Glorious HIPs - 3306

I have just re-analysed the latest download of "systems without bodies" and found there are now only 75 HIP systems left.
I have looked at all of them on EDSM and they are all either "no traffic" of "zero bodies".
As far as I can tell none are permit locked, but may need a FC to reach.
All of them are ones which were marked as being "in edsm" on the first HIP spreadsheet and so not included in our original quest.

Most are in sectors 5,6,7,8 and not too far from the bubble.
The furthest away are these :
8 , HR 1059 , -2900, -490, -4681
7 , HD 12493 , -4960, 52, -4439
7 , HD 236714 , -5882, -332, -4499
7 , HD 7844 , -7234, -525, -5430
7 , HIP 9962 , -7582, 283, -6806
8 , HD 16310 , -7977, -113, -8488
8 , HD 16653 , -8184, -177, -8884
7 , HD 12509 ,-11687, 809,-10197

Unfortunately, these sectors numbers may be slightly different from previous versions because I couldn't find the original code.

There are still a few systems around sector 5 which should be picked up by K Olley.
I have plotted a route through the rest close to the bubble, avoiding sectors 5 and 7.

My biggest bugbear is HD 204365 in sector 11. I know it has only the main star because I have been there twice.
Once with my main account and again with my alt.
Both times I didn't have EDMC running when I scanned the system ! So I can't now rescan it.
I think there is an error in the sector numbers above - better beware until corrected ....

Found the problem - effectively I took a cotan function instead of a tan.
I didn't notice at first because my test systems were all at about 45 degrees from NSEW, so weren't affected.

It didn't affect my plotted route, and the diagonal sectors numbers were somewhat reversed.

Most outstanding systems are now in slices 8 and 9 which is where my route was taking me anyway.
The list of far away systems have sectors 7 and 8 reversed.

7 , HR 1059 , -2900.0 , -490.0 , -4681.0
8 , HD 12493 , -4960.0 , 52.0 , -4439.0
8 , HD 236714 , -5882.0 , -332.0 , -4499.0
8 , HD 7844 , -7234.0 , -525.0 , -5430.0
8 , HIP 9962 , -7582.0 , 283.0 , -6806.0
7 , HD 16310 , -7977.0 , -113.0 , -8488.0
7 , HD 16653 , -8184.0 , -177.0 , -8884.0
8 , HD 12509 , -11687.0 , 809.0 , -10197.0

Here is a list of the last few remaining stars without bodies ....

4, RT Caeli , 2304.1 , -2539.7 , -1292.8 (has been visited)

11, HD 204365 , -1453.3 , -2544.8 , 2269.2 (has been visited twice by me, but not successfully uploaded)

Apologies for the confusion about sector numbers.
The above sector numbers are taken from the original published list of stars without bodies.

I did volunteer to scan sector 8, but my previous "sector 8" included stars from nearby sectors as well.
I hope I did not tread on any toes during that time.
Also, most of sector 8 stars above were previously in the wrong sector 7 list.

I will continue with the sector 8 stars above whilst my FC is in that area. Unless Varonica has any of them left.

Heading for HD 92685 to complete sector 5, I will then visit HD 204365 then back to the bubble to pick up and engineer some of them new FSD's.
Thanks for visiting HD 204365.

On my way to sector 8 I passed through the bubble and picked up one of the new FSD's.
I only just managed to engineer it up to grade 5, but without the mass manager yet.

So the Titanic, my exploraconda, now jumps 82ly, up from 78ly. But it drinks fuel and explodes heat.
It's good for getting out of gravity wells, but I haven't mastered distant planets yet.

It also cleared me out of data materials so I won't be getting another one for some time.

Sector 8 completed. But leaves me 16kly sw of the bubble in the centre of the Formadine Rift.
Which is ok because I've not been out in this direction before.

Whilst taking a rest in HD 12509 and waiting for K Olley to finish the top of the list, I thought it was a long time since I checked the unreachable stars list.
It's now 2 years since I checked the unreachable stars against the latest positions of edge stars to see if any had now become reachable.
This does entail downloading the whole spansh db though, so may take some time.

OK, I shall just buy some Tritium back in the bubble and crack on with the last 4, I have almost depleted my mined tritium supply. :(

Eventually managed to run the Unreachable Stars list against the latest Spansh db.
Not had time to study the output in detail but this EDSM entry stood out ...
Brilliant, they find a way there and only half do it, we could do with an automatic basic scan on carriers:)

The question is, how did C0MMAND3R0 get there ?
The spansh FC router can only get as far as HIP5832 which is still 11,812 ly away from gliese 433.1 (HIP 57480)

I can only think of one way to get that entry into EDSM, and I won't repeat what that is.
BTW gliese 433.1 is also on record as being the highest visited system in EDSM.

Interesting, I can't even target it on the system map, it's too far out of the range of the galaxy map.

No idea, I only looked at the EDSM entry and noticed that the completion bar (celestial bodies tab) was only half done and assumed it was someone jumping in and out without bothering to get out and scan.

I am only a beginner compared with some when it comes to exploration, my usual practice is to route plot in game with my AspX (55ly) very rarely use jumponium and have never even neutron jumped. I have occasionally used my carrier to hop over a longer distance. Until very recently I had not even used the spansh FC router and that was only because of problems navigating around the no go area in sector 5, this is why I could not find a route into HD 125883 first time around.

En route now to do them last 4 systems:)

Actually, I have now thought of 3 ways to get there.
The most benign way is that cmdr C0MMAND3R0 is a developer who had access to whatever it takes.
But my first thought is still the easiest way and therefore most likely.
