Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

Basic Meds

Hope another station gets attacked Loved those basic meds Credits. when do you guys think they'll sky rock like that again? :D I love helping out in unfortunate situations #hauler

If you ask me: The question is not "Why didn't the Thargoid plan an attack this week". The question is "Why didn't the Thargoids destroy the Eagle Eye stations".

They are going to use them against us somehow. And my bet: they will propose us a meeting somewhere where we will meet the next step on their warships.

Be prepared.

Now this i want to see. A huge set piece battle against the goids.

This week I think it would be good to not lose any more stations. Ideally we'd have equal support for both systems, but how to do that?
More statuions will be lost. This is inevitable and intended. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::,..Althought here is temporary respite currently, this is due to FDev allowing the dispersal of information and strategy surrounding use of the EagleEye systems to reach the majority of the playerbase interested in pursuing the Thargoid storyline or otherwise seeking this content. After which, as a next-level of gameplay mechanism for PvE enthusiasts, this will be expanded upon to become a common practice. Stations will routinely be attacked and the community can operate most effectively by communicating the stategies under which defence of certain stations can be most effective and least catastrophic.::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::,..

I just want an inflation of basic materials so I can profit off this great conflict :p once I make a couple of billion ill join the fight... only if I profit of it :)

I've just heard the new... Mentor is about 16.5ly from my faction's, Order of Enblackenment, home system, 9 Aurigae.

This is a little concerning to us. It's quite literally outside of our doorstep. We are not against the accelerated entropy that the Thargoids bring but the human suffering is great.

Is there anything the Order can do to help?

We are still in the process of undestanding how the Thargoids go about their business. We've been counting kills (see the OP) and NHSS sightings (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...-do-about-it?p=6566866&viewfull=1#post6566866). If you have EDMC I advice you have your people get the fire-damage and USS-survey plugins and help us gather statistics.

LCU, Maligno, Factabulous; is there a "most useful place to be" for data gathering running the EDMC plguns, Mentor or Lunguni? or is it best to spend a bit of time in each? I don't have a huge amount of time to be on, but I may as well be gathering data while I'm bumbling around.

I don't think there is a best place right now. I'm looking for a pattern so we can come up with a patrol zone.

Operation Hrafnagud's Eye

I've been looking to see what we have in common with the targetted stations. So we can set up a patrol and gather information.

All 4 are systems with ammonia worlds
Only Irandan appears to have a system suitable for a Thargoid surface site.
All 4 have scoopable stars
HIP 21559 and Irandan have Aegis presence the others do not.
Irandan did not have any scouts prior to the attack just cyclops in threat 5
Lunguni did not have any threat 7 or threat 8

I have identified 174 Ammonia worlds between Sol and Merope. < 200ly from Sol and < 380ly from Merope
All scoopable stars, none of them apart from HIP 21559 and Irandan have Aegis presence

Only systems with Coriolis Starport, Ocellus Starport, Orbis Starport gets us down to 71

We could prioritise systems that could host a Thargoid Surface site and that would give us a shortlist of 24 systems but I think really we should look at all 74.

I think the first sweep what we should look for systems without any NHSS. These sites will need monitoring over time to see if Thargoids are moving in.

Sites that already have NHSS activity can also be profiled.

Any thoughts?

hello
The thargoid "Scout" kill missions while rare and are confined to only 3 sites including the rescue ship,, All missions relate to human provoked attacks by scouts due to the illegal transporting of "Probs & sensors" (Plenty of local mission chat on the subject) that being said Thargiods sensors can and do scan our ships.... therefore... "sensors" mostly likely chat over distance as the Thargoid version of "Eagle Eye"....

That being said; it is simply more likely that any system / station involved with the "Thargiod Probs & sensors" will come under attack.... Given this... Your thargoid scout kill mission... unknown to you is to defend the illegal transporting of "Probs & sensors" to where ???? is the million credit question....

Therefore it is more likely that Thargiod are acting in a more self defence mode.... In any good conspiracy theory, is not more likely to say humans are manipulating Thargiods attacks ??

What we know; That the kill missions only cover less than a 20ly radius around an attacked station (More data required) Yet we dont know if via wake scanning if these transports actually have a true destination... or does game simple end there ?.... that being said.... there was another mission related to "black Flight" in which i tracked another attack transport for 6hrs 100's of jumps... without any conclusion if the jumps were random or not...

The "Patrol Zone" may not be that simple to define.... And may relate more to "Thargoid to thargoid active sensor range"

Do we know yet what "Eagle Eye" has defined as the next Targets ???

cheers Stu

Just out of curiosity, how did you manage to identify those? Being fairly new to this, I'm genuinely curious.

Do you have a list of those 74 systems? I wouldn't mind going on a patrol in some of those.

I like this idea a lot. Would this appear as the patrols on your plugin?

I would like to paricipate. Is it more efficient to take missions or we can just jump in NHSS ?

And basec on excel sheet, best place is Mentor now no ?
