Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

Mentor has no NHSS with the Vanguard in system now but the ship is giving out Thargoid missions

Madngeri (indicated by the Eagle Eye monitoring, pointing to an attack on Phillips City) seemed to have a high number of scouts. Mostly NHSS Threat 4, found a couple of threes and one five as well. Didn't see anything higher though, however I wasn't looking for that long so there could be Interceptors about. So, the Eagle Eye data is probably correct and the Phillips City is next in the line, so it might be best to concentrate any defence there.

Can confirm Jacob99s observation, also saw some NHHS Threat 6.
I try to leave some for you Dudes n Dudettes but cant promise anything since these filthy buggers owe me a few Mils of Explorationdata

I'm also having trouble with missions from Acropolis yesterday. Took one to take down 'Thargoid Interceptor' threat and one to take down 'Thargoid Cyclops' threat in the neighbouring systems. When I found the mission target USS, for my disappointment there were no thargoids in there. Tried 3 times the first mission and once the second. Kind of frustrating finding the exact location but no means for completing the mission. Only thing to do would be to scoop the black box or other misc items floating with the ship wrecks. [where is it]

New Eagle Eye targets this week: pre-NHSS traffic report:

Total Support Ships 24
Kunuvii 70.8%
32 c Piscium 29.2%
Advice Support 32 c Piscium

It happens. Something goes wrong with the generation.

Eagle Eye - No NHSS in systems - What's the plan?

So far there's been no NHSS located in the new Eagle Eye target systems (at the time of writing).

If the Thargoids don't attack any stations next Thargday then that's not a problem, but if they do - I would assume that means there's another thing we can do to deflect the attacks? - which means presumably Eagle Eye will shut down since there's little point having people spend what amounts to hours decoding signals and chasing transmitters only to find the intel it gives is pointless. My assumption is that Eagle Eye will shut down, or it now forms only part of what we need to do to find the "real" targets?

Is the plan to continue with the Canonn system survey of potential target worlds looking for NHSS, or are we also actively looking for other things that might point to attack targets?

Has anyone sent a bug report on this, just to see if it gets an answer? It would be pretty terrible if this is a bug and we spend hours and hours of game-time scanning systems for NHSS...

Aegis intelligence has so far been disapointing. Though we are only focussing on the human starports targetted by the Thargoids and not the other things. We did discover new barnacles through Eagle Eye so might still be worth decoding in case anything new shows up even if it does not give us an opportunity to defend systems.

From the perspective of monitoring NHSS I think we need to make an effort this week to visit all sites by Wednesday night. If we do not find any NHSS then the survey can end as we will have proved that there is no advance warning to be gained.

I'm hoping that we will find NHSS in systems that are about to be attacked so that we can defend them even when EE fails to warn us.

Not entirely convinced that EE failed us - possibly an FD mistake last week as this week we got two working targets. Then again, if the Thargoids don't turn up at the target systems soon then you may well be right.

This happened several days in a row to me so I left to do something else.

7 empties in a row, two days in a row and I have to believe something is broken so will return if fixed.

Great work with the survey everyone. We have now surveyed every one of the target systems for at least 5 minutes each.

I have set up the patrols so that they reset every tick. This is the state of play since the last tick

Interesting to note that we are not seeing Thargoids at Mentor and Lunguni but that might be because we have not visited in a while.

Awesome work :) So, no NHSS spotted outside of expected areas then?

I guess unless something shows up between now and Thargday we just need to wait and see if Kunuvii and/or 32 c Piscium get attacked?

I wonder if there's anything else to do? Feels a bit strange just sitting and waiting to see if a station goes up in flames :(

I was hyperdicted closer to the bubble than ever before earlier in the week, in Arietis Sector just a few LY from inhabited systems, so I wonder if that is a guide to the direction of activity. (I've forgotten the exact system name, will get it after I've been back in-game). I'm going to spend the afternoon checking for NHSS nearby and maybe further afield in higher-population systems on the Pleiades side of the bubble, to see if there's activity anywhere.

Closer than Diaguandri? Cool. Post a pic of your Encounter stats - that will have the system name in it

Here it is:

I've checked the following nearby systems this afternoon
Arietis Sector MH-V b2-1 10 mins (Deep Space [DS]) Signal sources: 2 NHSS: 0
Arietis Sector OS-T b3-0 10 mins (Shipping Lane [SL]) Signal sources: 7 NHSS: 0
Atroan 10 mins (SL) Signal sources: 5 NHSS: 0
HIP 15412 10 mins (DS) Signal sources: 3 NHSS: 0
BD+20 518 10 mins (SL) Signal sources: 5 NHSS: 0
HIP 16405 10 mins (SL) Signal sources: 6 NHSS: 0
Babaradhbh 5 mins (SL) Signal sources: 2 NHSS: 0

EDIT: update: also checked HR 1257 (which is home to a binary pair of Ammonia Worlds). signal sources: 27 NHSS: 0 . For this system I checked the Shipping Lanes, Deep Space and also close to planet 6, one of the Ammonia Worlds.
Today (16/4/3304) I encountered NHSS threat 4 in two systems whilst passing through: Aries Dark Region GW-W d1-60 and 2 Xi Tauri (I forgot to check the Merope distance for the former but the latter is just over 175 LY away, so outside the old UA shell)
