So what are you hoping for on Wednesday's Stream?

Today's announcement: "We are pleased to announce a new rare commodity - Elephant Butt Leather! This is sold at Elephant's Trunk Mine in the GM Cephei system, and it is the most valuable commodity in the galaxy. Just be warned, hauling this commodity will distort the space around your ship, introducing many side effects like terrible flickering disco shadows. Transport at your own risk!"
A certain 4-letter animal rights group will target you. That's all.

I'm actually not even 'expecting' cmdr data xfer from consoles to PC, although I do hope so for the sake of all concerned.
Frontier have said on a few occasions how 'difficult' it is (isn't it just tables in a database???), so they could well have been preparing us for a partial solution.
What should have happened from a customer service perspective was an announcement of complete data xfer on the same day that they announced the dead end for consoles, plus a free ODY upgrade. I would also throw in a few arx for good measure.

No Cobra IV though - it's mine and you plebs can't have it :)

Imo, it might be the best 65 Dollars US I ever spent if they allow account transfer. If not, most likely will get a refund

I just hope it's not about winding the game down due to lack of Odyssey sales/loss of console.
Look, I know we're all a bit shell-shocked and paranoid right now, but the fact that they moved the livestream to 'May the Fourth' means they're not about to announce the game is canned. It's a nerd holiday, and they won't announce bad news on a nerd holiday. I'd have been more worried if they'd ignored it, frankly.

I don't hope for anything at the moment.
Except perhaps one thing and that is, that Elite Dangerous doesn't turn into one of those games that reach EOL far too early, but then are butchered in small pieces to create some more profit.
Let's see if the stream brings us something fresh, new and not pew pew. ;)

1. Full data transfer from console to PC.
2. Improved ship engineering.
3. A foot combat mode in CQC.
4. Final connection between Horizons and Odyssey.
5. Foot combat against Thargoids.
6. Ship interiors.

For asking not to be...

Not even close 🙄

I read the post on the forum by Paul_Crowther with the usual vagueness around dates and features and quickly realised there was not going to be any more detail on the stream. Business as usual really, though I hope the efforts the Devs have gone to behind the scenes will reassure the Console players who can afford to switch to PC at some point in the future.

I know we're probably not going to get anything huge (like ship interiors and we know that the planetary tech is staying as it is). However, I am hoping for ;-
  1. Confirmation that fdev is going to support and continue to develop for the game for quite a while.
  2. Continuing Galnet, CGs and ingame events after the Azimuth saga has finished.
  3. Continuing Bug Fixes.
  4. More space interactions to higher threat on-foot missions.
  5. Additional on-foot exploration mechanics.
  6. Alterations to C&P.
  7. Alterations to Engineering? (they did ask us ages ago).
  8. A new ship (and if there is there will probably be variants).
  9. Powerplay update (please, do something!)
I think everyone is expecting some form of thargoid on-foot combat at the end of the Azimuth saga.

“Those who forget their history are condemned to repeat it.” :D

On foot thargoids... maybe on a power restore mission to an abandoned settlement somewhere out in the Pleiades....with the added bonus they dont appear in night vision googles....

"yeah... just cutting this door lock open.. and power it up to open it and EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK BROWN ALERT!* "

Bill

"Go on Fdev... you know you want to.. ;) "

*brown alert... from Red Dwarf... its one step up from red alert and theres no need to change the bulb either
