Because those tickets are sitting around for months!
We all have tickets stil there from beta and gamma versions, that haven't been looked at at all.
So many among us experienced, that this forum is the better way to communicate with the devs, as it seems they look here and even fix stuff mentioned here, faster than through tickets.
That's why.
(as a sidenote, when you look into the rare-thread, you'll notice many of us already raised a ticket about this issue parallel to mentioniing it here)

And this "you know better than the devs?" statement is just childish.

I couldn't be bothered responding to post like that...fortunately you said exactly what I wanted to say. 1+ rep for you ;)

Please devs revert the rares to the previous state. Also please rethink nerfing the exploration data payout. You should be rewarded for going and scanning every body within a system.

I made around 450k on a single rare run before it was nerfed and that was only using a cobra, not a proper trade ship which can carry far more. That was a bit OP :p

You wont think that once you get into anything bigger that an asp and upgrade it. Unless, you believe grind = good!

Will put the suggestion there for rare commodities: you won't fix them the way you are going at it.
Put full stock available so people can fill up their ships, byt multiply the distance needed to get to the interesting prices. 600LY instead of 150, whatever.

Is there a new requirement to moan and groan and gripe and whine rather than raise a ticket and post it to the devs?

You might not feel as good but it may be a whole lot more productive!

C'mon people! shake yourselves....

See a problem JUST RAISE A TICKET

Think you know better than the Devs, why not join the team? JOIN THE TEAM

This is just ridiculous though Steve because Ed, in his opening post has asked for feedback within this thread. So yes by all means raise tickets as well if you think it would help (but maybe not as their system is clearly well stocked with tickets (a bit like the gold levels in the refinery i'm back trading from ;) ))

My suggestion to Michael Brookes was similar. Stretch out the bell curve for profit, and cap the sweet spot at 10K profit per ton. Limit the stock to 20-30t. Make the re-stocking timer one week (forcing you to visit multiple systems in a week's time rather than running "clusters" over and over).

Update on my Rare experience. It seems to be back to normal!

When I logged in with rare Heike Tea in my cargo hold, like others here (and my previous post) the station stock level was empty. I sat in the station for a number of restock ticks but the stock never replenished.

So, I did a run to Bast to sell the small stock of Heike Tea in my hold. I then purchased the 6 available Bast Snake Gin and noticed the supply section behaving as it did in 1.01. I waited for the restock tick and a new 4 tonnes appeared. I purchased that and now will be waiting for the next tick in another 10 mins. Current supply reading as "0 High".

The empty supply box issue, to me at least, now seems to be an issue with the initial log in after the patch, and not the once-purchased-never-again issue it first looked like.

- After yet another discussion with the rare commodity producers, Commanders should now be eligible to only purchase rare goods up to their own personal allocation, instead of buying everybody else's ration as well.

Edward, Clarification on this would be greatly appreciated. Does this now mean that supply / stock levels will begin to increase slowly over time if we are not actively trading that rare resource as apposed to always being empty when you dock at a station with a rare resource?

Are the servers back up yet? Just downloaded the 1.02 patch but for some reason, I can't log in. Original poster said the servers would be down 10 to 15 minutes starting 12:30 GMT. It's already 1400 GMT, so I'm wondering if it's just me or the server.

Are they replenishing to anybody else as well?

Okay, false positive alarm. After a new tick, the rare supply is now blank. 10 tonnes was my lot. Forget everything I said before.
(Also, can't edit my own posts for some reason)

So how do you know what your max allocation is? :s

Hang around for about an hour minutes and when you're not seeing any for more than 30 minutes you know you've reached your allocation.
