The sad thing is that the actual ship seems like it's cool and good and fun to fly and make builds with, but everything around it just sours it for people as things keep piling up.
So far the best use case that has come to mind is high difficulty assassination missions, which are often some distance from the star, and there may be some HGEs to be had along the wayThat said, it is pretty, and it has better SCO handling than anything else in the game, so maybe a combat focused HGE gatherer might be a good direction?
Same thing different magnitude.
The Armor rating looked like it could be engineering acceptable for ax cz's, at least planetary port cz's, and it absolutely slides sideways from what I've seen. The cockpit view in VR won't be as good as a Chieftan, but I look forward to deleting scouts in one, and the extra firepower and convergence should be good for hearts. Just not till August. So far the best use case that has come to mind is high difficulty assassination missions, which are often some distance from the star, and there may be some HGEs to be had along the way
If everyone closes their wallets the game will soon cease to exist and the servers will be turned off. In case you hadn't noticed, FDEV aren't doing to well financially and by buying ARX we're helping to keep the game supported for longer, so we can all keep enjoying it.
I mentioned in another thread that there is a possibility that this ties in with PP V2 where they show reasonably substantial Arx being awarded for playing and this might be to offset that. However, some communication about it rather than letting everyone try to figure it out themselves would be far preferable, and if they have gone up not because of the above, then I got nothing..A bit of a slap in the face, that is true!
And I would understand and support any of your actions SirYeah, I do a bit...
Sad that we will never have our paths cross in game, I'm still uncertain if I would try to KOS or invite you to join our band of social undesirables, maybe even both!
Is that a good thing? Play this way in game or be penalised by additional costs for cosmetics.I mentioned in another thread that there is a possibility that this ties in with PP V2 where they show reasonably substantial Arx being awarded for playing and this might be to offset that. I don't know, that's a fundamentally very broad question that you could just as easily ask in regards to supermarket loyalty cards, credit card rewards points, or giving your mate a discount when he brings his car in for a tune up.Is that a good thing? Haha... pray that they don't alter the deal any further. If nobody buys into the P2W, they can always keep all the shiny new toys behind the paywall, you know?Sorry FDEV, I'll wait till August 7th and use ingame credits.
I’m going to have a difficult time playing this game when a ship I want to try out is locked behind a purchase I refuse to make, so I will most likely stop playing until August. Assuming a pattern is being set here though, that will put me in the same boat come August with the next ship introduced with the pay for no delay mechanic, potentially putting me in a holding pattern for a year before the next four ships are all buyable with in game credits. I guess my happy medium would be caring enough about the game to play it while not caring enough about the game to be excited for new things they add to it. I’m not sure if this weird position is more on me or them, but I don’t like it.Sorry FDEV, I'll wait till August 7th and use ingame credits.
So what ? Imho they can keep them then...If nobody buys into the P2W, they can always keep all the shiny new toys behind the paywall, you know?
No, you should play more, make 'em pay more for server costs! /sI’m going to have a difficult time playing this game when a ship I want to try out is locked behind a purchase I refuse to make, so I will most likely stop playing until August. Sure, IMHO as well. But you can bet that people will still buy it, just because it is something others can't get. I think this would then be the fastest progression from cosmetics shop to full-blown P2W the industry has ever seen. Nice to witness record breaking history in real-time.So what ? The EA P2 cash ship is fine. But in conjunction with high price increases across the board in store, no.
It's like announcing to my employees on a Friday afternoon 'we have a new coffee machine on the floor, 10 pence per cup, enjoy'.
...Only to discover the following Monday morning they are required to pay £10 parking, per day. When previously free.
Flimley
I sat & thought about the P2 after having a good chat last night with a couple of the group I mess around with. I'd been initially keen on getting it EA, then it didn't look quite so good on the streams so I wavered a bit, I think it should carry a C7 PP & Distro, just like the P1 / Kraits, but whatever...The sad thing is that the actual ship seems like it's cool and good and fun to fly and make builds with, but everything around it just sours it for people as things keep piling up.
