It wouldn't be VRAM, I only have 128MB of Dedicated VRAM and 2176MB total. I took these pictures earlier with Ansel, running on the default Medium settings. I also attached my build specs. My laptop certainly does not hit the recommended settings, and I'm running everything alright. I'd say this is definitely a bug. I made the pictures smaller, so they're a bit blurry, but you can see that all the textures have come in clearly.

970M has 3GB of VRAM https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gtx-970m.c2623

yeah i did too.. but like Pixel said and showed above... he's running a lot lower vram than us and his textures look just fine. I'm guessing its something with our specific graphics card because ive see everyone posting about the issue, have the same card as us
If so I'm not for buying a new Graph
There's a little confusion in this thread. VRAM is memory on your GPU and is typically used to render textures in games. You both have a GTX 1050 which has 2GB of VRAM, while it does not meet the recommended requirements for the game, it still meets the minimum. So I'm sure this is a bug that will be fixed. Just ensure your graphic card drivers are up to date, if that does not fix things, then hang tight for Frontier to hopefully fix things :)
At least it meets the minimun requirement. I'm not about having to buy a new Graphics Card just to play it. 😭 But they should have given us some sort of warning before releasing it. So like "Hey look we made a new Zoo Tycoon game with amazing graphics and sh*t. Oh btw you need a wickedly good graphics card to see that good sh*t." 😑

He has 1GB more than You. Pixel doesn't know his own specs. :D
If youre implying this is on us and NOT bug then I think you need to re-evaluate yourself bud.

We should be able to at least see medium textures with ALL settings set to low besides texture. I PROMISE you that, we should be getting at the very least that. Which we don't.

Oh wow, you're right. Woops. 🤣 It's been 5 years or so since I had my laptop built, so it seems I've forgotten a few bits of info.

@carazan, the Minimum and Recommended specs were released before the beta. I believe. I checked them on Steam (they're always at the bottom of the store page) before launching the Beta to know what to expect. That said, you do hit at least the minimum, so you should be able to render those textures. Even low settings doesn't make them look like that. From what I've seen it does seem like everyone reporting this particular bug has the same card, so it's just a matter of time before it's tweaked. It's always a little difficult to make sure that every graphics card responds the way it should, but hopefully it's not too difficult a fix. I had a texture issue back when The Sims 3 was new that looked exactly like this, and it only took EA (notoriously slow with patches and bug fixes) a week to iron it out.

The same problem.I have two graphic cards, one Intel HD Graphics 610 and Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti,but I even can't start my game, one label tell me that my graphic card cannot be identified, even I ban my core graphic card,I can enter the game, but picture and speed will become so terrible.I really like this game, and want to play it with my computer.

Seems to be the gtx 1050 Ti... I have the same and also blurry textures. Almost everyone on the internet with that problem has the same card

Hello,
I am having this issue in career mode with just signs and graphics. Sometimes my plants get a little out of focus looking as well, but they fix themselves usually. Franchise and sandbox have zero issues. My animals are fine just the signs are super grainy looking. I also have a Nvidia 1060 3GB so it is not just the 1050 having a form of this issue. Luckily its just in career mode and its not my animals, but wanted to post since my card is different.

Yeah... update: I had to close my original franchise zoo due to random bankruptcy.. (let it run by itself for 2-3 years, was making a huge profit and then randomly one year with no changes, i lost SO much money i went bankrupt..) So I moved all my animals to the storage and started a new franchise... they have textures now but trees and signs are still bad.

My Franchise aint even working. 😩 If it's suddenly working for you now after starting a new Zoo then it must definitely be a bug. 🤔 Someone suggested in another thread to make sure your HDMI or whatever cable is plugged into the GPU and not the Motherboard? Try that maybe.

if your HDMI was plugged into your motherboard, your monitor wouldnt even turn on. Unless you had a secondary graphics card. Which we don't.

Yeah I just tried and it my screen didn't even come back on. 😭 Definitely in the right plug then....🤔

So I was finally able to get on Franchise and I wanted to see what the Animals looked like compared to Career and Sandbox and for some reason they're perfectly fine on Franchise. This is my Tiger.

Yet back on Sandbox my animals look like sh*t.

So weird.... Both Sandbox and Franchise animals are poorly textured. Haven't tried career though. I guess I should try it out. I'll let you know o . O

edit: this is my career mode

My textures are off in every mode I play in. Career, Franchise and Sandbox mode all give me blurry animals and other textures. In Challenge mode however the animals are looking like they are supposed to, but all the other textures (foliage, buildings etc.) are still very blurry.

Same for me except the only one working is Franchise (besides foliage, buildings, etc.). 🤔

Plus the game has made my Computer crash twice now. 😡
