When you see an advertisement on TV for a new car, do you feel deceived because you will not experience driving it while looking at it from the outside?
This its a game... we want cameras.

Care to back any of that up?... Of course not because you quoted out of context and have no interest in actually engaging with the topic. I see what you're really after so I'll just pop you on ignore now![]()
It is the same with the video of gameplay they showed at the premiere event. Implying you can do group play with your friends. Frontier oversells the multiplayer parts in this game imho. This will of course backfire with a community that is turning bitter and hostile when not attended to. A community can change if not nurtured with correct information. It is already going on in the forums if you have not noticed. Time to step upInteresting point, well-argued, but I don't think we're misrepresenting the game by showing these shots. You can see other ships when you're playing the game. You just have to see all the screenshots and videos people are taking in-game already.
i don't mean to sound rude but have you ever played a sim before? The most hard core sims on the market have external view. There is no need to disable it in combat. Only a noob would actually try to fight that way and they would quickly find out why. Silly argument. If you don't like external views don't use them. But to not want them in the game is just selfish. There is no pvp advantage, it is actually a disadvantage!
You have 3rd person view in Falcon 4 BMS and DCS but to fly in that mode effectively is impossible since you don't see your instruments and hud. Simple as that.
The same is also true with every first person shooter out there. :-/
I'll tell you what, I just watched a trailer for "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare". This is what that trailer said:I'm ok with your "philosophy" but, don't attract new players with this misleading advertising.
If they add a 3rd person view that is not useful for combat (without any cockpit instruments displayed), then I'm fine with it.
It has been mentioned that something like this might be possible in the future. A remote camera drone of some kind, but there are many strings attached and I would recommend you take a look at the definitive thread started by our very own NeilF.Wasn't it supposed to be a feature to come? I thought I read that somewhere, can't find where.
I can't wait for my new Citroen to arrive. It turns into a transformer and can dance
With respect to the op I think he has a point. That been said its easily fixed if they add a flight recoder into the game that we can toy about with afterwards or possibly a sandbox mode out of the game

Well that depends on it still being the plan (given how much hasn't made release and how uncertain even long expect features are now its anyone's guess) and if the caveats and contextualization mentioned end up utterly gimping the feature anyway. Frankly a system that requires either modules or cargo space makes it pretty much useless, likewise if it only worked when stationary. Even if its impossible in supercruise or locked out control it would be a big disappointment for me. Disabling it in combat would be okay but not ideal, mostly because it will hurt the youtube video and machinima makers. Thanks for the heading. It's one of the thread I've been reading through a bit, but I started from the end, as I always do
So, relatively good news after all.
Dear Lynx, please remove all your adverts suggesting using your products will make me irresistible to women. I have tried it and it doesn't work.
Hello Folk!
To add a little developer clarification:
We are looking at external camera views, with the following caveats:
* They are contextualised as camera/drone systems
* They are not designed to be used as alternate flight views
* Their primary function is to allow "beauty shots"
* They may have occasional tertiary game play functions (such as seeing how close you are to something)
No ETA at the moment though.
Hope this helps.
What don't you drive your car from the roof to get the full view.......
<grins> Kudos for the nine Ps!... people perceive a plethora of polls presently so probably pointless petitioning presently.
