Console footage when?

Hi all,

i'm currently deciding whether to get this game for console or build a gaming PC, so what i need to make this decision is some console footage to compare it to the PC footage.

All of the footage we have seen so far is clearly PC footage, which makes me concerned (with all that detail going on) that the console versions will get huge downgrades.

As we all know the current gen consoles are quite outdated and lack in terms of hardware now (f.e. the minimum requirements for PC say 8 gigs of ram required).

I have a ps4 so eventhough i'd like to preorder rn i would hate to see that we only get console footage after launch and severely downgraded from everything we've seen so far, so it would be nice to still get some console footage pre launch.

UniLAD gaming has Xbox footage of the demo on YouTube. To be fair the game still looks pretty good.

Can't you just wait closer to June?

I suppose the problem with console footage is that until they send the release to Sony / MS they can only show dev. builds. Hopefully we can get some soon as it's a legit ask and they most be close to the final build.

That's the price you pay for playing games on a console. Console makers have to keep the consoles cheap or as cheap as they can so consoles end up with outdated hardware. That means they will not be able to keep up with the PC in terms of graphics and performance. When you play on a console you should expect downgrades in graphics quality. It's the only logical and realistic thing to do, cause expecting a console to keep up with a PC is unrealistic.

I think you will have to wait for the game to be released if you want comparison videos showing which version looks better. The PC will beat all the consoles, but by how much is what you want to know. I imagine it will only be a few days after release till comparison videos are released.

Thank you for parroting my points.

I doubt there will be much difference. The xbox footage looks almost identical to the pc version. They want this game to look great on all platforms. Just look at the Zoo Tycoon for Xbox they did a good job on that. The worst part about having it on all 3 platforms is that there will always be the people that think because they play on PC it makes them superior.

More often then not, gameplay in trailers is shown on PCs and not consoles, unless the game is marketed towards a specific console or a console exclusive.

Given the nature of the game, I can't imagine there will be TOO much in terms of downgrade. Frame rate is the first thing that comes to mind as consoles are generally locked at 30.

I don't mind if the graphics are slightly less impressive on the console version, as long as we get all the same content as the PC version.

So it shouldn't be on the PC cause the PC version will probably look better and some people act like jerks about it? lol

I can think of a lot more reasons that make the game being multiplatform worse and none of them involve the PC. Matter of fact I would say the game would be much better if it had been a PC exclusive. But being ported to consoles comes with certain issues.

They didn't insinuate that this game shouldn't be on PC. They merely expressed the concept that being on all platforms would result in elitism and their distaste for that. I would wager they're in the ball park considering your name is literally "PCMR4Life" and you did in fact insinuate that it would be better if JWE wasn't on consoles

Now, let's not let this escalate into a PC vs Console discussion. Elitism exists on all gaming platforms, but it doesn't need to here.

Although consoles, from a narrow perspective have inferior hardware, the fact that they use the same components as a standardized format helps developers to really eke out the most out of the game their creating. Consoles also are built from the ground up for gaming, so their processors and other core functions are not stymied by sharing their resources on running an antivirus software in the background or other miscellaneous functions a PC might. Basically, if you built a PC with the same components as an Xbox One / PS4, you wouldn't get near the same performance as you would on the respective console.

The PC at the top-of-range is still going to provide you a better overall experience, but realistically speaking, most people can't afford that high-range gaming PC price. I'd have to believe that with the release of the Xbox One X, the gap between consoles and gaming PCs overall (once again, not the cutting edge rigs) has shrunk considerably from an overall experience standpoint.

High end PC is still considerably much more powerful than a console. Antivirus is not really needed. But for high end PC it doesn't really matter when it comes to perfomance. Even a GTX1080ti or a Titan V would be your bottleneck. Background tasks will be dealt by your RAM and CPU with ease.

I'm not sure if this is xbox or PC with an xbox gamepad. Either way, both should be like this. Hopefully that helps!
