Do you have pictures?
Sure! I'll do a quick google search.

One problem I've had with scenery packs is that a lot of them aren't the kind of architecture you would expect in a zoo--rather, a lot of them felt theme park-y like Planet Coaster. For a European scenery pack (I posted my ideal animal list on the last page--ibex, red deer, Eurasian lynx, white stork) I'd like to see a modern/gardening theme with both backstage props and garden features like birdhouses, bird feeders, and even artificial beehives.

I think only the animal scenery is over the top mpst of the time. Each pack I can think of also had very versatile pieces.

Arctic - wood and planks
SA - rope, bamboo, old bricks
Australia - barn pieces
Aquatic - tiled roofs and colorable wood
Africa - lots of plaster.

Australia is super versetile, have you seen thise roofs, walls, wood and run down metall pieces? They are incredible!
And i could do a whole thread about the arctic scenery or the bamboo, its honestly so great, i dont get where people are coming from when they critcise the packs for being "too themeparkey"

I think they mean the animal statues and signs. Realistically, most zoos have decoration relating to its animals. In PZ, half the animals have no decorationz and each dlc comes with its own very theme park like artwork, which clashes with all other themes in the game.

I'd prefer if we also had for each species:
1. Stone statue
2. Blank cutout
3. Coloured cutout

As is we only have the over themed ones.

We often talk about how European animals could come in other packs since many of them are found in different continents. Today I want to focus on the other way round: how a European pack could benefit other regions, some of them very underrepresented in the game:

North Africa (currently it only has fennec foxes, flamingos and Nile monitors)
-Red deer
-Red fox
-Great white pelican or Dalmatian pelican
-Eurasian otter
-Wild boar
-Crested porcupine

Middle East (currently it only has grey wolves and flamingos)
-Red deer
-Fallow deer
-Red fox
-Wild boar
-Great white pelican or Dalmatian pelican
-Eurasian otter
-Eurasian lynx
-European badger

Japan (currently it only has Japanese macaques)
-Red fox
-Wild boar

North America (which is already well represented)
-Red fox
-Wolverine

Other areas in Asia that are well represented
-Red fox
-Wolverine
-Eurasian lynx
-Eurasian otter
-Wild boar
-Great white pelican

Finally, I want to add the despite sharing many animals, we also have some endemic European animals:

-Alpine ibex
-Alpine marmot
-European mink
-Iberian lynx
-Iberian ibex
-European bison
-Southern Chamois

My pack:
Ibex
- Super Iconic of the European mountains like the Alps and the Pyrenees. Always in the cartoons when we talk about mountains or Switzerland. It was present in both ZT1 and ZT2! A true Icon!
Iberian Lynx - It is one of the true successes of ex-situ conservation in the world. Although it was not bred in zoos, but in reproduction centres. Nowadays a few zoos in Portugal and Spain start exhibiting the species as well. It is the only endemic species of felid on the European continent and the most endangered and rare species of felid in the world. It was present in ZT2
European Bison - Again like the lynx, this species survived from only 12 individuals thanks to zoos! It is the largest species of bison and the largest European land animal.
Wolverine - also strongly associated with NA, but very common in Scandinavia. It was present in ZT2.
Fire Salamander - Very iconic, colourful and part of European folk history and ancient culture.

As an Animal pack:
Fallow deer: I think it is more iconic than the red deer, although I love them both!
Wild Boar
Red Fox

MENTIONS:
Barbary Macaque: the population living in Gibraltar is the only primate species of the European continent (excluding humans of course) - In ZT2
Eurasian badger
Red Deer
Chamois
Eurasian Otter

My fourth pick is something I haven't seen discussed at all here but the more I think about it the more of a no-brainer it seems--the white stork.

Not only is the white stork a visually striking animal, but it's one which has played an outsized part in European folklore and culture. It is commonly kept in zoos around the world (the above picture is from Zoo Atlanta) and would also bolster African and Asian representation. Plus, more wading birds...
No one biting on this one?

The more i think about it, the stronger of an advocat i become about having a domestic animal in the europe pack, especally if its an animal pack.
Europe has a rich culture and history of domestic breeds, so it would be the perfect time to introduce atleast one more outside of an dedicated domestic animals pack.

My two favorite choices from europe would be the scottish highland cattle and a donkey. Both are cute and iconic animals, both are commonly found in zoos and both have a striking apperance. It also doesnt hurt that both are members of underrepresented groups.
But what do you guys think? Would you like 1 or 2 domestic animals in your european pack?

I've never been much of a fan of farm animals in zoos, but if we are going to get them I prefer at least 3-4 so we can build a dedicated area in our zoos... Just 1 domestic animal would feel like the black sheep of the roster
And 3-4 domestic animals would bee too much for a European DLC, we have more than enough wild ones to fill it.

On the other side, technically we already have 3 domestic animals in the game (reindeer, camel, llama) and even a dog breed, so... 🤷‍♂️

I'd be fine with Scottish Highland cattle, in some nature reserve/parks they just let them roam freely to do "maintenance" with vegetation. But i'd prefer a "clone" Wisent above that one :D
2 domestic animals would be too much in a pack.

That was mainly a complaint about including the Llama instead of the Capybara.
Axtually a lot of people like the Llama.
I’d certainly count myself as someone who complained/does complain about the llama because it’s a domesticate. I’d have much preferred the vicuña or guanaco since they’re wild species. Sure, a lot of zoos have domestic sections but having wild animals is what defines a zoo. Once another 100 or so wild species are added I could get behind a domestic pack… maybe.

Just out of curiosity, do you complain as much about camels?

Not so much since there’s less difference between domesticated and wild Bactrian camels than between llamas and vicuña (IMO). I haven’t used either in a zoo though. Another factor is that llamas are so common in farms - if I want to see a llama I just drive in a rural area. The same isn’t true of camels, especially Bactrian camels (at least where I live).
