I think it means that for Engineers that offer market, UC, etc, you can use them before unlocking the actual engineer. The real question is, will your progress with the engineer increase when you sell them explo data, or not? i.e. will you be at G3 when you finally deliver those cigars or start at G1?Does this mean Engineers will finally supply a Shipyard?? Please put in Shipyards for engineers! ; )
- Improved elements of the Anaconda ship model to further improve the look of paint jobs.

Thanks, Is it that ye want to make sure everything is good before pushing the update out to everyone? It's all in the schedule table in this original post for you, Flameon.
"Improvements made to the System Map to prevent it from potentially getting stuck when loading details of systems with unexplored, non-landable planets."Greetings Commanders.
And so, Salvation is nigh…Update 13 and the conclusion of the Azimuth Saga are only a short number of hours away and we’re on the edge of our cockpit seats.
Before we get down to the business of update notes ahead of downtime and deployment, let’s recap today’s release deployment schedule.
We are still very much on track and working to the following, remaining itinerary:
Time Approximations (BST) 09:00
- Server downtime begins for all Elite Dangerous Odyssey and Horizons players, on all platforms.
13:00
- Elite Dangerous servers will be back online across all platforms.
- Update 13 will be available.
The update notes will be delivered here in two sections within the same post.
Great! So without further ado, please head on over to the fancy new format of notes for your perusal. You'll find them published here: https://www.elitedangerous.com/news/elite-dangerous-update-13-notes
- The first section will be specific to Odyssey only, with the second specific to Horizons only.
As usual we'll be about if you need us
Here we go! o7
So I think you should read up on the Horizons 4.0 codebase merge announcement recently. Horizon players will be getting all the general Odyssey stuffs (including scorpion) only excluding the actual on foot gameplay. Will be happening soon after update 13.After reading the patch notes, it starts with Odyssey specific things, then had a large section marked update general, then has section marked Horizons update...
Unless the patch notes are just formatted badly, it seems to be that the section marked, general update, is also for Odyssey only, however thst section seems to be 99% Horizons or "normal" gameplay, but is only Odyssey getting those fixes - I can't see any logical reason ye could add all those fixes, to ALL versions of the game!
It looks like ye're locking many useful and easy fixes behind the Odyssey paywall, which many of us can't access - certainly not on our systems of choice!!
Hopefully I'm reading it wrong and the general update is for everybody, but the fact that it's listed before the very limited Horizons fixes, suggests that I'm not!
I still hold out hope that ye'll "return" to console development, sooner or later (hopefully sooner), in particular releasing the game in full on "next gen" consoles, while adding everything ye can to "last gen" consoles!
But right now, colour me very disappointed, I thought we'd get one more full patch before ye cut us off!
Please tell me I'm reading it wrong and we're getting all those fixes :O.
Erm... Is this meaning that when we get arrested we can lose our ship to the impound yard? Never to get it back?
- Players can no longer access impounded ships.
I would think really you'd start at grade 1 but I'll get back to you on that. Still, It's sort of weird that I have to transfer ships via fleet carrier instead of transferring straight to the engineer.I think it means that for Engineers that offer market, UC, etc, you can use them before unlocking the actual engineer. The real question is, will your progress with the engineer increase when you sell them explo data, or not? i.e. will you be at G3 when you finally deliver those cigars or start at G1?
but this deserves an extra aww
- Ships in Supercruise toward a planet's tourist beacon will no longer skip the glide decent phase.
I'll look into this, aquilla, thanks for sharing the way you have! Thanks sally and the FDEV team , looking forward to the finale .
I may have missed it but could you all look into the fleet carrier navigation menu when plotting routes , if the system is full and cant be jumped to it will drop you back at the fleet carrier menu , instead of like horizons it stays by the system you want to jump to , A small annoyance but would be great to see it changed .
Work from home (or wherever) has its benefits.Damn will after wait till i get home from work, but looking forward to it..
I have a question about this, Sally. Stability issues here refer to frame drops, hitches, stuttering etc.? Or just about crashes in general.
- Commanders were experiencing a high frequency of crashes and stability issues around planetary surface settlements and POIs. The issue behind these stability problems have now been addressed.
I would guess this means you can't access it until it becomes not impounded.Erm... Is this meaning that when we get arrested we can lose our ship to the impound yard? Never to get it back?
