Community: Frontier Don't Communicate Enough

Frontier Communicate

Community: RAAAAAAAA I Am angry about this communication!!!
People are right to be angry, every other company bug fixes as they go. FDEV is maybe the only company I know that thinks this is ok. let's delay already delayed content to fix stuff we should gave been doing for the last 4 years yeah that will please the playerbase. I'm glad to see this communication however it was at a poor time during a massive content drought.

Thanks FDev! The efficiency with which you have decimated my hopes and dreams can only be described as machiavellian.
this will continue as long as the community dutifully dances in front of fdev like a little pink poodle, on its hind legs.
If you have a sense of pride, please stop buying anything at the frontierstore.
then maybe the relationship will change on the part of fdev, now, the community for them is nothing more than a battery.

Might want to check your math. Q2 would be 3 to 6 months from the original planned release in December, it would only be 6 monhts if they released them on the absolute last day of Q2.
Yeah I know it will be released on the last days of the deadline, given the fact that you are assuming the fc was planned to released on Dec 31st according to your math. LOL

Gotta say, I am torn. I like the idea of bug fixes, but I really hate the idea that you bowed to that blasted open letter nonsense.

And now new features suffer for it (and of course they would, where else would the dev-power have to come from?)

Well done Elite Community, you've done a thing, I guess.... 🙄

LET'S BE CLEAR HERE.

There is a reason that the community keeps drawing parallels between Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen.

And it's NOT because they're both Space Ship games.

It's because FDev continues to deliver shotty quality and delays for years after we've paid for them.

I mean you have some movement on road-maps however to go from in 2017 where expectations had been set for fleet carriers and the new DLC to both now hopefully, maybe, going on past experience not going to hold my breath, to be released in 2020... that's just not cricket.

I think another goody bag to all the life time backers is needed to sweeten this shocking announcement.

this will continue as long as the community dutifully dances in front of fdev like a little pink poodle, on its hind legs.
The game is broken. It needs to be fixed. That's just the facts. At least Frontier is finally adjusting their development practices to hopefully eliminate this level of "brokenness" in the future. Now I agree that the game should never have been allowed to get to this state in the first place, but it has, so you can stick it out till it's back on track or move on to greener pastures. I'm sure Frontier will lose some customers over this, and frankly they deserve that, but this is what needs to be done.

Fixing the bugs.Good news, at last.

Lets see if they do a better job of it this time.

I think FC is going to disappoint many anyway, so probably a good idea to delay it. Maybe they might introduce some gameplay around the FC, possible you buy the FC plot of land(space), then have to build the FC itself, section by section. Using various elements of gameplay, a bit of hauling, a bit of base raiding, some shooting of rocks, mission running (that have no bugs) and some engineering, some mining and other stuff for exotics. Or buy the thing ready built and delivered in 2 weeks for 10 times the price. So rich grinders and poor players can get a chance of getting one. Rather than just having some great big ship magically appearing out of nowhere. Yeah, I'm going to go with disappointment, but y'know, live in hope and all that.

At this rate I'd just quietly give up on Fleet Carriers. Not even an announcement. Just a quiet dismissal.

Yanno. Like how Open-only PowerPlay and the Icarus Cup was.
