Any teamwork driven CMDRs in Valheim?

The snap to could sure use some work.
found that building ladders are a must when trying to construct things more than 3 units high.
Cleared my first dungeon, but died at least 6 times trying to do so.
Guess I should upgrade my rags, which means lots of boar hunting.
Anyone find that the days are too short, the nights too long?

heh this is a brutal game - only one Sunken Crypt on the 4 islands I have walked over, so decided to take a sea trip to find more swamps. Was going quite well until I met the inevitable sea monster for which I was woefully under-prepared. So that's all my best bronze gear sunk to the bottom of the ocean I think - I'll be back after a few days, after all I had just come across what looked like an extensive swamp :)

I am pretty sure I saw a post that stated your tombstone will sit on the top of the water if you die in the ocean.

I won't ask why you went bare-handed into the mountains. OK, I lied: Why did the others banish you?
We went there with my Wolf Cloak, Iron Pickaxe and good food. We found a lot of silver, but on my way home we got intercepted by a group of wolves at night. They didn't actually kill me, the sudden stop after falling down a cliff when I tried to dodge them did. Body was deep in the mountains, and I respawned at my bed in our first mountain base (the one where we removed the portal to get it to the hut next to the silver. Well, we didn't bind to the new beds, so now here we were, stuck in the cold with no way out - to far to run, when we died we returned to the last bed.

The third of us came with some cold-resistance-mead, we managed to recoup our stuff and, most importantly, the silver. (there is also /resetspawn, which would probably reset the spawn to the original stone circle where you get dropped - we didn't try that. You can't destroy beds with bare hands btw ;) )

Still looking for a sunken crypt but those swamps are vicious. I need what you have, a large massive one. I have a teeny tiny sliver with one turnip seed and just lonesome angry draugr wanting some of ole Stonny boy's flesh meat. Oh and those leeches eee

Dude, I just want to say out loud... jumpin Jesus on a pogo stick that is impressive. My box and dox look like... tinkertoys now, man.

Crackin good setup there, outstanding picture to find oodles of details to admire. Fantastic job.
Err...I flattened the ground a bit, dug the moat and built the fence. My very talented mate did all the complicated looking stuff .... :D

Can you describe what everything is? Everything looks tremendously well planned out. It looks like I need to settle in a new region, bigger and better, of course. I could use some inspiration.

Think platforms and swamp leveling. Only one mob will attack above the ground although archers are still a danger.

Next time I'm in game I'll try to do a short vid tour of what's what...most of it is fairly simple...it just looks posh the way my mate designed the layout and built it. He really has some talent for that side of Valheim the same as he did building some fantastic bases in NMS. I just don't have the patience.

That would be super, thx m8.

Nm, just got my poopdeck repeatedly handed to me in a big swamp I found. I must not be ready.

So I got all my bronze, with sword and buckler, all upgraded to the max of two lol. I have sausages and some meads. There's no way this setup is ready to take on the Elder yet, is it? Am I supposed to pony up now and go git rekt?

edit-
Why am I so scared??? lol

For the elder your really need fire arrows. The mechanics of the fight really involve a lot of running :) and keeping in mind that the only thing he cannot destroy is the stone pillars/rune stone at his summoning spot. An excellent spot to hide behind and snipe him with arrows but you cannot stay at the one pillar as his other 2 attacks can get you there.

Right on, I think I can handle that. In fact I was headed across the ocean to face him when I got distracted... and then crashed. I respawned at my bed but my boat was gone! It looked like it just went back in time; where I was at when it crashed wasn't even shown as discovered on the map. So I went about my business rebuilding another boat for the next attempt.

So I set sail and head towards the Kraken I last got some chitin from. He's not there but...

I found my boat!!!! \o/ Way out in the middle of the ocean. Hmm.

If anyone fancies helping me get this craft back to shore I'd be more than happy to join up with you. I could return a favor in exchange perhaps.

I can't believe I found this thing lol

Probably be fine, and he gives you the key that lets you into sunken crypts, if you need motivation. I just did what dizzy suggested and killed him first time - didn't even have sausages at the time.

o7 Consider motivated. I'm driven by sunken crypts and now I finally know why I've yet to experience them!

I have a full quiver of fire arrows, a case of minor and medium stamina mead, my armor, my fine bow, my wits, my mits, and Gladys.

I spent this whole time doing recon on the other island, mostly negotiating a narrow passage of Black Forest that went between endless coastlines of Plains (man those are salty!) which eventually led to Elder's altar. It's at the top of a mountain and looks kinda crowded for running around in while blasting arrows. We will see.

A small camp with a portal has been established, I tried to push my first boat back to the coast (total waste of time), I returned home, fed the pigs with exotic overseas mushrooms and tended the garden. Now I rest until tomorrow's assault on The King of the Forest.

I found I didn't move more then a few feet away from the pillars, as they are good cover, so 'should be fine'. Worth clearing out anything spawning extra enemies nearby, as the Elder is enough to concentrate on :)

I think they're just pretty rare - I've found one so far, unlike Burial Crypts that are everywhere. The key just (AFAIK) lets you in the door - you shoudl still be able to see then without the key, just not get in. My next swamp area is guarded by a small sliver of plains, as I found when I headed there yesterday and got deathsquito'd

This game really doesn't reward charging ahead blindly :D

Good hunting!

Glad to see you've returned 👍

Let's get some today, baby

Well, that was easier than I thought. This is pretty much what my fight consisted of:

Got all worked up for nuthin :p

Do people think it's worth making large bases with moats & walls? I've gone down the other road of having lots of small outposts (some are just a workbench and portal). I have a couple of more developed hubs, but only one of them has bothered with a wall. I've had a couple of troll events, one I drove off, the other I just went elsewhere until it finished and when I came back things were mostly standing.

I know that if I did put all that effort in I would then find a new resource that would make me move again :)

Sunken Crypts are going better now - the combination of sausages & enough anti-poison potions, with a bit of judicious hoe-ing makes the swamps not too bad, and I finally found a swamp with more than 1 crypt. Plus unlocking the abyssal harpoon makes leeches more useful 😈
