Mystery's continuation: New message from ''Salvation''

I'm not able to check out this just yet... but based on what i know so far; does the order of 15/16 actually matter, especially if 17 has been found already?

The beacon messages appear fairly mundane atm.
They're little more than identifiers that wouldn't make sense unless you know what you're looking at, but they are technically in a numbered sequence. #13, for instance, was "AZB2/H002255/TX-B-13".

AZB2 is probably Azimuth Biochem #2 (#1 being the Adamastor), the H###### part is probably a reference to the Hesperus ship ID, and "TX-B13" refers to it being beacon 13 (the number at the end is the only thing that differs).

In that sense, the 15/16 text mixup was a little confusing. But Cannon's spreadsheet did a good job of tracking distance from the origin point, so the fact that it was an unintended typo was pretty obvious.

I suspect Salvation is actually Thunderchild from the GCs Saravati logs, an AI developed to protect humanity by listening for Thargoid signals, but when Galcop collapsed and Project Equinox was closed down he was abandoned. He’s been patiently watching ever since and is now moving to protect humanity from the goid threat. Which was recently exacerbated by the Alliance terrabombing ammonia worlds in the Coalsack.

I'm glad to see others subscribing to my 'Salvation is an uncontrolled AI' tinfoil theory 😁

Just something to consider:

from what i understand, we are assuming that the search area is 300LY from Beacon 17, however, all we know is that 17 beacons were dropped, and each beacon was approximately 100LY apart. The Pharmasapien takeover occurred after Beacon 17, but before Beacon 18 was deployed. So the 300LY radius could start anywhere <100LY after beacon 17. But that would just be evil to do.

It's true, there's a lot of unknown between when beacon #17 was deployed and when the derelict wreck ended up in Scivener hands. But there's already almost 15,000 systems in the 300ly search radius of the final beacon, so if that's not enough then I think "evil" would an understatement. :D

Alright, back from RL work and I am somewhat surprised the Hesperus mystery hasn't been solved yet. Canonn, what are you guys doing? You're beginning to slack off! :p

The Euros started so Salvation can take a back seat here.

Check if any systems have a population > 1 within 300 LY of beacon #17.
