ANNOUNCEMENT Gamescom Reveals - Fleet Carrier Details

A thought: since the carriers are available for both Horizons and base game players, that means the fuel can't be a planetside resource. The obvious alternative is ring mining.
I dunno, logically it would have to be something readily available in any system, so as to not strand the carrier.

And all of a sudden, core mining payouts make sense.

I'm around 50,000 Ly from home right now, so if you lot could save some Void Opals for me that would be great, thanks. :)

I'm guessing at least 1.2 billion credits for a carrier, plus more for the loadout, and OA says in his video there's a on-going (maintenance) cost for owning carriers. Good! That's how it should be for such huge vessels.

Its funny, was talking to a friend at work today about this game and I told him "there's nothing else for me to buy", and now FD throw this welcome curve ball at me! 😀

So the pics seemed to insinuate different models?

Are those going to be functionally tailored to a specific task or is the role going to be determined more by the customization?

1B? are you kidding?
A ship that size should cost 10 billion at a minimum.
Maybe you missed the + part of 1B+.

But hear me out. There's lots of "upgrades" for this thing. Buying all of them will definitely bring you into the really high CR expenditures. The base carrier (which may be all but useless without upgrades) will likely start at a much lower cost. Look at how ships and modules are priced in the game today. That's what I'm thinking, but it's just a guess at this point.

Awesome news they look amazing but we were hoping for a squadron one BN with a squadron bank to buy one, hopefully the permission settings will allow Just squadron's to dock and although they will cost a large amount of credits to purchase hopefully not too much 😀

Well, you should have at least one jump-capable ship with you to go looking for fuel if it's not in-system.

And if, despite that, you still manage to strand yourself - hey, more work for the fuel rats!

How the jumps will be handled?
I mean - does the destination has to be already visited by the player?
Like capital ships jumping into battlefield I could assume you can choose a target body to orbit to achieve something similar which in this case would require for the system to be already discovered by the player first.

Can we store cargo on them? This would make Operation Ida run smoother.

Any skins for them at the time of launch?

That is a very big + then :D.
