might be there are six points all visible from the toast position & have to visit the centroid. Maybe you have to visit all six destinations then ally with the faction who then set a membership test; given an anarchy it’s probably going to be to kill a policeman/good politician mission to check your morals? (Musing over DB’s comment about a secret organisation). Checked with the two variants I figured out so far & one centroid is near to a couple of systems, one of which is Tau Ceti (seems suggestive!).

Just thinking out loud while waiting for coffee and chocolate bar to kick in.... copawlot had another two fits last night so didn’t sleep well & am pretty zonked this morning. Mmm, might have another coffee!!

So is this personal journey to become an FD employee?

Ah, you mean infiltrate The Club leadership to get inside information! I like it, but I’m no software developer, and happily enjoying my retirement. Maybe one of the young whippersnappers here wants to try it? 😉😎👀

edit: of course if you're found out expect to be fed to the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal!

sheeh, I even tried flying to mars and see if I could see the famous "Face on mars" should be in the coast region Acidalia Planita > Cydonia Mesa [+40.75 N,+9.46 W long].
I don't think we can see that level of detail from orbit.

Then I took a flight to Peresephone a 2G heavy planetoid (Planet X I guess, the missing 10th planet) In the system map > planet view, if you squint hard, and get intoxicated with a cargo hold full of contraband, it looks like letters in the northern hemisphere.
I wanted to have a look from my cockpit, but I counldn't make heads or tails due to orientation issues :)
Got som lovel materials, but then got blown up when I went to defend the installation there. Soo can't be bothered to fly back out there.
Anyway I got a hold of the greek version of the odyssey so I'll get that up, and check out the likely candidates (systems, planets, factions) and get that on the board in a few days.

No but i saw the on on Ch4 a few years ago where they had a 'sharpshooter' or 'marksman' ranked (Ranger trained and same as Oswald anyway) guy, using the same bolt action rifle, fire and reload it 3 times in 5.4s (way below the 7s thats supposedly impossible) so that put paid to that bit. He said that was a basic qualification for the rank.

Then they got him up a crane thing and put him 5 stories up, put the car in the same vector and position, 'people' in the car were those CSI gel dummy things designed to act like human tissue, and he did it again. This time one of the bullets (the 2nd in Z film), hit in exactly the same place and caused exactly the same 'explosion' shown in the video. the same reaction from the 'body' in the same direction, nobody expected it. All captured on film. So that solved that. Conspiracies are fun but facts are facts.

Oh, and the guy who was a sharpshooter? He was trained at same time as Oswald and was now in his 60s :) 5.4s for 3 shots in his 60s:)

My invite is lost in the post...bloody galactic mail :p

Its email now, check your spam folder. Imagine that, we all got an invite already stuck in Spam.

Just a thought.... I have always thought that Parents Grief could be a reference to the killing of Niobe and Amphions children... One of those children was named Ogygia...

I don’t know if it has anything to do with Raxxla but At HIP 2296 which is also the only numbers mentioned in the codex about Raxxla..hence 2296. I found some planets and anomalies with the metallic crystals around the 8th planet of a gas giant of all places. But the biggest thing to stand out is that the planets were discovered by real commanders exploring but were first scanned my Mic Turner who’s supposed to be dead since the game went live. I’ve been hunting all surrounding systems for more bodies scanned by Mic Turner but haven’t found any yet. The second big thing I thought about when I seen the name was the unknown pilot somebody sent out in the lore, can’t remember if it even has anything to do with anything. Have to dig deeper into it.

May be a irl commander using Mic Turner or may be a lead

I've often thought that the invite comes to the first person who fills the codex completely.

But the Codex didn’t exist until recently, so FD would have had to change the mechanism to achieve Raxxla from the mechanism implemented since the gamma release. Far more likely the Codex is just a way to provide us a few unhelpful clues but mainly to normalise the lore which was previously stated in books external to the game (which some people objected to), and most of which have been retconned.

An interesting side not is that when the Codex came out, it was empty for everyone. Even for Commanders that had seen it all, before. This tells me that FD has never had much track on what we do at all and that there probably isn't any huge hidden database on each commander.
Pre codex, it was just the stat page on the Right-panel. Now it is the codex.

The only real gate that was present at launch and applicable to the Dark Wheel was the Founders permit. That permit would give access to do missions for the Dark Wheel faction. It does not have to be more complex than that. If you are allied when you find the station, you get invited. If not, you are not welcome. 🤷‍♂️

There is a Commander Mic Turner, in the game. It could of course be one of FD's acted characters, but most likely it's just a player.

Its flipping annoying they didn't lock some lore names off from Cmdr use.....recently saw the KS pledge £1500 and get 'Jameson' in your name, I can see both sides but it has made me think theres something where there isn't before.

Why am I disappointed by that when in any other setting Id be appalled if they did? Frontier dont mass surveillance us and we are like 'Why not!?'

Yes, I’ve pondered a few times over the full stats recorded and whether TDW invitation could be calculated in-game from those. But what could trigger their interest as a “legendary group of adventurers, explorers, investigators and treasure-hunters; only a handful of the bravest and most competent pilots of each generation are honoured with an invitation to join”. I’m triple elite, member of 64 kylies club, friends with all current engineers, been to Sag A* & Beagle Point & Colonia. Dived more than my fair share of BH. Scanned a few thousand systems & first discoverer on quite a few. Still no invitation (unless I failed the test?). As a goody two-shoes I rarely go outside the law, don’t murder many (& they deserve it), never massacred civilians.....

But I find it strange that nobody has yet found their station (unless they have & are keeping it quiet). Don’t believe Lyta Crane that it orbits 8th moon of a GG, but I do suspect it does not get instanced until you’ve passed the test, or it’s in a permit-locked system and the test gives you the permit (perhaps this is more likely). “Bravest & most competent pilots” does suggest perhaps BH or anti-pirate ops. I received the “agents sent after you” message once, ages ago, when I was BH to raise my combat rating. Perhaps you have to kill the agents to get it?

Edit:
Just looked at my notes from And Here The Wheel. Chapter 12 says:
TDW are elite-ranked treasure hunters from a bygone age, tales of the Ryder family, they found monsters beyond explored space, they never found Raxxla but found something else-Soontill, a former Thargoid planet lost by them, full of Thargoid treasures that TDW (who are really the Ceepers (Circle of Independent Elite Pilots)) exploit.
Ch13: In an explored planetary system, sufficiently far from civilisation to be of little interest, with a red dwarf star, an asteroid belt & a blue-green gas giant, the CIEP base orbits the gas giant & rotates with Imp standard gravity.

So should we be concentrating around Soontill? Red dwarf star matches the codex pic.

Edit2: think a blue-green GG is type 3. EDSM says there are 14,714! Can’t see how to add in type M subdwarf to the search filter!!! Spansh/bodies doesn’t do logical AND in the filtering (I asked him a while ago).

Edit3: interestingly (or not) Neptune is in-game as a Type I, whereas it should be a Type III
