Not really though, the scale is still off for the Vive and the periheroy bug still hasn't been fixedYes it is getting silly. The "vive" issue is fixed with the steamvr workaround which has been known for quite a while. This is also needed for the Rift but you use the debug tool. The issue left is performance and that is common to both the Rift and the vive. So it you want to play elite in vr the vive is currently as good as it gets. The Rift do not produce better quality.
THe experience is worse than the rift as it stands.
