Have a shipyard at the Distant Worlds mining CG

While it is really great that Frontier has agreed to have a mining CG in the middle of the galaxy, it does lead to a logistical problem for the vast majority of everyone actually taking part in the expedition. Most people came on the trip to explore, and thus don't actually have outfits that facilitate mining.

So, having a megaship, or a partially-built station as the CG location, with a basic shipyard, would help fix this problem.

It would let people that explore, but want to participate and help out, transfer a suitable mining ship over from the Bubble or Colonia over the course of 3~ days or so, and for a large credit fee.

The people that came with a mining outfit definitely get a head start on the community goal by doing this, but it also lets all the other people that are interested help, instead of just kind of wandering around in their super-lightweight Anacondas twiddling their thumbs while the CG progresses.
 
Easy transfer of dedicated PvP ships that quite frankly should not be able to travel that distance.
An Outfitter can allow PvPers to transform jump-range anacondas into combat-focused anacondas. You will still have PvPers with an outfitter.

For sure that's possible. But it will take time and effort over and against just whole sale shipping out their MuderWagons.

Besides, this is all intellectual anyways...nothing is known at all about how the DW2 CG's will be handled.

You can limit the equipment on sale at an outfitters to mining gear, but once you have a shipyard anyone can bring in a fully combat ready uber engineered destructo machine with a 7ly jump range!
