Beta FAQ

There's a key press available that allows beta stuff to be transferred to the main game, accessed only while docked at Hutton Orbital :p

in a Imp Cutter.....

I thought it only activates if you dock in the free Anaconda you get at Colonia after getting the voucher at Beagle Point?

Really looking forward to the Beta. Will be grinding Guardians since I hear it Fdev will make the unlocks easier in the beta. The unlocks carry over back into the main game, right?

I add one point.

You can restart your CMDR in the beta and start a fresh new game. Your CMDR on the Live server won't be affected.

You may prefer this option rather than self-destruct if self destructing will not bring you back to the bubble because you docked to Colonia Bubble or some Asteroid base.

This might be especially helpful if you're a new player. In Beyond 3.0 beta a fresh new CMDR received 100 milion credits to try out all ships and modules (in beta prices were much cheaper too) and a lot of materials to experiment the Engineers changes.

Well you can't take it with you (seriously)

Seeing as what happens in beta stays in beta, are we having a Big Beta Blowout at the end of this beta test?

Possibly - there are new ship(s) after all ;) I think the last couple they just switched off, so nothing special - maybe this time we should have a mass mining expedition - for beta testing purposes, obviously ;)

Here's a suggestion:

"Test all the new features from this beta. Don't treat it as an excuse to go on a pew pew rampage with cheap ships. Other players may be trying to test something specific so don't blow them up without asking. Don't only test the combat features."

I add another point.

For the ones who don't have access to Jameson's Memorial, in Beyond 3.0 beta another station had a shipyard with all ships and modules available. It was Station Vonarbourg co-operative in Wyrd System. It might be the same for the next beta.

Hmm

There is one thing we CAN take take out of Beta into the live build.

Knoweldge.

Imagine if on wednesday someone finds Raxxla...

This is true.
And also apprehended.

That's why I'll beg the community for the following:

If you want to post something about the new POIs and other things to discover, PLEASE mark thread-titles with
and include pictures and descriptions in spoiler tags as well!
Some people (including myself) might want to be surprised by the new content and experience it first hand with no knowledge whatsoever - but still want to browse the forum and discuss the other additions to 3.3 without the fear of unwanted information.
Marking threads that reveal the new content accordingly would indeed be such a courtesy and very much appreciated!

Normally there is a beta forum, and normally it is mostly ignored by the more 'excitable' members.

Thanks in advance to all the mods for their sterling work!

  • If you keep the beta around after it finishes it will reduce the download time for the full release. You don't need to copy any files yourself (use dto be the case, no longer - though you will be advised to copy the files by oldies)
  • You need to remove the beta files after the beta, but it might be worth keeping the around until the full release as the files are alledgedly used instead of downloading

Which one of these is true? :)

Which one of these is true? :)

Both .. but I prefer the second ;)

(I modified the second as I found the beta was not removed last time as I thought, but it's still rumoured that the files (if present) will be used to shortcut the full release. I corrected my offline copy thx!)

Sorry if this is a naive question, but is the Beta open to everyone playing on a PC? I’ve never participated before, and I’ve heard talk of people paying for access in the past, lifetime passes etc. It's the first time that I've felt that I can't wait. :)
